American Idol’s Sanjaya Malakar Safe For Another Week
Or at least that’s my prediction, and I’d be willing to bet on it.
With Tony Bennett coaching the Idol contestants this week, this gave the controversial Sanjaya Malakar the opportunity to show off his retro-flair and show off he did. Sporting a slicked back hair-do, Malakar did a relatively good version of Fred Astaire’s “Cheek to Cheek” including hamming it up for the cameras by crooning to his fan-base, a twelve-year old girl in the crowd, and twirling AI judge Paula Abdul around like some-kind of sassy Desi-Astaire.
In fact, Sanjaya would have had to have come out on stage and punch a cripple, strangle a box of playful kittens, and thrown rotten eggs at confused Alzheimer patients in order to get himself voted off this week.
Sanjaya vowed his objective for the week was to “show America I can sing,” which in essence means he wanted to shake the notion he’s some kind of flukey phenomenon. So while he may not be the strongest singer in the group, he’s got a little something-something going on and even Randy noted that he’s become a “real performer.”
Maybe I will start a new trend and continuously eat ho-hos until Sanjaya is finally voted off in a fit of overwhelming concern for my increasingly bloated frame. Help me America - I can’t eat this truck load of ho-hos forever.
Or can I?
I predict that Phil “Nosferatu” Stacey will go home, although I think that hosebag Haley Scarnato deserves it more. Phil actually sounded great, despite what the judges said, and all Haley has going for her, is her innate ability to show off a lot of T & A.

Sanjaya’s certainly safe, but VFTW and Howard Stern don’t deserve the credit. He actually *isn’t* the worst person on the show, so until Chris Richardson and Haley Scarnato is gone, Sanjaya *deserves* to be there.

So you agree with my assessment of Haley? Gosh, she really is a one-trick pony, well I guess if you count both breasts that makes her a two-trick pony, but you get my drift

I agree he is safe and in an otherwise boring season, Sanjaya is a breath of fresh air, he have taken so much nagative ribbing, yet still throught it all he has stayed positive, with a very sweet disposition, I don’t think he will win, but in the mean time he is having a ball, and I commend him for keeping his cool, lets not for get the judges kept him in the final 24, he wouldn’t have made it if they didn’t think he could sing, however his inexperince showing,In time this young man will perfect his craft and become something great, I admire his ability to endure

He has something in him that can win crowds…..
American idol is not only about singing, but about how u perform in front of ppl….
I think he has great courage and guts to come out there and perform…infact i think his performance has been better week after week…i hope he wins or maybe goes a long way….if he does i m some1 will make a movie on sanjaya…
underdog going all the way…..america loves to see underdogs perform and win….and sanjaya is no different…maybe not the best of the lot vocally….but the most charming of them all combined….

Heck, Sanjaya can go and beat up the band and wreck their instruments and still be loved. Ah, the cult of the over praised American. All this molasses crap about him being an inspiration makes Jack a dull boy.
Sanjaya remnded me of those cabaret singers that used to appear on the background set on Magnum P.I. White, slicked and cheesey.
Nosferatu Stacey. Effen funny. I thought he looks like Dr. Evil myself.
Haley. Grrowl. She gets the horny vote.

Actually, you know what would be funny. He “loses” it. Smashes the instruments and THEN goes to dance with that girl who claps funny. You know, the one that sits next to the guy from France and the other guy, Steve Perry is it?

It’s really a nice change reading some positive feed on Sanjaya. I’m very pleasantly surprised with the way he’s dealing with all the negatives, truly making lemonade from lemons. The Little Engine That Could, did and continues.
Haley should have gone last night, but sadly, Gina’s been on Simon’s shit list the past couple of weeks. Too, her legs just can’t compare to Haley’s.
