Heather Mills Compares Herself To Kate McCann, Claims She Has Received Death Threats From ‘Underground Movement’

Oh, Sir Paul…how you must rue the day when you married Heather with no prenup.

Heather went on British telly today and slammed the press for their coverage of her divorce from Sir Paul McCartney.  In an animated conversation, she claimed, among other things, that she contemplated suicide:

She dismissed claims of a massive divorce settlement as rubbish, claims she owes £1.5 million legal fees and said she had received death threats.

Ms Mills said: “I considered killing myself because I thought if I am dead, she [my daughter Beatrice] can be safe with her father.”

She blames a “certain party” for spreading rumors about her:

She also accused a “certain party” of spreading smears against her to prevent the truth coming out and claimed she and four-year-old Beatrice had received death threats.

Ms Mills added: “I have a box of evidence that’s going to a certain person should anything happen to me, so if you top me off it’s still going to that person, and the truth will come out.”

She added: “I can sell my story right now. I’m trying to protect Paul and our daughter. I am trying, and I’m being pushed to the edge.”

She claims she has had death threats:

Speaking to Fiona Phillips on GMTV, Ms Mills said: “There is so much fear from a certain party of the truth coming out that lots of things have been put out and done, so the police came round and said, ‘You have had serious death threats from an underground movement’. ”

She said: “I am the one that is abused daily. I have protected Paul for this long and I am trying to protect him but I don’t want my daughter when she is 12 going on the internet and reading this onesided story.”

And she compares herself to fellow Briton Kate McCann, who’s daughter Madeline vanished while they were on holiday in Portugal:

In an emotional interview she compared her situation to the McCanns, saying: “Look what they’re doing to the McCanns. The woman and the poor father have lost their daughter.

“What are we doing as a nation? What are we doing persecuting a woman that is devastated behind closed doors and trying to hold it together as I have for eighteen months.”

Now, I realize that in a divorce, there are always going to be two stories, and the truth lies somewhere in between.  While we all might like to think we know Sir Paul, seeing as he is a musical icon, the truth is we don’t truly know him…we just know what he lets us see.  And we know even less about Heather, although she talks so much that we ought to know everything from what she had for dinner last night to what brand of toilet paper she buys.  Could there be some truth to what she says?  Well, her name is Heather, her ex’s name is Paul, so those two things are correct at least.

While she does make a few good points, she doesn’t realize that how you say something (or how many times you say something) is as important as what you say.  I have a feeling that neither Sir Paul nor Heather are quite the monsters the press has made them out to be.  However, I’m sure there are things that went on in their marriage that, should they be made known, would be embarrassing for both of them…although, at this point, I’m not sure what else we could learn that we haven’t already.  I mean, the woman Never. Shuts. Up.  From everything I’ve read about her, she is a controlling, manipulative, lying b*tch (remember her impersonating that journalist named…Heather Mills?).  She likes publicity, and she goes for it in very bizarre ways.  Really, these tirades (yes, there were more than one, on different stations) just made her look ridiculous.

heathercane.jpgThe more Heather talks, the worse she makes herself look.  Paul has taken the high road here and said very little about his divorce, while it seems that every time you turn around Heather is doing some sort of interview and ranting about this or that.  I don’t think Sir Paul is above using his fame to spin some facts, but I also don’t think Heather is above doing the same.  I know she is currently walking around needing surgery on her pelvis (the screws in it came undone, presumably when she was shooting Dancing With The Stars), and I hope the best for that, but that doesn’t mean anything in a divorce settlement.  I mean, people walk around in pain, needing surgery, and/or with prosthetic limbs every day, yet it isn’t brought up in every conversation or referred to in every injustice.  We shouldn’t feel more sympathy for her because of a physical problem…people with physical disabilities can be jerks too.

I wish she and Sir Paul could just work this out.  Their daughter is caught in the middle and that is the sad part.

But I will say this…she has a lot of balls comparing herself to Kate McCann.  Yes, the press has been hounding both women, yes the press has printed some sensational things about both women, but the circumstances are completely different.  Kate has lost her daughter to some sort of horrible abduction…but the last I knew, Heather could still walk into the other room and see her daughter.  She also compares herself to Princess Diana, in terms of media attention…sorry Heather, you’re no Princess Di.

(I will ask this…if she is in so much pain, why is she constantly wearing shoes like that?  Those just make it worse…she needs some trainers, as they say in Britain.)

  1. Beautifully put. It seems it is ok for Heather to say and print bad things about others, but no one can say anything against her or she will run crying. She is a nasty piece of work.
