Pete Doherty: Amy Winehouse Is Clean Since Her Husband Was Put In Jail
Absolutely. We can totally believe Pete, because he’s such a paragon of virtue and wholesome living. He always tells the truth and is a completely trustworthy individual:
However many and varied her demons, it emerged last night that Winehouse, 24, has at least one invaluable ally in her battle against substance abuse: Pete Doherty, a man who has been there and back again, several times.
Doherty, 28, said he and Winehouse were helping each other fight drugs.
He also said that she has been clean since her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, was arrested and remanded in custody on charges of GBH and perverting the course of justice.
Doherty said: “I speak to Amy almost every day. She just wants her man back for Christmas. They are desperately in love.
“One good thing is that Blake has got clean since he has been in prison. It’s been quite an awakening. Amy stopped doing everything since he went in. She realises how much they have to lose. They are going to lose each other if it carries on. Love, music and melody is the way forward.”
How touching. I can practically see the rainbows and lollipops dancing around his head as he says that. Oh, and then a little dancing leprechaun comes out and hands out cereal.
Here we see clean and sober Amy at her sell-out concert at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. I’m sure that’s just a zit in her nose. Darn things always pop up at the most inopportune times!

Perhaps for Doperty and Wino “clean” is a relative term?

Are you sure this isn’t a doctored photo from PerezHilton’s site? It’s almost unimaginable that Amy would have any illicit drugs on her person. I mean, really, it’s unthinkable!

D, you are pretty naive. Although, coke in the nose isn’t hard to doctor, I’ve seen Amy’s performances. She doesn’t give an eff how high she is in the limelight. Sorry, the girl’s a mess.

I was being sarcastic, but apparently I didn’t do a very good job. Or did I?

No, I think D has her finger pretty well up the nose of the situation.

Crazymom, I think you might be onto something there. After all, it was very shortly after Pete’s release from his recent rehab program that we saw pics of him drinking, and quotes of him saying he thought it was okay to just have a pint now and then or something to that effect. I knew then it wasn’t going to last long!
Some of you may recall from my previous comments that I went through a program myself and was clean and sober for many years. People are different, but for me, I was able to graduate to being an occasional light drinker only after making deep, long-lasting changes in my life and myself. This is something most people cannot pull off, and I only did it after 7 years clean and sober and some very significant personal changes. So to think that a rock star, whose lifestyles are notoriously characterized by excess and self-indulgence, would be able to successfully do something like that after only a week or two, is beyond belief.
