Brit Gets Court-Supervised Visitation Only, May Or May Not Re-Enter Rehab
How things can change in the course of a day!
I began this twenty-four hour cycle by writing about what a neglectful, selfish mother Britney is, and how she should not get custody, even half the time, of her sons Sean and Jayden. I am ending it by writing that the Court has awarded DadFed full custody, and that Brit can have visitation only with court supervision. Maybe if I go to bed now, by the time I wake up Brit will be clean and sober!
There is another hearing set for October 26, and both parties must attend:
TMZ has learned L.A. County Commissioner Scott Gordon has ordered Britney and K-Fed to court at the next hearing, set for October 26.
We’ve learned on Monday, Commissioner Gordon said he would not order the parties to court [on Wednesday, October 3], but made it clear that it would be a good idea for them to show. Sources say Britney’s lawyer, Sorrell Trope, asked Britney to show but she wouldn’t. Kevin showed up, along with his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan. It was the first appearance in court by either one. Britney spent some of her afternoon at a Shell gas station in the San Fernando Valley.
Britney’s lawyer argued that the ruling on Monday was unfair and he asked to reinstate the 50/50 custody arrangement. The judge declined to do it.
The next hearings are set for October 26 and November 26. Britney and K-Fed must be there for the October 26 [hearing].
You might think that Brit would be overjoyed at this news, even if she didn’t go to court. You might also think that since she technically could spend at least some (supervised) time with her sons today, she would take advantage of this opportunity. However, if you are thinking, you are not Britney Spears. She celebrated by driving aimlessly around Los Angeles with the paps (undoubtedly including the biased ones on her dime) following like ducks:
“This was no chase,” a witness explains to OK!. “Britney drove well below the speed limit, smiling, laughing and posing for photos.” According to the witness, the pop star made two illegal U turns on busy, six-lane Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills (including one right in front of OK!’s West Coast office) before finally ending up at the Beverly Wilshire — her second posh hotel in just as many days. She had previously been holed up at the Peninsula Hotel.
So now she is holed up in yet another luxury hotel, while her McMansion sits empty. I suppose she has a reason for hiding away in a hotel instead of in her home…maybe she truly can’t stand to be in her house with the reminders of her children there. I don’t know. But hiding away in a hotel is highly unusual, and somewhat worrying. I said in an earlier post that I was worried she might do some harm to herself, and I still believe it. Her world as she knows it is crumbling around her, she has no support system, her children were basically given to their father, she is estranged from her parents, her music career is foundering, she has no clue how to function in the real world, and I truly believe she is headed straight for rock bottom if she is not yet there already.
In other news, there are stirrings that Brit might check herself back into rehab, more specifically the Promises Centre in Antigua, as soon as Saturday, according to a “pal” of the singer. However, her “cousin” Alli (who moved out of Brit’s posh pad earlier today) denies this, saying that there are no plans for Brit to go to rehab any time soon. Quite frankly, I don’t believe a word that comes from Britney’s camp (what there is left of it) and like I said, I’ll believe it when I see it and not before.
People might think that all I do is sit here and churn out “OMG UNFITNEY!” posts. And I’ll be the first to admit that I am not now, nor have ever been, a fan. But I am a fan of children, and it hurts me greatly to see a young mother, with her whole life ahead of her, throw it away and give drugs and alcohol her priority. Do I believe Brit loves her boys? You know what…I do believe she does, somewhere buried deep down inside under the alcohol and drugs and Cheetos.
But I also believe that since these addictions have taken hold of her, she is incapable of loving anything or anyone but herself. That is typical addict behavior. Getting their next high becomes their only priority. Britney selfishly wants her children around while simultaneously being incapable of caring for them. She wants the court to believe she is changed while at the same time thumbing her nose at everything she was asked to do. She wants it all, yet wants to work for nothing, and she wants to deny that there is a problem…everyone else has the problems, y’all.
The drugs and alcohol have taken over her life to the point where she can no longer function. I sincerely hope that she does check into rehab again, but like I said…believe it when I see it. I don’t know what else can happen to her at this point that will make her wake up and see she is throwing it all away, but I do know that addicts must reach that place on their own. Nobody can do it for them. I just hope it does not take something tragic to truly wake this girl up.
When she does reach that place, I pray there will be somebody there to help her.
