Will Britney Spears Lose Her Kids? Tots Remain Hopeful
In the continuing drama that is the life of Britney Spears, the latest news to pop up is that Britney’s ex, Kevin Federline, is going balls out to keep her from having custody of their two children, 23-month-old Sean Preston and 11-month-old Jayden James.
K-Fed may even be the responsible party behind the recent investigation by the DCFS and unscheduled hearing to discuss abuse charges. The DCFS is stating they have received several anonymous tips about possible abuse allegations in reference to Britney’s children while in her care. Some sources are claiming that while the abuse claims are not of a physical nature, she is neglecting her responsibilities as their mother, with charges ranging from the bizarre, but completely disgusting assertion that she does not brush their teeth (but uses Crest whitening strips WTF?), gives them booze to make them sleepy and compliant and keeps them up late so they won’t bother her in the morning.
I can totally see this happening. Just look at the above pic. While there is nothing particularly untoward about what’s happening to the untrained eye, as a mother I can see several things that are totally uncool. First and foremost, smoking in front of small children is a exceptionally selfish thing to do, secondly, having your cigarette dangle so closely to their faces is even worse. Then there’s the fact that this little man is completely unclothed outside when she knows there are paps climbing out her every orifice. Not to mention the blank and vacant expression on her face, which if you ask me, looks like someone whose been popping Natural Lite tabs all morning and possibly some Nyquil and Redbull.
And last but not least: Britney + that bathing suit. I guess that’s not really germane to this discussion, I just wanted to mention how much it offended me.
“An unscheduled hearing was held today at L.A. County Superior Court. Present — Britney’s lawyer, Dennis Wasser, K-Fed’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan and a lawyer from the Los Angeles County Counsel who is assigned to the dependency court.
“We do not know the specifics of the allegations but we’re told the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services is conducting an active investigation.
“A hearing in the custody case has been scheduled for September 4, which will be a follow up to today’s appearance.
“A rep for Britney did not immediately return our request for comment.â€
Well, that doesn’t sound good. *Sigh* I don’t know how many different ways I can say this, but I will give it another shot.
Britney is simply too stupid to be a mother. Or in other words, her intelligence quotient is such that she is incapable of making sound judgments when it comes to the care and concern of young minds still in the stages of being formed and molded. People of Britney’s mental abilities are typically assigned to making overpriced lightbulbs that are then sold to guilt-ridden members of society at a greatly increased markup. In summary, there are inanimate objects within our universe when in the presence of children have far more positive impact than Britney Spears. It’s as though she sucks the smart out of a room.
This is all very unfortunate and I feel sorry for her children, and certainly even Britney, who most likely loves her children. Though I imagine her love is akin to the way a toddler loves a new toy: intensely, but fleetingly. Sometimes, loving your children isn’t enough, you have to also be able to formulate appropriate thought patterns in such a way that coincide with basic social mores and scientific evidence available as it applies to child-rearing.
We all want our children to be quiet and compliant much of the time, but that doesn’t mean it’s ok to squander their braincells with booze and sugar, deprive them of sleep and deliberately rot out their teeth.
As strange as it is to say this, these two toddlers would be better off in the care of their father, who as we know, is Kevin Federline. AKA: K-Fed, Shifty McShiftless, Wangsta Extraordinaire, MacDaddy von Baller, Whorey El Whoremonger, ecetera and so on.
This simple fact alone may be the most glaring indictment of one’s failure at motherhood.

Selfish - yes, ignorant sure, in desperate need of guidance most definitely - but there is not a court in the world that would take away parental rights for the above mentioned actions. Nor should they. If they did the system would be clogged with 100’s of thousands of parentless children - many of them coming from Holly weird.
Has anyone questioned Mr. Federline’s request for 70/30 custody. If she was such an abomination as a mother he would have requested sole custody baby - and if he had proof that she was giving them booze and abusing them he would get it. Common people this all about the money and unfortunately no one seems to get that.
There is more to this that meets the eye. Why is no one questioning why K-Fed shaved his head the same day Brit did - and has continued to do so?? Why is no one questioning the ethics of parents that turn their teen age daughter into a sex object before she is 16? Hmmmmm - and I guess the best way to support your possibly mentally ill daughter is to flaunt your support of her ex-in a public manner…
This whole thing is sad. If we are going to persecute Brit than we should also consider the examples that the media neglects - Eddie Murphy, Gavin Rossdale, Tommy Lee just to name a few Hollywood men lacking parental sanity - or what about Kate Moss where are all the articles written about taking away that little girl! There is proof galore that she is living in a drug riddled environment.
I could go on but I don’t have all night. Leave the girl alone. The truth will come out in court. Until then why should she be labeled an abuser.

oh and by the way - what ever happened to the assertion that you are innocent until proven guilty? Anyone can say anything about you anonymously! NO ONE knows what goes on behind closed doors! So far the only proven details of Britney’s life are as follows: She shaved her head, she sought help at a rehabilitation clinic, she smokes in front of her children, she was negligent when strapping them into car seats, she stumbled with her baby, she keeps them out later than most moms, she parties and has various embarrassing pictures of her nether regions making rounds on the internet. oh yeah and she has bad taste in men.

Well, Rak, if you think any of the above declarations of fact are some sort of endorsement of Britney’s parenting skills, I sure hope you aren’t a parent.
If the allegations that she gives her children alcohol are true, my heavens, it hardly gets any worse, except perhaps for beating them.
Britney has systematically removed people from her life who care about her and have taken care of her for most of her life. I haven’t heard ONE thing that her parents have done that weren’t in Britney’s best interest.
Also, if you have ever read or seen interviews with Britney, she wanted to be a pop star from day one and she is often the one making the decisions about her sexual tone in her music and videos. She is a product of her own making, her family were the ones keeping her head on straight. Britney may be saavy at working the media, but she isn’t very bright and certainly lacks the basic judgment a person needs to be a positive role model for their kids.

I was not personally attacking you. You on the other hand seem to feel the need to attack my parenting skills because your reading comprehension skills are limited. If you bothered to read what I wrote I said that the alcohol allegations and any other extreme abuse issues, if proven true will result in her losing custody - but as of today these allegations are unproven! The tabloids and anonymous tips to social services hardly serve as proof that she is doing what the tabloids are reporting.
What I said was that - THANKFULLY in America people are innocent until proven guilty. Most of the documented mistakes she has made thus far are the actions of an irresponsible mom - possibly someone in crises but that is a far cry from declaring someone an unfit parent.

You my friend need to take a long hard look at your own values if you think that 9 - 16 year olds are EVER in the position to clearly decided what they want out of their lives (I wanted to be a model, a teacher, a singer and a geologist - how ’bout you??). Preadolescents and teenagers don’t have that kind of world experience - THAT is what parents are for! Thankfully my parents clamped down on me when I made silly or inappropriate choices at that age - it gave me the coping skills needed for life in the real world.
And how do you know that her parents kept her on the straight and narrow? Money and the pursuit of it does strange things to people. Unless you know their family personally you have no idea what went on behind closed doors - and if you think the PR surrounding their family was real well then you really should really think about taking some courses on marketing.
and don’t you think it is even remotely suspect that their youngest daughter is following the same exact path - with the exception that her mother seems to exercising some sort of parental controls?
Whatever I don’t know these people and I am not going to pretend I do - but something seems a little fishy to me. If she was as insane and as abusive as people are reporting K-fed or the grandparents should be seeking FULL custody and they should be working together to get her the help she needs. A good parent NEVER gives up on their child. They allow them to hit rock bottom - but that doesn’t include allowing them to take the kids with them. My gut says much of this about the money.

I think that this woman cares about her kids, but like everyone needs to have some time to herself sometimes. I think that because she was a child star she had no time to rebell as most teens do, but is doing it now instead. Britney pritty much grew up made a million then got married and had a few kids. So wheres the time of her life where she party’s all nite long, sleeps around and has a laugh?.
She’s just doing now what Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are doing. Being young!. No one is perfect 24-7 and it must be really hard for her being in the public eye so much. I mean you get drunk one nite and the next day’d headline’s are “Britney Spears DRUNK” and “Is Britney an alchaholic”. And K=Fed probally does the exact same thing as Britney only more and goes out and gets drunk probally every nite of the week, but does he get proseeted for it NO!

to rak: are you a little obsessed with Brit? from my untrained eyes it sure seems to be the case. you jump to her rescue no matter how bad she looks. i am sure the media has a hand in blowing some things out of proportion. but always remember pictures never lie. i am not disputing some of your well made points i am simply saying this….if it smells like a pig, acts like a pig, and looks like a pig then damn it must be a pig.

Obsessed? Hardly. I love entertainment sites, especialyl ones with smart and funny commentary like this one. With a baby - a night time job and a dog they provide me with what used to be light hearted entertainment.
Unfortunately I would say that America is obsessed with her. It’s hard to get away from it. But as a mom - I have to admit it hits a chord with me. I do not jump to her defense all the time, but honestly it really seems like a smear campaign. There are so many people living in H-wood with terrible habits. Didn’t a young child die in Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s pool (btw they live like rock stars in the truest sense of the word) rarely do you see commentary re: their parenting skills. Kate Moss - man she must be the worst of the bunch. Where is the public outcry to take away her daughter? I guess a boyfriend that gives his cat cocaine should be trusted around a three year old. The list is long and disturbing. It just annoys me that people vilify this girl and really want to see her collapse. The allegations of bad parenting started immediately with her. Give me a break anyone can trip with a baby or get the car seat rules wrong. It wasn’t until recently that she really appeared to be a negligent parent.
I just think that if all the stories about her are true then she will lose custody of her kids - but until that time why do so many people take so much joy out writing and commenting about a bad situation?

the problem with Brit is that she is seeking any kind of attention whether it be positive or negative. unfortunately, it’s 99% negative. she needs to be put in house arrest until she can get her head on straight. she is the cause of her own personal smear campaign. the more i see what she has done to herself i can’t help but feel sorry for the person she has become[not that i was all that impressed with her former self]. she puts herself on psycho parade just about everyday which is why she receives so much attention. she is obviously begging for the attention of anyone who looks her way.

I heard once awhile back, that Britney’s biggest fans were/had been pre teens/younger teens, and men upwards to 40 yrs years of age. I know one such guy in fact. So ,DON’T EVEN TELL ME that her parents and those who were responsible for her image, did not know this.She was blatantly -(and without impunity)- flagrantly put on display as a much too young sexual object.
