Britney Spears Has Finally Gone Off Deep-End, Under Medical Evaluation, Kids Likely To Be Taken Away

Britney’s finally lost it, here’s the breakdown of events:
Britney showed up two hours late to her deposition with ex-husband K-Fed’s attorneys for her ongoing custody battle. This was her first showing after FIVE attempts and her blowing each one off, including one earlier in the week.
At around 8:00pm last night, K-Fed’s bodyguards showed up to pick up Sean Preston and Jayden James after a court-scheduled visit with their mother, and Britney refused to release the kids. Police were called, with is a typical in any kind of custody dispute. Or as Brit’s lawyer states:
Soon-to-be ex-attorney Sorrell Trope told the mag, “In a normal case when someone shows up with a certified court order saying the kids need to be somewhere else, the police see to it that the order is obeyed. But that is in a normal case.”
Us Magazine’s timeline of events from that point on:
10:50 p.m.: The fire department arrives on the scene. LAPD Officer Jason Lee tells Us, “The officers are still there. They are trying to resolve this peacefully and legally, according to the court order. They’ve been there since 8 p.m. and it is in regards to Britney Spears’ custody battle.”
11:05 p.m.: Paramedics take a gurney and a backboard into Spears’ home.
11:25 p.m.: An ambulance pulls into Spears’ driveway, parking behind her car.
11:50 p.m.: An ambulance carrying Spears and other emergency vehicles leave the scene; it’s reported that Sean Preston and Jayden James are in Federline’s custody.
12:40 a.m.: Spears arrives via ambulance at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Police had erected screens to shield her from waiting photographers; Federline and Spears pal Sam Lutfi soon arrive separately. Around time of mom’s arrival, son Jayden carried into the emergency room by police officer while sucking on a pacifier.
1:10 a.m.: Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, arrives at Cedars Sinai.
3:45 a.m.: Cedars source confirms that Spears remains under observation as a “special needs” patient.
Well, the “special needs” comment seems appropriate on so many levels. This whole thing is horrifically sad, but not surprising. For months, k and I have been stating Britney was suffering from some sort of chemical imbalance. Even yesterday as I was contemplating all of this (before I saw the latest) I was sure Britney was bi-polar. All of her erratic and increasingly dangerous behavior was clear-cut evidence of this.
There is a bright side to all of this. For months, all anyone who really cared about Britney (except her crazy die-hard and mentally disturbed fans) wanted was for her to seek help and get well. It doesn’t take a PHd in psychiatry to determine she was in need of serious and constant care.
Maybe now, with a full-on melt-down she can finally be committed against her will and get the treatment she so, so, SO, desperately needs.
Stay posted, we will keep you informed of the latest developments. G*d speed Britney. Get better.
Update: According to many sources, when police arrived they deemed Britney to be “under the influence” of some sort of substance. As of yet, the substance has not been determined

Yup, she’s a crazy person, that’s for sure. But, I also think she’s always been used to getting her own way, and I think she figured she was going to get her own way last night. In my opinion, when she was finally FORCED to sit for a deposition yesterday, albeit a very short one, it p*ssed her off. She obviously has no regard for the law or for her lawyers or for Fed’s lawyers, and I think she just figured all of them be damned, and she was gonna do it her way. And she decided, screw the court orders and the monitor, and she proceeded to barricade herself in her house with one of her kids. She probably thought the police would eventually yell “uncle”, and she’d once again get her way. (Or, she probably didn’t think the police would even be called.) But, things got completely out of hand, and she was carted off to the hospital, strapped to a gurney.
She obviously has mental issues which I hope she FINALLY gets help for, but personally, I think she KNEW what she was doing last night, completely, and was acting like a spoiled brat to try and get her own way. Guess she found out otherwise. And now, she knows that the whole world knows about what happened, and she’s freaking out, and is probably carrying on about how she’ll off herself because of embarrassment. But, I’m sure she’s also telling anyone who will listen how she’s Britney f-in Spears, and how she can BUY that whole hospital if she wants, so they better show her some respect.
And as for the BS that’s she’s on hourly meds, that’s just her “camp” trying to spin the whole episode to make it look just a bit better. It ain’t workin’.

Oh my God. For once I agree with you. Maybe you’re not as bad as I thought. I’m glad she will (hopefully) now be forced to get the help she so desperately needs.

Ann, how can you say she knew what she was doing last night?
From the footage you could see she wasn’t compos mentis. She was strapped to a stretcher but when they started rolling her into an ambulance she was visibly shocked and scared. She’s nuts, she didn’t know what she was doing. Poor girl. And those poor children, hopefully now she will get treatment and will be well enough for them to have at least a chance of some sort of decent relationship with her.

Although D, I do have to ask, if you were of the opinion she was mentally ill why have you continued to be part of the circus persecuting someone who is clearly desperately ill?

Because up until now, SHE has refused to get help. I can have totally sympathy and empathy for those who are fighting their demons, even if its against their will.
But to willfully go around being irresponsible and dangerous is NOT something I can condone and in fact feel compelled to ridicule.
Is that fair? Maybe not, but life isn’t fair.

Sally – Personally, I think when she locked herself in her bathroom with Jayden, she figured she’d get her own way. She just figured she could get away pulling a fast one! But, she sure figured wrong! And once the police showed up, she started talking crazy, because she didn’t have any other “defense.” And I can imagine that when the cops finally got through the door, and medical technicians finally strapped her to the gurney, she was in total disbelief about what was happening, and was going back and forth between laughing and being hysterical. I can almost imagine her trying to tell the medical people that they needed to just leave her alone, and everything would be okay.
I think she has some mental issues, but I don’t think she’s as crazy as everyone says. I think she’s lived a complete life of entitlement, and she’s used to having her own way about everything. She’s wealthy, she’s used to media attention, so she thinks that gives her ultimate power! She’s never grown up to learn that she, along with everyone else, is required to follow the laws, and she has to deal with the hand she’s dealt!
Furthermore, she’s pushed EVERYONE of any substance in her life away. She basically has no family to surround her, and has made the choice to surround herself with enablers who obviously do her bidding, and spend a whole lot of time telling her how wonderful she is! I think the combination of all those things has screwed her up in the head. Now…will this be the turning point for her? I sure hope so, but I don’t think so.

Ann, I believe you are wrong about Brit’s mental state. She may be spoiled and a brat, but she’s also mentally ill. The two can be mutually exclusive, you know.

Agreed its a sucky time for her. Check this out I looked up the hostage takers house where it all went down…she better be careful or she’ll be in a 4 x 4 cell instead of a 5,000 sq ft house.

And now, there’s reports that she won’t be charged by the police with anything. And there, folks, is the very reason she pulls the stunts she does. She’s not completely held responsible for her actions, not by the courts, not by police, not by anyone. The courts may be holding her feet to the fire regarding custody of her children…kind of…but, this is the reason she thinks she can get away with everything she does! I can hear her now, “I’m Britney Spears! I’m famous, and I can do what I damn well please! NOBODY can stop me!” Plain and simple, once she’s out of that hospital, she should at least be charged with child endangerment. She held one of her own children HOSTAGE last night!

I think both Ann and k are right. But, as k said, they are not mutually exclusive.
Spoiled brat and mentally unstable. Not a nice combo.

Erm, D, ‘Because up until now, SHE has refused to get help’? How often do people with serious mental illnesses realise they have them? It’s not a fucking wart.
