When I look at the lives of these young people, It makes me want to slap them stupid. Only I am afraid I am too late. They are all ready there.

Unfortunately, sociopaths operate by conning people into thinking they are your friend, they care, etc. and then they leave a trail of wreckage and laugh at you for being a fool and believing in them. Per a famous psychologist who studied such intra-species predators, he said, “Some people pull words out of their guts. These people pull words out of their coat pockets.”

In a world of actors, it is hard to know the difference. Having lived in several US cities and regions, I think LA is a far colder city than NY emotionally for all its sunny exterior, and the entertainment industry is the coldest and most inhuman of all. They want their ‘pound of flesh’, and you can take that in a lot of ways.

I think a lot of what we see is the ‘acting out’, reprocussions of prices that were paid naively thinking it would not matter, or worse, things the parents allowed/pushed them into with unscrupulous adults. I think this is part of the reason why you see such a pattern of overstimulated hypersexual ’stars’ trying to escape into ecstacy, oblivion, numbness, or wigging out (excuse the pun) like Britney. You cannot escape yourself. I think there is a very real reason Britney is angry at her mama.

Ultimately, you have to be your own best friend and sometimes your own protective parent. This lesson that is very hard to learn, but you just have to pick yourself up, forgive yourself, ‘fire the bastards’ and take your life back.

As the writer says, it has to begin with you. Unfortunately, as Lindsay desperately seeks positive ‘mirrors’ that comfort her, they are only mirages and manipulations. This Samantha ‘Daughter of Sam’ psychopath has an evil face. The photograph of her looking over the collapsed and vulnerable body of her friend and sometime lover in the car gave me the creeps. She looked like a vampire, and in a very real way, she is.

We are all vulnerable in this manner, being human. I’m rooting for Lindsay to gain self-control, take her life back, and get an industrial sized bag of garlic. She can start with her mama-pimp. Wow, another great friend! however, I’m guessing this is either
a) entirely made up, or
b) revealed by some scummy source inside this pricey rehab selling their soul for a few coins.

Seems hard to believe it would come from a “close friend” who just happens to also be in the same treatment facility at the same time, and is such a close, good friend that they would reveal intimate, private comments from a group session…

I feel celeb’s such as LL willingly put themselves in the public eye, and therefore are open to be mocked and scrutinized, but I definitely draw the line at reporting on anyone’s attendance at AA meetings. A pox on newspapers that would report on ANYONE, celeb or not, seeking help in an anonymous 12-step program. That hurts totally innocent, suffering folks that might shy from seeking help, concerned their anonymity (long-respected in the press until LL) may be violated. I was AMAZED and extremely disapointed that mainstream media reported that LL was “spotted” going to AA meetings a few months ago. A pox on them.
