One other thought, if Trope and Trope is paid by Britney, her father and the co-conservator now are making the decisions about her finances. Which means, they decide if Trope and Trope will be paid for this newest court proceeding to challenge their conservatorship. If the conservators cut the purse strings, Trope and Trope is not going to court on her behalf. Who will pay them, Sam? Yeah, like that's gonna happen. I don't even think that dude owns his own car!

Further, if Trope and Trope does start representing Sam, and continues to represent Britney, I think that may be a conflict of interest. They certainly know better than that. It could be that Sam is releasing these stories just to keep up the smear campaign.

You know what's interesting...since the restraining order yesterday, there has only been 1 update about Britney Spears on the different sites. Me thinks it has been Sammy boy all along who's been contacting these sites with all the updates, for which he's probably paid fairly well. Without any contact with BS, that all stops. If that's the case, it looks like the kibosh has been placed on his activities, and gosh, he may have to get a regular job to make whatever money he lives on. Or maybe his mom will let him move in and sponge off of her.

I hope for Britney that she's not let out of the hospital tomorrow morning. That's when the 72-hour psychiatric hold is complete. I can't see her becoming competent enough in 3 days to make some rational decisions. In her addled state, I can only imagine how angry and frustrated she is at her parents, and it will take some time for her to realize these actions were necessary to save her life.

I found it very disconcerting when everyone kept saying ANS didnt die of "drug" use. This was because the drugs were all prescribed to her, but didn't make her death anymore natural than if she had died from a heroin overdose. We all read about the black bag of drugs Howard carried around everywhere they went.

I believe this is where electronic records "could" be helpful because there would a data base to see if a patient is getting drugs from multiple doctors and the pharmacist could wave a red flag that something hinky is going down with a patient -- and not just "stars"

On a side note... I am happy to see a conservatorship set up for Brit. Hopefully Jamie will now kick Sam to the curb ASAP... heaven only knows what is going on with Britney's money, I think it may be time to bring in some accountants to see what is going on and put her on some sort of allowance until she gets her head straight and can handle her own affairs. That girl is burning through a car a month now, and from the sounds of things buys multi-million-dollar houses on a whim as well.

Not to mention that if one doctor doesn't know what another doctor has prescribed for you (and sometimes, even if they DO) medicines can have bad interactions all the time -- especially psych meds.

I also have to wonder just how common "Anna Nicole-style" medical treatment (patient has a headache or tooth pulled and the doctor prescribes oxycontin!) is among doctors-to-the-stars.

Hopefully they will get her clean, and then properly medicated so she can get well (or at least a reasonable facsimilie thereof).

I hate to be a buzzkill, but one thing to remember, many psych patients just don't keep up with their meds. Even when they know the consequences and the dangers. Some will always believe that once they begin feeling better, they don't need the meds anymore. Plus, some don't like the way the meds make them feel -- this seems to be especially true with bipolar medications.

Just like anything else, it's a huge responsibility to be able to manage your own medication, and for some the temptation is too great, especially if they don't have someone with them 24/7 (like a spouse or parent) who can immediately see when something is happening and take the appropriate measures.

Right now, Britney just doesn't seem to have that kind of dependable support system in place, and, sadly, that is what's going to be the ultimate deal breaker, where her mental health is concerned.

As the director of Novus Medical Detox, we see people addicted to all sorts of drugs/alcohol--prescription or street. I think that it is very naive to assume that part of her problems may not be from the prescription drugs she has been taking.

It is an epidemic in this country. We need to stop getting people legally "addicted" and demand that people really know the side effects of these drugs before they start taking them.

Most states have Patient Informed Consent laws. It is time to enforce them and we might prevent tragedies like Britney Spears or the Va. Tech school shooting because the shooter was on prescription drugs that are known to cause violent behavior.

I had hope Sam was going to be kept far, far away from Britney, no such luck. TMZ has video of him leaving UCLA sometime during the night to get Brit some food and returning with In-n-Our Burgers in a bag and two drinks. Sam appears to be camped out at the hospital... sad to say.
