Because that whole set and costume and the entire getup just looks hopelessly juvenile and Barbie-ish to my eyes. If this is her idea of any kind of artistic/creative venture then my Art History Major heart just weeps for her and the future of those unfortunate enough to take anything she does even remotely seriously. "Garish strippers, tramps and trollops whoring it up" about covers it, doesn't it. Very good. Except with a large dollop of Barbie, in case you weren't already nauseous enough. Is that what she's going to take to the refugee camps in war-torn Rwanda? There's nothing to balm the gaping wounds left by genocide and starvation like a little Barbie princess with oversized feet spraying you with "Can Can," eh? I'm sure the impoverished mothers of Rwanda can just spray a little "Can Can" on their starving infants and everything will just be pink and pretty. If we could all just talk in little squeaky Barbie voices, we could attain world peace, folks! Was she - really - trying to act smart and sophisticated?
