She Doesn’t Dance Any Better Here.
I just watched this video for Gimme More, the first single off Britney Spears’ new CD.
I don’t know, maybe I just don’t get the point of this. You’ve got a blonde Brit, in what looks to be a very cheesy wig from the Carol Channing collection, standing at the bar looking…confused? Interested? Constipated? I don’t know, but she’s looking at brunette Brit, clad in black leather and fishnets, with a stick-on tattoo from one of those machines at the supermarket, spinning round and round and round and round what I think must be a stripper pole on a very cheaply done prop stage. Intercut with this are shots of backup dancers (again outdancing Brit), her friends at the bar, and a guy who looks suspiciously like Kevin Federline.
Watch for when the lyrics say, “I see you…” and blonde Brit flips around and looks! Woah!
It was made pretty clear that this was “Britney’s concept and her vision.”

And on and on like that. I’d post the whole thing but it just gets redundant after a while.
So I don’t get it. The song is about dirty dancing, flirting, and sex. (basically) Brit is watching herself, or possibly her alter ego, or something. And while she’s watching this song about sex and stuff is playing. So does Brit want to have sex with herself? She wants to dirty dance with herself? She has a split personality? She has an evil twin! That’s it, Brit has an evil twin sister, and she’s the one who’s been dropping babies and shaving her head and forgetting her underwear. It’s all so clear to me now. I’m glad we could clear this up.
Is it just me, or does this whole thing look like it was shot in somebody’s garage?

That’s interesting information – I didn’t know much about schizoaffective disorder – but it looks like she would have to be suffering from hallucinations and catatonic periods – in my humble opinion she seems like a text book case of bipolarity – possibly rapid cycling – thus the self medicating and the appearance of grandiosity (narcissism) and extreme insecurity:
Symptoms of mania – the “highs” of bipolar disorder
* Increased physical and mental activity and energy
* Heightened mood, exaggerated optimism and self-confidence
* Excessive irritability, aggressive behavior
* Decreased need for sleep without experiencing fatigue
* Grandiose delusions, inflated sense of self-importance

* Impulsiveness, poor judgment, distractibility
* Reckless behavior

Interesting. I’ve seen lots of people speculating that she could be bipolar, to which my answer is, “But does that explain her hair?” Because I think one of the main visible manifestations we’ve been seeing is the horrific state of her hair. No celebrity with their head screwed on straight would go out in public with hair like that, much less appear looking like that ALL THE TIME. So this tells me she’s delusional and thinks she actually looks good when in fact she looks like shit. However, the last entry above in the manic category does cover that. Hopefully some day we will learn the truth!

It would be nice if someone found out the truth before she really does something she can’t come back from. You know her hair is reminiscent of someone who lives from one blindly drunk night into another. I don’t think she has a clue how bad she looks.

You know what, I’ll admit that there was a time in my life when I lived like that ^^. And my hair was definitely one of the casualties…but I can honestly say it never looked quite that bad. And I hit a pretty low spot in life, the kind few people are able to recover from. I think the drugs are a major contributor, but I don’t think that’s all that’s going on.
Britney’s sick, she needs help…ad nauseum, round and round we go, ha ha! I guess she really is an entertainer after all.

Yes, I think that’s why I am fascinated/horrified by her because but for the grace of god there go I. I was a singer and unfortch loved the booze. But something clicked in me and said “whooooooh. Wait a minute here.” Luckily I had a fab mom and friends and admittedly did not have 200 papz following me to document in all. Anywho. I am a mom now and thankfully happy and healthy. I just hope that someone loves her enough to pull out all the stops – because I don’t think that tough love is going to work in this case. She really needs some serious help.
