Paparazzi Spotter Seriously Injured While Chasing Britney Spears

britcarexit.jpg

It was just a matter of time.

According to That Other Blog, a paparazzi spotter (someone who rides behind the cars and tails the star, then tips off the paps on where they go) has been seriously injured while following Britney Spears:

An X17 paparazzi has just ran over another paparazzi on a motorcycle while chasing Britney Spears who had just come out of The Four Seasons Hotel. Our source tells us that this ocurred as the caravan of chasers were making a right turn on Santa Monica Blvd. and Rexford Dr. in Beverly Hills. The paparazzi was hit by a silver range rover and was literally smashed under its wheels. From what we hear, the body went into seizure and then it just stopped moving. It doesn’t look like he made it, according to our source.

7:35 PM PT Update:
We were just informed the paparazzo is alive, but in critical condition. He suffered broken legs, broken arms and a broken back, according to our source.

britpaps.jpgThis has gotten totally out of control.  I’m not blaming Brit directly for this, because she is not the one who hit the guy.  But like I’ve pointed out before, you can’t court the press and then turn off the attention when you don’t want it.  In the past, Brit has either herself phoned in tips to where she is going to be or had one of her people do it for her, so that the paps could meet her there and create a photo-op.  There are even rumors that a certain agency, whom she asks for by name constantly and who always has “EXCLUSIVES” on her stories, is actually on her payroll (although lately, I’m not so sure, and after all it is just a rumor).

So it is no surprise that someone has gotten seriously injured in the act of following Brit around.  She seems to think that she can have the paps there when she wants them to be, and then turn around and shoo them away when she doesn’t want them there.  She just does not realize that it doesn’t work that way.  This isn’t a game and she doesn’t get to make the rules.

The original story says that next time it might be Britney who is hurt.  Well, next time it could be her sons.  Or an innocent bystander.  Remember when the Crazy Screaming Woman went after Brit and Jamie Lynn?  What if that had been someone with a gun?  There were little kids there at the time, screaming in fear from the crush of paps.  What if someone had been seriously hurt then?

She creates this sort of chaos wherever she goes.  What’s going to happen next time?  If I was Kevin, I wouldn’t want my sons riding around in this sort of circus either.

Not saying she should be a prisioner in her house, but she needs to lay low and get out of the public eye for a while, instead of driving all over the place at all hours doing things she could easily send someone to do.  But how much you wanna bet we’ll see her out tomorrow at Starbucks?

Our best to the injured person and we hope he recovers.

UPDATE:  According to TMZ (am I allowed to use TMZ as a reference), the person was released last night with just a tire mark on their arm, no broken bones or internal injuries.  Wow!  Wonder if they’re right?

  1. I blame her. Not sure that’s fair, but I blame her anyway. I also blame her for global warming, abject poverty, migraines and this nasty case of athlete’s foot I have.

  3. Well, that’s just a little more information than I ever needed to know. ;)

  5. Sorry Fools but Britney is in no way to blame for one paparazzi hitting another. If the paparazzi was from TMZ or any tabloid which reprints TMZ news without researching and obtaining facts can blame themselves. I think it may be karma…bad karma from printing false stories about Britney like the one that claims she failed a drug test when in fact the test only proved that she was taking her prescription as prescribed.

  7. Uh. I did say she didn’t cause the crash or hit the guy. And the other comments were using what is called sarcasm.

Try using your reading comprehension skills, mkay?

  9. Aren’t you the same “zoom” who tried to rip into me the other day about Brit running the red light, then had to turn around and admit that I was right after all, because I posted the link in the ORIGINAL article and you overlooked it? And aren’t you the same person who told me what a sh*t writer I was when I posted a link to what I called the best article about Brit ever, then ripped into me because YOU overlooked the link and thought my one paragraph was supposed to be the “Best Article”? Reading comprehension 101, anyone?

Well, first of all, I use “k” because I’m not stupid enough to put my actual name on the Internet. You expect me to believe your real name is “zoom”, or any of the other names you’ve used? Therefore, don’t pick at me for doing what you do. All the crazies out there, no way I’m putting my real name on anything. Common sense. Internet 101 teaches you that.

Quite frankly, I couldn’t care less what kind of writer you think I am. Think what you want. I stand behind what I write, and I stand behind this. I said that she did not directly cause the accident, in that she didn’t hit the person herself. But she courts the paps attention when she wants it and then expects it to go away when she doesn’t. Now, I didn’t make that up, I didn’t deduce that on my own, many other news outlets have said that, including mainstream ones, not just lowly bloggers like myself. I just happen to agree.

And yeah…my personal train of thought brought me to think that perhaps some innocent bystander could be hurt by the swarm of paps that follow her like wasps. Yes, some other time it very well could be her kids or Britney herself that gets hurt. I hope it DOESN’T happen, but with the circus that constantly follows her it very well could. I’m frankly surprised that something serious hasn’t happened before this.

I said that it was RUMORED that a certain agency is paid to positively spin stories. RUMORED. I specifically said RUMORED. I didn’t say it was so. But you telling me how I am trying to help pin blame on Brit is hilarious. If you think I’m censoring this place to make me look good, you’re the one with the problem, not me. I’m in cahoots with nobody. I research everything I put on here very carefully. That’s why there aren’t more posts from me than there are…because instead of spending my time churning out a hundred items a day, I spend my time researching and backing up what I report before offering my opinion. If it is a rumor or an alleged incident, I SAY that it is. And apparently you’ve missed all the times I have written that she needs help, and that someone in her life should step up and get her the help she so desperately needs, and the open letters I’ve typed begging her to get help.

I reported the information available to me last night when the story broke (it was NOT originally reported on TMZ, although they did pick it up, just as I picked it up). The info last night SAID that the person sustained multiple broken bones. Now, the info today says that the original info was wrong. So I’m to blame for that how? I reported the corrected info as an update, because I was relieved it was not as bad as it first seemed. That’s a horrible thing, why? Even mainstream news sometimes get bad tips and wrong information.

And finally…when I pointed out the sarcasm to the other commenter, I said the OTHER comments were using sarcasm. Dawn made a sarcastic comment that Jodi obviously took seriously; I pointed out that it was meant as sarcasm. I didn’t use sarcasm in my original article…I was entirely serious.

You see, this is a celebrity gossip blog. You know that when you open the site. If you want hard-hitting news, I hear CNN has a website. Fox News is up and running. And I’m sure Blogcritics would love to hear your insights on such serious matters.

In short, if you don’t like what I write, feel free to not read it. Nobody twists your arm to come here; we don’t send out bots to take over your computer and make it come to this site. You come here of your own free will. Don’t like it here? Fabulous! Free country! Go somewhere else and read! But don’t gripe at me for doing what I’m supposed to be doing, on a site that you don’t have to come to if you don’t want to.

    Have a nice day.

  11. Is Zoom the guy from breathe heavy;) Anywho. It seems like someone is wading in that river called denial. Britney does bring all of this on herself. She will never be a Princess Di like victim. She deliberately cruises the streets seeking attention. She knows the press is stalking her yet she continues to build the insane frenzy. To be honest if she were to lose that attention she would quickly become irrelevant and even she knows that.

Zoom – she is mentally ill and needs an intervention. Her parents should take her back to Louisiana and lock her in a mental ward until she sees just how close she is to losing everything.

This site is not only a gossip site – it provides an opinion – something we are all entitled to have and I am sorry to say opinions don’t have to be backed by fact. If they did – none of these sites would exist.

    Blah.

  13. You’ve got to be kidding me. Again I have to explain?

    -sigh-

First. You definitely are the person who told me what a sh*t writer I was for posting a link to the “Best Britney Article”. You ripped into me, thinking I said my paragraph was the best article. But the LINK to the article was right there in the post, you OVERLOOKED it. Just like you OVERLOOKED the link I provided to Brit’s red light run, and then jumped me for that. Is it my fault you can’t see links? You seem to think it is, because when I provide one you don’t see it. You said there was no link provided, but there was, and you just didn’t see it. You were surprised to find out her running the light was a real video? How so, when I provided a link to the video RIGHT in the post?

And sorry…what you call “spinning reality” is really me offering my opinions. I make very clear in what I write what is fact, hearsay, and opinion. Do I have to put in big blinking letters “MY OPINION”? That is what I have been asked to do here…offer MY OPINION on the celeb events that go on. I take the factual thing that happened, look at it, analyze it, and then offer my OPINION. If you don’t like my opinion, I can handle that, but calling me a sh*t writer and telling me how I spin facts and whatever just doesn’t cut it, especially when you can’t get your facts straight.

Okay, “If you don’t like it don’t read it” is a bit of an exaggeration, if taken literally. But since you seem to come here only to rip articles apart, it makes me wonder just why you come here to start with. But I’m not unlike a troll? Hilarious. Yes, I like to see reactions to what I write. I even like negative ones, because I can learn from everything written to me. I don’t mind a bit if people disagree with me.

And when I said, “Therefore, don’t pick at me for doing what you do,” I meant don’t pick at me for using a pseudonym when you use one yourself. That was clearly stated in the context of the paragraph in which it appeared. Again, is it my fault you misread or chose to read something that wasn’t there?

You seem to have a problem with comprehension…taking one sentence of mine written in one context, and moving it and applying it to another context. Prime example is my paragraph above talking about “Don’t pick at me for doing what you do.” I was talking about using pseudonyms, and you turned it into I was talking about Britney. I didn’t twist that around, you did.

I don’t have a problem with someone questioning my articles, but don’t deliberately twist what I said into something I didn’t say. Don’t chew me out for links that are there, that you can’t see. Don’t take one part of what I said and apply it to something entirely different. I don’t mind comments or reactions…I welcome them. Doesn’t bother me a bit. But to be chewed on for something I didn’t do? Please.

And I don’t have to assassinate Britney’s character. She is doing a great job of that on her own.

  21. Well I am def not k! Rest assured. BUT I find it really interesting that you are so worried about this particular article.

There is so many garbage sites on the net that twist the facts times 1000. Why target this site for having an opinion.

I concur with K = and MY opinion is that BS fully brings on the havoc that surrounds her. Case in point she took off to ATL to avoid the press for a weekend and there was a virtual paparazzi news blackout on her. Not a picture, tape or image of fast food/gas stations and/or Starbucks….you want to know why? BC she was not cruising past, Hyde, the Ivy, Robertson Blvd or any of the other media hot spots.

She is INFAMOUS – she is too messed up to realize that not only is she putting herself at risk but her friends, family, CHILDREN and innocent bystanders. I am not justifying the idiocy of the papz but PLEASE! She really needs to take some responsibility! The insanity that is her word is only going to end is disaster and yes my, Zoom, that will be self created. You don’t see this SH*& happening to Clint Eastwood do ya?

  25. No I agree RUMORS and total fabrications are wrong – that’s why we have libel and slander laws and the celebs that have their lives in order pursue people in the courts through these laws. The problem with BS is that she is a mess and unable to defend herself.

In a nutshell this was an opinion piece and I do agree with K – BS brings much of this on herself. You know I really like BS and have tons of empathy for her. I think she is one of life’s victims. But at the end of the day she has to take some responsibility or she si done for:(

  27. Hey Zoom, you don’t have to agree with k’s opinion or assertions, but her writing skills are above reproach, unlike your spamming skills, which are both pathetic and unimpressive.

Seriously, maybe you aren’t aware, but technology exists which keeps us bloggers informed when people are trolling and spamming under different alias. So unless you suffer from a multiple personality disorder and are off the meds, you really should stop living under the delusion we aren’t aware of your tactics.

If however, you wish to engage in enlightened conversations with the actual WRITER of the article, that’s another matter. There aren’t many celeb sites where you can still do that, but we at Glosslip like to talk to the readers and enjoy it. But not if you are just going to insult people.

That’s just unproductive. Ya know what I mean?
