As a scientist and someone who lived through a childhood saturated with fundamentalism, I was intrigued by by a religion that had the word science in its name. When she got to the part about how auditing could release radiation contamination from my body, possibly leaving me with something resembling a sunburn, I finally had to laugh out loud. I informed her that I was a scientist and that she'd officially crossed the line into something I knew to be untrue, but thanks for the learning experience. Anyone who has doubts about whether Scientology is pure BS needs to ask themselves why a recruiter would say such a thing and also seriously look at the fantasies it teaches.
