Britney Spears Still A No-Show At Custody Hearing, Clearly Mental
If I were writing this story three weeks ago about Britney not showing up at the custody hearing for her two sons it would have been full of vile canards and cruel epithets ranging from “selfish, spoiled brat” to “dumb hick trailer trash”, all of which still apply, but are probably not the root cause of her apparent lack of interest in obtaining custody of her kids.
It’s pretty apparent to anyone with a television, radio, internet or the ability to read, Britney is suffering from an acute mental condition, which has been speculated to be bi-polar disorder, manic depression or some form of multiple personality disorder.
Today will likely end the speculation as to whether Britney will see her kids anytime before her April custody trial with husband Kevin Federline to determine permanent living and custody arrangements for their two sons Sean Preston (2) and Jayden James (1).
It would be a latent Christmas miracle if the judge allowed any visitation rights for Britney at this stage of the game, and especially in light of her recent behavior. So I will go on record and say today’s proceedings will end up giving long-term custody to Kevin Federline, sadly, the only stable parent in SPF and JJ’s lives.
There’s really no reason to belabor all the varying degrees in which Britney has demonstrated her deteriorating mental faculties, but just to summarize, she’s held her children hostage, refused treatment for an obvious mental problem, shacking up with a member of the paparazzi who has knowingly tried to sell lurid pictures of her tabloids, cut anyone and everyone who ever cared about her out of her life and has made no effort to persuade the courts she deserves to have any contact with her kids.
Boys and girls, Britney’s nuts. Crazy. Disturbed. Whacked. Out of her mind. Is it really fair or reasonable to carry on reporting about her as though she were a “normal” celeb? I don’t think so. I feel sad for this girl. I feel heartsick and depressed about her children. I am worried she will not live to see her next birthday without the intervention of serious medical care.
What should we do? Is there anything we can do? If the media leaves her alone, will her purpose for living cease? Seriously, what is making her go on at this point if it’s not for the sake of her children?
I have known very disturbed people, people I was close to. When you are young and don’t understand the nuances of mental illness it can be very confusing, her children should not be exposed to their mother. There really is no positive ending to all of this which I can see. The last hope I’d held for Britney was some maternal desire deep within her which would force her to seek help, but, this desire clearly doesn’t exist or is so obscured by her illness she can’t tap into it.
Tragic. We don’t know how or when, but the end will be tragic.
UPDATE: Several outlets are stating Britney is either in route or will be soon to testify in the custody hearing currently in session. Well, at least there’s some sign of life. Although as we predicted yesterday on Glosslip radio, it will likely have zero affect for today’s outcome.

Is it too much to hope that her parents finally call an incompentancy hearing??? I mean the last tapes of her speaking and screaming in a British accent speak volumes.
Good article. Your site really is one of the few places that cover it for what it is. Hope her children manage to find some stability and peace even if she cannot.

Yay, ebayer!
I have to agree. There are mountains of evidence showing that she clearly has a problem. I’d think that would at least get things started in the right direction.

Thanks Ebayer, that’s a real compliment.
I just wish there was some way to satisfy the public’s need to know what happens to Britney, without pushing her further over the edge. I am not sure if she would even want to go on living if she were being ignored by the media. It seems to be a driving force in her life.
Can’t we just get this young woman some help? It’s becoming a cruel sport at this point.

her lawyers are not wise . If she is under distress (or has a mental condition) having her cross examined might be a very costly mistake for britney’s case. Although at least she is showing she cares about the kids somewhat by showing up. I was hetting worried for a second.

That would be great…if she hadn’t left without even going inside.

I may be afraid to read the news tomorrow morning. After today, I think that her pals Sam and Adnan may be the only two people keeping her from offing herself. But, she has a decision to make. It’s the decision to clean up her act, accept that she has issues, accept responsibility for her actions, and seek out whatever help she needs. If not for herself, for her children. If she can do that, AND follow the orders of the court, I think she’d begin to find some favor from the Commissioner. I understand how the courts typically favor the mother in custody cases. So, for her to have no contact with her children is HUGE. She just doesn’t seem to be getting it that her children NEED their mom, whole and healthy. But, the choice is hers to make. No one can make her get help if she doesn’t want it. If she keeps deluding herself that it’s all about doing it her way, I fear that we will soon be reading the stories of her demise. I hope that’s not the case. It used to be fun to read about her bizarre antics, but now I cringe when I read about her. It’s such a shame. She has so much to live for, and she truly is choosing a terrible outcome for herself.
