Britney Spears Loses Custody, Boys Gone To Live With Daddy K-Fed

jaydensean.jpg

TMZ is reporting that broken-down pop star Britney Spears has lost custody of her children and they are to remain with their father, Kevin Federline beginning this Wednesday. From the breaking story:

L.A. County Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon issued an order today stating that Kevin Federline, the boys’ father, “is to retain physical custody of the minor children on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:00 PM until further order of the court.”

Didn’t see that one coming. I mean what, with Britney lying low, keeping her nose clean, focusing on her parental skillz, who would’ve thought she’d lose custody of her kids. She’s a regular Mary Poppins, she is!

All sardonic wit aside, this Britney thing is getting out of control. I like making fun of celebrities as much as the next person, but making fun of Britney just isn’t fun anymore. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel. The jokes write themselves and really, how much entertainment can be gleaned from poking a stick at a crazy person whose barely able to function at a third grade level?

Someone needs to help this poor girl. I have to think that at some level in all of this, her family is working behind the scenes by making life really miserable for her, perhaps, in an effort to help her. Sort of like tough love for idiots. Surely losing her children will drive her over the edge and hopefully into a facility where she can be properly treated. Not only does she suffer from substance abuse problems, but she seems to be suffering from some sort of debilitating mental issues as well. Some have suggested schizophrenia or manic depression. Whichever it is, she is not being properly treated for it, and let’s face it, Britney’s not going to figure this one out for herself.

For the LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, please someone, help Britney.

  3. Maybe she saw what hard work it was to even *pretend* to be a mom that she decided that, like an ill-fitting pair of hideous brown cowboy boots, she’d return the kids to where she got them.
Only in Hollywood can someone that messed up come out looking sympathetic.
How long until we see photos of her living it up at Hyde or someplace, sucking on a lollypop, wearing a too-tight stained blouse and no pants?

  7. This has to be the final straw. Somewhere I feel like K-Fed, at the risk of looking like the bad-guy here, is doing this not only for the safety of his kids, but also to help Britney.

Sometimes you have to lose it all, to see how far you’ve fallen.

Feel free to insert any applicable cliches here ________!

  9. I am happy that the children will finally be somewhere more stable (ugh who ever thought I would say that about k-fed???) but they shouldn’t let her retain custody until Wed @ 12:00 that gives her way too much time to run - or do something worse yet. I think this girl has the lamest family ever. Honestly. It’s not necessarily their fault that she has problems (although that argument could be made) but man - tough love doesn’t work with insanity. They need to gets their heads out of their arses and realize that this is serious. Poor girl, there was no end of close family members and hangers on when she was making the cash, adored by millions. That whole family owes her a huge debt - someone should write an article about this - maybe the negative publicity would make her fame seeking mama step up to the plate so Britney gets the help she needs before she ends up dead - because I have a feeling that is where rock bottom might be if they don’t watch out.

  11. Well it’s good to see the courts are there doing their thing. The entire scenario is a trailer park disaster, played out larger than life, solely because of the Hollywood fame machine and success of the merchandisers that turned this empty vessel into a brand name. In the end, her sought-after fame was her “downfall” - after all, if the paparazzi weren’t following her every minute of the day (and I do believe those stories that she calls them herself!) then we might not have had the footage of the parking lot hit-and-run, of her continuingly driving despite not having a license, etc.

And ultimately, I sadly feel she is probably too selfish to care that deeply - It’s Hard Work said it perfectly above, “How long until we see photos of her living it up at Hyde or someplace, sucking on a lollypop, wearing a too-tight stained blouse and no pants?” On another site, I saw someone comment that she’s well on her way to going down the same path Michael Jackson has before her - no longer popular but still a household name, no longer relevant in terms of current styles or tastes, but known to all, who can’t help but stare out of repulsed fascination at the aging pop star who still thinks they’re hot and sexy, but who in fact is a walking disaster, like some sort of living dead freakshow.

  13. I made that same comparison a few weeks ago to my husband. Remember when Michael Jackson was loved by all, and then because of his fame and insular life he descended into a slippery slope of weirdness that no one could relate to, and alas his name is tainted forever. Bankrupt financially and morally.

I sure hope that isn’t Britney’s fate. While she is a loon, even at this point she isn’t doomed. If she can get a handle on her life and listen to those who have her best interests at heart, she can at least gain some self-respect and MAYBE have a career again.

It will be a long road. As for MJ, once you are branded a child molester, you are done in my book.

  15. Comparing her to MJ is a little rough. Anyway she was never and “empty vessel” she was a talented little girl that obviously wasn’t strong enough, for whatever reasons, to keep herself together in H-wood and from the previous performances of other h-wood stars that isn’t too surprising. She is just another casualty. You couldn’t pay me enough to work in that industry.

  17. Guess she handed over the kids - my bad thought it was on Wed. Best for all. Poor girl.

  19. I, personally, have never thought she was particularly talented, sorry. I think we get this bubble-gum crap foisted on us by the mass culture merchandising machine and it lowers everybody’s standards - it’s too bad that this passes as talent. That’s my opinion, probably not yours I guess.

  21. No I agree with the basics - but there was no denying she had some talent - she could dance and definitely had some stage presence. Not my cuppa tea - but then again not an empty vessel (Just in my humble opinion).

  23. Okay ebayer, I can respectfully agree to meet you somewhere in the middle. :) Not completely empty, not back then anyway…dunno about now, she’s looking pretty hollow these days. Frighteningly so, in fact. I read on TMZ that she did nothing the judge wanted her to - what’s going on with her?! I’m not a mom but from everything I know, most would go to any lengths to keep their kids. She must just be out of her head.
