At least, it would show the judge that she's trying to change her life. All this is showing the judge is that she's continuing the pattern she's already established...that she thinks she can get what she wants simply because she wants it bad enough. Another hallmark of a mental illness...she can't face reality and deal with that reality, she just wants things to be how she wants them because she wants them that way. I doubt if she would have gotten back any sort of custody today even if she had shown up (and she still might), but this appearance (or non-appearance) will be taken into account by the judge and will definitely factor into any future decision. It's like building a foundation...they want to help her build a solid foundation and are trying to give her the bricks, and all she is doing is tearing the foundation down and throwing the bricks at the very people trying to help her. She can't be held to the same standards as regular people. Showing up today wouldn't have changed ANYTHING. She won't get her kids back today, tomorrow or next week. She won't get them back until she gets serious psychiatric help and demonstrates herself to be a cooperative and stable human being capable of making reasonable decisions. Something she won't do until she loses it all, and then it may be too late. We’ve all had it with her, but let’s not forget, this girl is sick in the head.
