Probably The Best Article About Britney Spears, Ever
(I use this photo because it seems to epitomise Brit’s attitude towards everything and everyone lately, including herself.)
I’m not even going to attempt to condense this article in Guardian Unlimited, or offer my thoughts….this article says it better than I ever could. It does confirm one of my long-held theories about Britney, and that is that she suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. As someone who also deals with this often misunderstood problem, I can recognize the signs a mile away…and that’s how far away you need to stay from Brit, as she does not like to be touched (neither do I).
Brit, there IS help, for OCD and addictions and mental illness. Please, seek it. And if anyone in Brit’s camp is reading this, please….do whatever it takes to get her some help.
You can read the full article here.

That was an amazing, revealing and upsetting article. She is more like Elvis and Michael Jackson in their later years than I would have imagined.
All the fame, money and power and not an ounce of a clue or a hint normalcy.
I feel all sorts of grossed out and confused. Sad, for sure.

thought that was an insightful article. Do you think her family will step up to the plate?

I don’t know if they will or not. I HOPE so, but they seem to be either too out of it themselves or too afraid of Brit to do anything.
Sadly….I really think something horribly bad is going to have to happen before Brit realizes she needs help.

You know I can’t shake the thought that something bad might have happened to her while she was growing up to make her such a damaged person. I was watching some of her early footage and she was really charming and beautiful. It’s impossible to relate the girl she has become to THE Britney Spears in the day. Man! What a change – you are talking only a few years. I think you are right – something tells me rock bottom isn’t here yet. To be honest I am not sure she has one. Oh well.

I have thought the same thing. I’m working up something about it, but I have to have exactly the right articles to back up my theory. It’s a work in progress.

Wow, really good article! D you are right…it truly is like watching Elvis in his bloated later years. I half expect her to be pounding peanut butter and banana sandwiches. And she has all the weirdness of Michael Jackson, too. Maybe she should buy Neverland Ranch. It really does show that when a child doesn’t have a normal upbringing, there’s no roots and stability to help that child become a fully functioning adult. She may bring in the cash, but she is NOT a fully functioning human being. I hope for her sake that she listens to someone, and finally gets the help she needs. I expect at any time, to hear that she’s checked out, ala Anna Nicole Smith.

You aren’t alone Ann. I think everyone’s afraid of that. While some think that those of us who criticize her are just getting our kicks out of picking on a sick person, a lot of it is just a real sense of frustration in a person who has SO much going for her, has chosen to recede into a dark hole of non-reality.
It really pisses me off she won’t help herself.

#11….if you look very closely, in the last sentence of the article, you’ll find that it reads thusly:
And if you look even closer, and hover your pointer (that’s the arrow on your screen that comes up now and then) over the word “here”, you’ll find that it automagically turns into a hand. And if you then take that little hand on the screen and click on that word “here”, it opens up a page that indeed has said article.
I never said I wrote the article or that this paragraph was the article, I just linked to it.
I know it’s easy to overlook these simple things. It’s okay, we all goof up. If all that is too much work for you, let me know and I’ll email you the page so you don’t have to work too hard.

Yes Jizz, you can always email for some help with reading the article. We’re nothing if not helpful around here.

Oh, K posted this article, not D. Perhaps we need to identify ourselves better around here.
