I have a sneaking suspicion that the same people who photoshopped Faith Hill had a hand in Brit's shoot.

Your own article gave you away....why you and many legions of haters and fans alike find Britney Spears so fascinating - "Not because she has created some kind of unique cultural movement or at the forefront of any ground-breaking renaissance of the arts, but simply because she is so precariously teetering on the edge of mental insanity." That may be one of the most twisted things I have ever read - but at least it gives some insight as to why people are riveted by her story. The technical word for what you are expressing is schadenfreude - a Germanic word that describes one who takes pleasure in someone else's misfortune.

You and I have NO idea who Britney Spears is. Her intelligence (or lack thereof??), learning disabilities (??? and where that came from I have no idea)and or mental health is something none of us are privy to. To make judgment calls like you are making is nothing short of ignorant and arrogant (as far as I know you don't have a doctorate in psychology or internal medicine).

If she is teetering on the brink of insanity, then articles like this are just plain sick. You plainly have no experience with the mentally ill because if you did you would realize that arrogance, narcissim and extreme insecurity are inherent aspects of many personality disorders and/or chemical dependencies

Your statement "I just wish she would quit it. And by “it” I mean pretending, pretending that she can re-invent herself without some professional assistance." may be the worst part of what you are saying. Not many people commit career/relationship and social suicide because they are over privileged and over indulged. This is someone that has thrown away every part of her seemingly "successful" life. It may be that many of her actions are truly out of her control. Disorders like postpartum depression, bipolarity and chemical dependency manifest themselves in much the same way. You should think before you write. Not everyone is able to conduct themselves the same way you would in the face of adversity. I just hope someone loves her enough to see her through to the answers - both for her sake and that of her children.
