Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Breast Friend

IMAGE REMOVED PER REQUEST - TO SEE IMAGE GO HERE

The above photo shows a very beautiful story of a mother giving her child what G*d intended for babies, breastmilk. We here at Glosslip applaud Maggie and her daughter Ramona for engaging in the ages old practice of breastfeeding. Not only is this one of the most natural acts of bonding between and mother and child, but the health benefits are endless. We only ask that Maggie show a tiny bit of decorum, as we don’t want her to taint the process with needless exhibitionism.

Trust us when we tell you, Maggie would be hard pressed to find a bigger breastfeeding advocate than us. As someone who breastfed both of her kids until they were like 15, we know the value of breastmilk and how superior it is to the poison that is formula. (Just kidding, they were 3, but formula really does suck in comparison.)

Anyway, as a card-carrying member of the nipple nazi brigade, I salute you Maggie, but do us all a favor, keep the girls covered up. It really is freaky to see someone else’s breasts while out and about doing your errands. Sheesh, ever heard of a blanket?

That said, this is perhpas the most flattering photo I have ever seen of her. Maybe she should show her breasts more often.

Thanks to the pervs as Splash.

  1. Encouraging breastfeeding, but telling her to cover it up? There is no need to cover up anything here. What she is doing is good, natural, and her right. Breastfeeding isn’t an embarassing consequence of having breasts, it is their main purpose. If you are so offended by something so good, you should just turn your head away.

  3. Um, no. Masturbating feels good and is natural too but I sure as hell don’t want to see someone doing it in public.

Public is public, we have social mores for a reason. If women or men aren’t allowed to fondle themselves or walk around naked, then why should the rules be different for breastfeeders?

  5. I don’t know who Maggie is, but she has my vote for doing right by her child.

A newborn’s stomach is about the size of a marble. At day 3, it’s about the size of a shooter marble. And at day 10, it’s about the size of a golf ball. Thus, 10 to 12 feeds in 24 hours are entirely ordinary, even necessary.

Most of today’s mothers regularly go out and about with their children, and since thankfully more and more mothers and children are breastfeeding, it’s no surprise that they will pause, as needed, to do what mothers and children have always done.

Since 1993, legislation has been adopted in nearly 40 US states and Scotland to protect the right of mothers and children to breastfeed wherever they otherwise have a right to be. Perhaps the only thing worse than adopting such legislation is the need to do so in the first place.

Comparing breastfeeding and masturbating - in public or private - is perfectly silly. The first is interactive, vital, and all about providing proper nurturing and nutrition and protecting the health of both mothers and children, now and across the entire life course. The second is solitary and self-limiting.

  7. It’s wonderful. Really glad to see someone so beautiful and confident nurturing their child the normal way. What’s weird is that other people find this strange.

  9. I agree, breastfeeding is a wondeful natural thing, but there is no need to have your boob hanging out in public and no reason why she couldnt put a blanket over herself…..no one is saying that breastfeeding is wrong so there is no need to go into legislation about it, what were saying is wrong is that her boob is flopping in the wind!!!

  11. With boobs like that, I don’t mind her doing it in public…

    I’m a guy, sue me.

  13. Seriously, I doubt anyone would have noticed she was nursing if it weren’t for the camera with the gigantic lens taking her photo. A zoomed in shot makes it very obvious what she is doing.

I personally do not eat my food under a blanket. Why should my baby?

IF you have a problem with how she is feeding her baby, look away.

  15. That’s pretty cool that a celebrity would be confident enough to breast-feed in public. Have we ever seen a celeb do this before? Good for her! Sure, some dudes will enjoy a peek, but otherwise, not a huge deal, people.

  17. To the contrary, James Akre, this is one instance where breastfeeding and masturbating have lots in common! Yow!
