Jamie Spears Plans Intervention For Britney, But Blows Element Of Surprise

When I read this article about Jamie Spears (dad, not daughter….how confusing to have your daughter and your husband [ex-husband now] share a name, and what is with her middle name being the same as her mother’s, didn’t Lynne have access to any baby name books?) I was reminded of the line in the Disney movie Aladdin, in which Iago the parrot responds to an obvious statement from Jafar: “Oh, there’s a big surprise! That’s an incredible…I think I’m gonna have a heart attack and die, from that surprise!”
Yeah, it’s kind of like that.
Britney Spears’ estranged dad is so worried by her erratic behaviour he wants to have her committed.
Jamie Spears has consulted lawyers about staging an “intervention†to get Britney into therapy.
He has told pals he is worried the troubled 25-year-old star could harm herself or her boys if her bizarre antics continue.
A source close to Jamie - who Britney refuses to speak to after accusing him of cashing in on her fame - said: “He is consulting lawyers about the best way to help Britney.
“He feels they need to stage an intervention to get her into rehab or some kind of therapy.
“He is worried she is going to harm herself or the boys.”
Um….isn’t an intervention supposed to be a surprise? Aren’t you supposed to get together with a professional and some close family and friends, and then lay down the law? Go to rehab/therapy or forget any further help from us? I honestly don’t think the Spears clan could handle that, because that would mean they were out of the spotlight, however much on the fuzzy edges of it they might be.
Mr. Spears’ heart might be in the right place, but his brain has taken a coffee break. You’ve lost the element of surprise, man! Dude, I seriously hope there is a Plan B?
And who is this “source close to Jamie”, anyway? Why do people discuss things like this with other people? You’d think they’d know someone is going to trot off to the press and spill. Unless that was the plan all along. Oh yeah, there’s a good plan…maybe Brit will read this and come to her senses. That’ll totally work. It was the missing piece of the puzzle. Why didn’t someone think of it before?
And, of course, there’s every reason to think that this “source” is Jamie himself. I’m not saying I know that for a fact, I’m just saying it would not surprise me. Nothing this bunch of hilljacks do surprises me. It’s like a surreal episode of “The Beverly Hillbillies”.
I’ve always wondered about her family, and now I have even more reason to wonder. They can sure give Anna Nicole’s relatives a good run for their money.

Brits’ Mom has been a great Mom and I wonder if this author has ever accomplished anything? Britney is the pop star because of the efforts of her Mom. Brit is not a great singer or a great dancer but the show was always good as a total package.
Brits’ Dad needs to stop believing the press of lies created by K-Fed in an effort to get more of her money.
If Britney wants to consult a psychologist for the depression K-Fed has caused her, she does not need her lost Dad to help. Her RANDOM drug testS are clean and if she were addicted to the drugs her body guard (the fired one) claimed then she would be very skinny which she is not.

Give me a break… I feel for Britney but the woman has brought this on herself with her long-standing pursuit of a double-life, her bad choices and questionable associates. It is Britney that has cheapened Britney with her selfish behaviour, her sloppy/slutty dress (put some underwear on for God’s sake!) and her erratic behaviour that shouts for all to hear that something is definitely not right. It’s obvious she’s chosen to ignore the advice of her handlers, family and close friends. I agree that it is super sad and distressing to read/hear about her situation but until she takes responsibility for the mess she has created/contributed to and asks for serious help, it’s unlikely things will improve for her. As far as her parents go, who knows what kind of parents they were? They obviously love their children, but then again there is more to parenting than simply loving your child. It’s apparent that, for whatever reason, she lacks the basic skills and common sense to function in day-to-day living. She demonstrates that she is out of touch with reality, barely able to take care of herself let alone her children, and yet she is completely consumed with self. Is she a reflection of her parental upbringing? Is she emulating what she learned at home? Is her parenting style different from the one she experienced growing up? Who knows. What we do know is that her priorities appear to be skewed in favor of herself and her own needs over others, even her children. For example, the excuse for her absence at the court hearings where her lawyers are fighting to get her babies back is that it is due to the constant media attention, yet she has no qualms with the constant media attention when going to Starbucks once or twice a day? The judgement to remove her children at this time is probably the right one as something is seriously wrong in the State of Britney.
I sincerely wish her the best and hope something can drag her out of this huge mess.
