Angelina Jolie’s Allegiance To People Magazine Is Having Repercussions
Last week Us Magazine came out with a rather tame article criticizing Angelina Jolie’s recent behavior. The front cover was dire and extreme, but when you read the actual article - which I did - the tone was much more tempered and even-handed than I had hoped. Gawker even went so far as to accuse Us Magazine of being jealous for having been left on the sidelines of Jolie’s latest adoption frenzy of 3-year old son Pax Thien. I think jealous isn’t the right word. Perhaps disgusted, jaded or weary might be better terms - but jealous seems so obvious an emotion. Surely a major celebrity mag would have more at stake than to want to appear merely “jealous” of one of their competitors. Have they learned nothing from Jennifer Aniston?!Â
If so, then count Star Magazine green with envy and following suit. Their next issue paints an even starker picture for Brangelina, with bold headlines like, “Angelina Walks Out On Brad!…and Dumps The Kids!” According to Page Six, a snippet of Star’s allegations against Angie:
This week, Star went with “Angelina Walks Out on Brad! . . . and Dumps the Kids!” The tab says Jolie reneged on her promise to stay home with her kids and flew off to Chicago to film “Wanted.”
She’s also slated to star in “Atlas Shrugged” and “The Changeling,” while Pitt will be busy promoting “Ocean’s Thirteen” and “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” and starting “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” When Jolie is in L.A., even though she has four full-time nannies, she leaves her three eldest kids at the $931-per-month preschool/day-care center on the Warner Bros. lot, Star reports, where other parents are upset with the special treatment Jolie gets. One flashpoint is a ban on cellphones because Jolie fears parents will take pictures of her kids.
Of course they also talk about the latest rumors of Angie and Brad bringing home a new child by the end of summer in order to “balance” out their brood. Supposedly Angelina has picked out a 1-year old girl from Chad, but TMZ is stating otherwise.
The real question here is why are the tabs turning on Angelina? Is it really because they are jealous of People getting all the exclusive photos, or because they geninuely think something is amiss in Angelina’s public portrayal vs. her private actions? Page Six seems to believe the underlying cause is the animosity also, and suggests that Angie could share the photos from the next adoption in order to assuage the pain and anguish she’s caused all of the competing tabs out there.
From my perspective, I think celebrity magazines are in the business of selling themselves and quite honestly, as a culture we’d rather tear down celebs than build them up. If one magazine, in this case People (coincidentally the most popular of them all) is building Angelina up to be a saint, then the best way to compete, is to tear her down for being a “sinner.” Not rocket science, but certainly smart - and definitely not jealousy. It’s just business.Â
And for Angelina’s part, she isn’t doing herself or her image any favors by saying one thing, then doing another. That rubs even the most ardent fans the wrong way.

Those kids are better off whence they came. I’d rather run around naked with a spear hunting prey and women than living with Hollywood creeps. At least my world is real.

I seem to have lost count of how many little ones she has collected. Hopefully Brad will find it in his heart to love the kids or maybe the well paid nannies will be loving ‘enough’.

There’s plenty of American kids of color that need to be adopted, but whorelina couldn’t be bothered.

What she needs to do is slow down and check out the new film by Neil Breen , Double Down . I give her a lot of credit ….

All I have to say is that it sure is nice to adopt children and give them a better life then they otherwise would have had in an orphanage. However, you really don’t have to adopt all these children and hand them down to nannies just to prove your a saint, there is something called a foster home and if your passionate about helping children why not do that?

I just think it’s unhealthy what she’s doing. The children have been transfered from one orphanage setting to another. Why adopt and hand the children over to nannies, and please don’t say she’s a very busy person. She can afford to spend time nurturing those little children. What’s gonna happen in 15 years time? Mommie Dearest anyone?

I agree with Sian’s comment. 15 years time one or more of these children are going resent sticking out like a sore thumb the media having trailed them everywhere and or competiting for mom’s attention.
