A Pregnant Nicole Richie Tells Surgeon General To Blow It

Apparently, over fifty years of refuted clinical scientific data means nothing when you are a celebrity. Clearly having a healthy baby means nothing to certain celebs either.
An article in the New York Post states a very pregnant Nicole Richie has been seen smoking on at least two occasions. Of course we can only imagine what she does when people aren’t around to catch her in the act. Ts, tsk, I really had hoped she’d have better sense. Then again, she’s probably prepping her body for that post-baby weight-loss diet of ciggies and diet Red Bull. You can never be too thin, too rich or too stupid in Hollywood.
MOMMY-to-be Nicole Richie. 3:30 p.m. Pony tail, black jeans, waistcoat. Exits DaSilvano with one young girl, one middle-age lady. On the sidewalk, after checking who’s at which outdoor tables, she lights up. They jump into a waiting black Caddy Escalade, Nicole into the front seat. Still smoking.Three days later, 7:30 p.m., Nobu. For somebody who doesn’t eat, she sure frequents lots of restaurants. She’s there with the baby in the bun’s father. They leave. Outside she lights up again.
Now, two cigarettes doesn’t necessarily equal a premature baby, a baby with asthma, an underweight baby or any other host of issues that smoking while pregnant can cause. But it doesn’t help either. I won’t get into the various degrees of how gross and unhealthy smoking is for an adult, because by now, we all know the dangers of smoking.
But to expose your unborn child to any needless toxins shows a real lack of maternal instincts, a vast degree of selfishness and absolutely ZERO discipline.
Whatever, chances were pretty good her baby is already at a major disadvantage anyway, just look at the parents.

She’s a disgusting slut. Poor kid, as if having Nicole Richie for a mother is torment enough. Hope it will be healthy without any after effects from her smoking.

ha maybe you should learn to do your job better before you post a bunch of bs and start coming down on people. Nicole richie has been out of the country in Australia and Thailan with boyfriend Joel Madden until the 27th where she has only be in LA. this is a FAIL
Comment by lol — October 29, 2007 @ 5:12 pm
Uhm, #2…Nicole hasn’t been out of the country for seven months. She’s only been gone for about a month, has been back for a couple of days, and has been photographed many times Stateside before her recent foray down under AND since she has returned.
Besides, D was only quoting Cindy Adams, who is a heavyweight in the celeb news world with many contacts. Perhaps a reading-comprehension skills course is in your future?

We don’t create the news, we just report on it.
K, you may be on to something, perhaps there should be some sort of litmus test before people can read the stories. You know, weed out the knuckleheads.

“The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they’re going to have some pretty annoying virtues.” Well duh………doesn’t her body belong to her?
Comment by TN Slave — October 29, 2007 @ 6:10 pm
#5: Nope. Her body doesn’t belong to her. When you’re pregnant, you’re merely the pod that the baby incubates in, and it is your FIRST responsibility to make sure you are healthy and not putting crap into it. Nothing else matters.
I’d also say it includes not jetting off to foreign climes, but that really isn’t the point of the post.
Comment by k — October 29, 2007 @ 6:16 pm
Hey TN Slave, are you out of your f*cking mind? Nicole engaging in a mindless vice is more important than creating the healthiest environment for her unborn child, a child mind you, whom she chose to bring into the is world.
Really now. I sure am glad you aren’t my mother, because you sound like a real winner. And by winner, I mean a real asshole.

Yuck - seems to be me frame of mind today. She sucks. You know I feel for mom’s that do everything in their power to have a healthy baby and it’s taken out of their hands by genetics or fate. To smoke and/or drink and drug during pregnancy is just plain irresponsible. There is no way to justify it - it’s just selfish. NR can do what she likes but I don’t know how she can sleep. It makes you wonder what other dirty habits she still maintains.

I think that was an outtake from the simple life and that was a pillow.
Comment by ebayer — October 29, 2007 @ 8:00 pm
Crud. Well that backfired.
Still, she hasn’t been in Australia for the entirety of her pregnancy, just about a month, and she’s been back for a couple of days. Plenty of time for photogs to get shots of her smoking.

Well now, companies are perfectly justified in greeting potential job applicants with the message “Smokers Need Not Apply, Fat People Need Not Apply & questions of do you have High Health Risk Factors”? Next, you will have to apply for a Health Permit to have a Baby?
Comment by TN Slave — October 29, 2007 @ 8:17 pm
When a woman becomes pregnant, she should WANT to put that baby first. She should WANT to do all she can to be healthy so that the baby has a better chance of being born healthy. It shouldn’t be a matter of a health permit…it should be an unselfish decision on the part of the mother.
I understand it is an addiction…but addictions can be controlled, if you choose to get help. She can, she chooses not to. You tell me just who she’s putting first here.
Justification of one’s actions can come back to haunt you.

Some of the perfect mother’s of the world agree they are “so tired of always trying to think of the right thing to say & do for their kids that they decided on doing & saying whatever they want and will volunteer to pay for the KIDS therapy in eighteen years.”
Comment by TN Slave — October 29, 2007 @ 9:01 pm
#13: Heh. It’s been fun, but since no sane person would make a statement like that, and certainly no loving mother, I’ll leave you to yourself. After all, against someone like you, it’s rather unfair of me to continue…rather like shooting fish in a barrel. Especially since all you’re doing is chain-yanking, rather than putting up an intelligent discussion. Have a nice day!
Comment by k — October 29, 2007 @ 9:08 pm
huh? What’s going on with poster # 13? I thought people have been doing that for quite some time - and society is finally footing the bill. Love, direction, time and inspiration is what kids need. It’s so strange that you would say something as ignorant as that - it’s exactly that sort of attitude that is responsible for our screwed up environment, deterioration of our school systems, childhood obesity, rampant drug abuse - the list goes on……raising healthy, happy children requires sacrifice. It’s a tough job. Don’t do it if you don’t want to - there’s something called the pill.
Comment by ebayer — October 29, 2007 @ 9:11 pm
you know k I hope they are chain yanking but unfortunately there are people out there that think that way.
Comment by ebayer — October 29, 2007 @ 9:14 pm
Yeah, I know. In this particular case, either the person is really just yanking chains, or they really are that ignorant…either way, I’m bored with one-upping them. It’s really no challenge.

I would like to know what’s up with all their comments being put into quotations marks. Are they speaking in the third person, or perhaps confused about the appropriate use of punctuation?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Remember Brit’s “air quotes” thing in her interview with Matt Lauer? Yeah, it’s “like that”.
Comment by k — October 30, 2007 @ 7:59 am
Things like this are soo lame, these places they claim to have seen her at are popernatzi hang outs, you think if they can report seeing her doing this they should also have pics galore. Do you see a pic???? Nope yet we all know Britney doesn’t wear undies….
Get some proof or get a real story, this is retarded regardless who it is about.

Do you seriously have nothing better to do than to bash on her? Seriously. Not saying that Nicole is an adequate role model but seriously. Finding every little thing you can about her and then bashing her on it isn’t exactly interesting.
Seriously, do you follow pregnant mother-to-be’s down the road who light up a smoke and tell them what they are doing is wrong? Or do you find it easier to bash someone over the internet because you can’t bring yourself to post your views to someone’s face. Seriously, find a new hobby. Some mom’s smoke, some don’t. It’s really not up to anyone but the mom. I don’t think her smoking is a good thing, but with the stress she goes through daily isn’t enough, what with -gossip- columns writing about her smoking, and people snapping pictures of her whenever they can, and all the rest of the stuff that comes with being a celebrity, are you going to say she’s worse than other mom’s who choose to smoke due to daily stress? Get an effin’ life.

Thanks, Amy….you make our jobs so much easier by being such a good example of what we’re talking about. Keep it up!
