Britney Spears NOT On Drugs, Just Mental!
Splash News is reporting Britney Spears tested clean for drugs and alcohol. I am not that surprised, her behavior is typical of someone in the stages of a manic high, not drugs.
Sources are reporting Britney was laughing and erratic the entire time she was being transported to the hospital after a custody dispute standoff. She had to be strapped down and is at Cedars-Sinai under “evaluation” and is expected to remain for 72 hours. I’d say that’s a generous estimate. If the powers that be have any sense of personal responsibility for this young woman, they will have her committed, evaluated, diagnosed and under 24-hour care for months to come. Britney needs help more than any mentally disturbed person I have ever witnessed.
Others are claiming Britney hasn’t eaten or slept in several days which is further proof she is riding a manic wave. Normal people can’t sustain themselves without sleep unless they are taking some kind of substance to keep them awake. Since Britney has allegedly tested clean for drugs, this would imply her own internal chemical balance is WAY off.
If they release her after 72 hours, they have just signed her death sentence. If may not happen this week, or this month, but this girl is going to hurt herself without proper FORCED treatment.

it’s about time!! brit needing a psycholigical evaluation has been a long time coming. i agree, 72 hours is not nearly long enough. i hope that this will be the proper direction to receive the help she is in obvious need of.

What are you talking about?
“Britney needs help more than any mentally disturbed person I have ever witnessed.”
Do you have some sort of medical qualification to back this up? Or are you just wildly speculating again.
I quote you “Britney hasn’t eaten or slept in several days which is further proof she is riding a manic wave”.
It’s proof of nothing, it could be because she was taking amphetamines.
You’re enjoying this aren’t you? At least Perez has some sympathy. TMZ get their journalistic facts right to and don’t have to resort to cutting and pasting other websites and have decent contacts.
If you’re going to comment on this story at least try and make a decent journalistic fist of it.

Sally, you are more crazy than Britney. She is not on drugs, you prejudiced bitch.
This is a brain disorder.

M, I think that you have got the wrong end of the stick. Read my posts.
Comment by Sally — January 4, 2008 @ 3:32 pm
dear sally… could you please take your head out of your ass? you don’t need “medical qualification” to see clearly that your beloved brit is sick. are you implying that it’s alright that she hasn’t slept in days just because she is taking amphetamines? why don’t you give the fire dept. your address so you can join brit for an evaluation as well. in case this site is your only source for brit news, this site is telling the same general information that everyone else is.

Sally,
WTF are you talking about? If she was taking amphetamines it would have showed up on her drug test.
Perez has sympathy? Well good for him. I have realism. What do you have, ‘cept your head up your ass?
Comment by D — January 4, 2008 @ 5:34 pm
‘My head up my ass’. Wow, what cutting incisive journalism.
I didn’t say she was taking amphetamines – I just said that you couldn’t diagnose what was wrong with her as you didn’t have all the facts.
Realism implies reporting reality. Are you sure that is what you are doing?
I’m not a Britney fan but I like to think I’m a decent human being. When I look at Britney I feel sad and hope she sorts herself out. What do you think when you see her?
I am not an apologist for her and I know she has done a shit load of stuff wrong, but it still makes me cross to see people queuing up to kick here while she’s down.

Sorry. Cut and pasted wrong.

i think realism is being used to report this story. in case anyone has been living in a cave for the past year, brit has been on a fast descent emotionally. i do feel bad for all she must be going through, and i truly hope she gets the help she so badly needs. that being said, evaluation in regards to her mental stability is long overdue. her mental state and actions have been such a source for scrutiny ,because everyone else except for brit and her handlers has maintained that she needs help. this story should come as no surprise. no one wants to see her life end ,and i believe a lot of people who have reported on her life have been waiting for her to get treatment. her actions make it very clear… no one without some drug or mental issues would act as irresponsibly or as erratic as brit. i wish her well for the sake of her children.

Sally,
What makes you think you are anymore decent a person than I am?
Just because I don’t make excuses for poor behavior or show a well of sympathy for people who neglect their children and abuse their lives.
Like I said before, I have far more sympathy and concern now that Britney is in the care she so clearly needs, than when she was driving around creating a dangerous situation for herself, her children and innocent people.
It’s a pretty simple and normal thought process.

I thnik I a better person than you because of point c;-
a) I am horrified that people on the road might be injured by her and think she should be stopped of putting other people at risk by any means possible.
b) I think that her sons are the most important people in this case and deserve to be protected – even if that means keeping them away from their mother.
c)When I see Britney my heart breaks, I just want her to get better. When you see Britney you just want to stick the boot in.
Comment by Sally — January 5, 2008 @ 2:10 pm
Thnik. I hold my hands up as a numpty.
Comment by Sally — January 5, 2008 @ 3:07 pm
Get over yourself Sally, seriously, you aren’t all that decent a person – and are really quite the hypocrite.
You have sat there and insulted me and anyone else who’s come along and disagreed with you and you don’t KNOW me any more than I know Britney.
Either accept other people have opinions different than your own, or move on. And if you continue to insult me and denigrate my opinions and feelings above your own, then why on earth would I give a fat fig about your opinions anyway?
Comment by D — January 5, 2008 @ 3:58 pm
I don’t expect you to care a flying fig about my opinions. Why would you?
How can you call me a hypocrite and then in the next breath have a go at me for insulting you, denigrating you and hurting your feelings when you do this about Britney in way way way worse ways?
Comment by Sally — January 5, 2008 @ 4:55 pm
Oh, and by the way – I think you are totally right about leaving alone people who have different opinions to you – just look at the Khmer Rouge, Hitler, Stalin and the tribes in Rwanda. They would have been SO much better off if people had just respected their opinions and left them alone.
Just because you think that it doesn’t make it right. I don’t ‘like’ a lot of celebrities but I slate them to my friends and leave it as that. They get on my nerves, but I don’t feel the need to go online and stick a knife in them.
Comment by Sally — January 5, 2008 @ 5:02 pm
sally….you yourself has said that she should “be stopped of putting other people at risk by any means possible” and “her sons deserve to be protected – even if it means keeping them away from their mother”. does that mean you are sticking the knife in her as well? it’s because of people like you who prefer to fluff off how severe her problems are that she is such a hot mess. this is an obvious situation of someone who needs help.coddling her and leaving her to her own devices has proved unsuccesful. as we all know, some people have the foresight to know they have a problem. brit, on the other hand, needs to be dragged in for help. none of this is as you refer to “kicking her while she’s down”.
Comment by D-Bomb — January 5, 2008 @ 10:07 pm
The problem with society today is that nobody wants to take responsibility for their actions, and any attempt to incorporate common sense into a situation is determined to be unwanted, unwarranted, and generally mean.
Sally, you can reason it away any way you like, but the bottom line is that Britney is mentally ill and she needs to be locked up in a decent facility where she can receive the help she so desperately needs. Otherwise, those children will be visiting their mother’s grave before the year is out.
Am I a big meanie-head for pointing out the obvious? Well, okay, guess I am. But somebody has to say it. We here at GlossLip are simply stating the truth. Not our fault if some people just can’t handle it.
Comment by k — January 5, 2008 @ 10:44 pm
k – yes you are stating the truth to a certain extent. It is probably right that she is metntally ill and needs treatment and if that’s true she should be forced to have treatment.
You are saying that she should be forced to have treatment as she not capable of asking for help. But then two seconds later you condemn her for not asking for help.
I don’t understand you, but I wish you well. THAT is the difference beween you and me.
Comment by Sally — January 6, 2008 @ 11:17 am
Sally, you’d get a lot further in this discussion if you’d stop making comparisons between you and everyone you disagree with, with all the comparisons ending with you being better than the other person.
It’s a pretty immature thing to do.
Look, despite what you perceive, neither d-bomb, k or myself want anything bad to happen to Britney, in fact, we all want her to get better and get herself back on track. But any decent celebrity gossip blogger (or decent human for that matter)isn’t going to mollycoddle Britney.
She and/or her family need to wake up and smell the Starbucks. She needs some long term care. Our saying so isn’t the problem, her not getting it is.
Comment by D — January 6, 2008 @ 11:27 am
I don’t think I’m any better than you – I just don’t think you’ve come even close to making a logical argument to support your opinions.
I totally agree with you that this is the best chance Britney has to ‘wake up and smell the Starbucks’. I think if she doesn’t wake up and realize she needs help after this she will probably be beyond help.
But you can’t now sit here and say that you are rooting for Britney when anybody who has been on this site before last Thursday knows the abuse you have heaped on her – I quote ‘It’s not like we’re dealing with a sane person, or even a person’.
How can you dehumanize, denigrate and demonise a PERSON like that? And she is a person no matter what you think.
I am not a Britney fan, I’m just a fan of trying to preserve peoples dignity and respect even if they are sick or in trying circumstances.
Comment by Sally — January 6, 2008 @ 12:24 pm
Sally…I have not dehumanized her for not asking for help. Show me where I said that.
I have dealt with people who are bipolar. You do have moments early on when you know something is horribly wrong and it is then that you can get yourself help. Unfortunately, I believe that time in Brit’s life was long ago…she’s well past that point now. I believe she passed it around the time she left Kevin after Jayden was born.
She is now mentally incapable of making any decisions regarding herself or her care at this point in her life. SOMEBODY needs to step up and have some balls and have her committed against her will. Otherwise, mark my words, she will not make it to the end of the year…and she just may take one or both kids with her.
Comment by k — January 6, 2008 @ 1:53 pm
sally, i have to disagree with you not being a brit fan. you seem to be quite the contrary. furthermore, i’d love to see some photos with you and her skipping hand in hand to a mental facility. that is ,after you both wake up and smell the starbucks.
Comment by D-Bomb — January 6, 2008 @ 8:56 pm
D-Bomb I am NOT a Britney fan. I am just a member of a family with 2 little girls under ten. I would fight and kill to keep them safe and it breaks my heart to see Britney like this because I can’t understand why her family have let her get into this state.
I feel so protective of her when I see her. That could be your daughter or your niece or your sister in law.
