Deep Thoughts By Mary-Kate Olsen

mk_social.jpg

Mary-Kate Olsen, whose name has been repeatedly linked to the tragic death of Heath Ledger because of some phone calls which were made to her number upon Heath’s body being discovered by his massage therapist and housekeeper, has issued a statement on Ledger’s death:

“Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time.”

I don’t know why, meaning it’s an instinctual feeling rather than one based on facts, but this statement falls short on what I’d expect from someone who was clearly closely involved with Heath’s life. So involved that her number was called four times within the first 15 minutes of discovering Heath had passed away. I am not impugning anyone’s reputation, least of all Heath’s, but Mary-Kate really should have said NOTHING, than the above cold, calculated response.

Spare me. Your thoughts are NOT with his family. Your thoughts are with your ever-increasing suspicious name being associated with the death of a clearly beloved figure.

Sometimes it’s better to say nothing. I don’t care what you think Mary Kate, I just want to know why you didn’t tell that masseuse person to call 911 immediately.

I will stop myself from saying more, but suffice it to say, words like selfish, little, troll come to mind. Ok, that’s enough of that.

  1. Heath’s housekeeper has a brain. She didn’t have to listen to Mary-Kate, and should have known to call 911 in the first place. Either way, police said that Heath probably died before any of the calls were made, so whether or not 911 was called didn’t really matter.

  3. I don’t know, anymore than anyone else, why 911 wasn’t called 1ST. I DO know that ambien/ambien cr are extremely dangerous drugs. No matter how they are advertised. I was lucky enough to realize I need medical help when I took my PRESCRIBED dose exactly as it was prescribed and started having trouble breathing but I was so relaxed from the drug that being a healthcare professional myself is the only reason I called for help. My heart goes out to his family & friends and I HOPE no else has to have this happen to them.

  5. Now they are saying the masseuse is not licensed, because any licensed masseuse in New York has to know CPR. In fact, the cops may arrest her.

Regardless, the very first thing that should have happened is a 911 call. It was undoubtedly too late, but precious time was wasted talking to this troll and waiting for information to be passed.

  7. You know, a lot of times when someone passes, the “could have’s” and “should have’s” are just normal reactions when people are trying to come to terms with a loss.

However, in THIS case, it really does make one wonder what could have been if someone would have called 911 instead of MKO. I mean, WTF?

I know Hollywood is all about image and perception. Maybe someone who lives in that world would have thought that things like this are best handled privately rather than getting the authorities involved (perhaps especially so if one is not a licensed medical practitioner of ANY kind). Maybe in that world there are people other than the authorities who “handle” those kinds of situations? Who knows?

Sadly that’s the thing — no one will NEVER know for sure if Heath could have been revived if paramedics would have been called immediately. That’s not a legacy I’d want to have associated with MY name forever.

(an aside: I’m guessing that now “Call Mary-Kate” is going to be a kind of punchline for any situation gone bad.)

  9. I think this is an example of someone who’s not incredibly bright being allowed to speak for herself in the media. I don’t think it’s that MKO was necessarily calculating; I’m not sure she has the brains for it. This reminds me of McCartney saying something to the effect of “bummer” when Lennon was murdered. Dumb. You can’t fix stupid, right?

  11. OK, call MKO. Is she supposed to know the seriousness
of the situation from another state? And what the Hey are her bodyguards going to do once THEY get there?
Review the situation and call doctor MKO back? A minute or two of mouth to mouth can revive a person, and that time was wasted.

  13. Mary-Kate was in Heath’s apartment when he died. She and/or the women cleaned up the stuff, but the rolled up bill was inadvertently left behind. Cover up.

  15. From what I read somewhere, the masseuse called MKO because her bodyguard is a paramedic/EMT and would know what to do.

But uhm…wouldn’t ANY paramedic know what to do?

Let’s see…call MKO four times, wait for her to call bodyguard and call masseuse back. Or, just call 911 one time. You can’t fix stupid!

  17. I thought MKO was on the West Coast when they called and said she would send over her pesonal security team.

What I suspect is they may have had to “clean” the apartment before calling for help. He was reported to have a history of heroin abuse. I wonder, though, why he had a rolled up bill, yet it was clean.

Lot of unanswered questions, but I bet some drugs were flushed.

  19. MKO was on the west coast when the masseuse called her. There is video evidence of this, because video was being shot of MKO as she was receiving the calls.

Therefore, “The Truth” is full of hokum.

  21. This is truly truly a terrible tragedy, and I think it opens all of our eyes to the extent in which “true” friendships exist in Hollywood. It also sheds light on how out of control the whole scene is, i mean who is to say that MK wasnt stoned herself trying in her own stunned state to figure out what to do? It seems everybody in showbiz is jacked up on some sort opiate, and if you dont believe me, check out her pupils and body size the next time you see her in interview- it doesnt take a doctor to call that one. I am not trying to bash her by any means, she is one of several livin the showbiz dream of sex, drugs and rock n roll… but she should have called 911, and will now be left with the guilt of “what if” for her entire life. Although something tells me, from her cold response and recent partying that she wont lose too much sleep over it, and that just plain saddens me. It just devestating that a wholesome, actually genuine person, fell victim to the sad, phony relationships show biz has to offer. It really says a lot about her character when she is out partying and carousing just days later. we all deal different, but its often said “ones true colours show in the time of crisis” and i think we definately can see some distinctive shades of darkness.

  23. so i have a theory…and it goes a little something like this….why werent the ambulances called by MK…simple…she needed to make sure the apartment was clear of any paraphenalia to avoid a scandal herself. Heaths body was warm when they found him….yeah because i bet he was probably still alive when the masseuse went in…anyone in their right mind would have dialed the ambulance, but because she didnt think he would die she called MK to see what she should do. MK called her people hoping to avoid and any media attention and because those two dill-weeds failed to act they wasted precious time that could have saved a life. MK clearly thought her reputation was more important- but i mean really who is she trying to kid, the only link we “might” have to heath and drugs, would be thru her, the obvious chronic mimicked by her physique.

  25. I agree….and the fact that she isnt being investigated leads me to wonder….what ever happened the “good samaritan” law, or isn’t this some sort of criminal negligence….whether she was in New York or not…she was directly involved in a situation that could have saved someones life. She should be held accountable, and what bothers me most is her atttitude that she is untouchable.

  27. HEATH OF BLESSED MEMORY WE PRAY FOR YOU & YOUR FAMILY

I am filled with anger at the idiots that surrounded Heath on his last minutes of life. We loved him!

TO DIE NAKED AND ALONE IN NYC IS HORRIBLE FOR ANYONE; to be surrounded by neglectful idiots and die naked and alone in NYC because of their lack of action seems criminal.

Remember the maid said he was snoring; she did not call 911 when the massage therapist said she could not wake him up, nope she did not call 911 either…

NOPE: instead they called the DOPE: Mary-Kate Olsen.

They called someone familiar and trusted in a panic, someone that obviously was close to Heath. That half brained sleaze; she did not call 911 either…

Fact she was on Heath’s cell phone “speed dial” tells you they were very close; the fact that the maid knew Mary Kate and blah blah. Maybe she just left the apartment; maybe she was really not even in LA… She is guilty of vile deeds. SHAME ON HER.

FOUR phone calls for over 9 almost 10 minutes…CRAZY has a new name; Mary-Kate Olsen; what an idiot…10 minutes maybe could have changed the results of this incident…Did not like Mary-Kate before; we HATE her now!

  29. ganz girl, I do know MKO was in LA, there is video that afternoon of her. I still think we don’t have the entire story and as with most celebrities who die under strange circumstances likely we never will.

I have read supposition he may have died a natural death. Possible: yes. Probable: I don’t think so. Hopefully someone will reveal the truth. These are the stories journalists like to investigate.
