yokoono.jpg

The legendary Yoko Ono is being interviewed by Blogcritics.org’s very own Eric Olsen, a personal friend of mine :)

BlogTalkRadio has launched a new daily show hosted by Shaun Daily, and Glosslip has a regular entertainment feature with K and I giving the top entertainment news as regular feature on Shaun’s show. You can check in daily around 7:00pm EST, or 4:00pm PT to hear k or I, or listen to the whole show which begins at 6pm ET/3pm PT.

Today is a special segment (we were kind enough to let Eric take over to interview Yoko) and if you can’t listen in now, please check out the archived segment later. Click here to listen now.

  1. OMG!! Regardless of what other people say about her, she is one classy woman. I think Beatles historians and fans have given her a bad rap, but she’s always held her head high. I admire her for that.

  5. I was lucky enough to be able to hear most of it, since I saw the post early! Excellent interview, and I like how she spoke about the “dragon lady” issue.

I think Yoko’s own artistic creativity had a great influence on John. With Yoko, he grew up, stood up for himself, spoke out for what he believed in and stepped out of McCartney’s shadow and overbearing personality (as you know, I’m not a big Macca fan).

Lennon really came into his own, creatively and personally, AFTER the Beatles broke up, and I think that was largely due to her influence. I don’t think that would have happened if the Beatles had remained together.

On a related note, I just finished the new Patti Boyd book “Wonderful Tonight” — check it out if you haven’t read it yet. Incredible insight into George Harrison and Eric Clapton. Another good book, “The Love You Make” by Peter Brown — the definitive Beatles biography, IMO.
