I would be more concerned about what lies beyond the current highest ranking Operating Thetan.
I mean they get new information as they move up the ranks don't they?
So what happens when they reach the top and they can now cope with being given their "special mission" a "mission" so special it takes years of brainwashing to get you to do it...

I would be afraid.. very afraid..

Ooooh, howz this for a crazy conspiracy theory:
What if hubbard was trying to stop the experiment and that's why the people making money off it kept him out of the public for the last 5 or 6yrs of his life? Then they injected him with anti-psychotics before he "abandoned his physical form" in an attempt to discredit him in case he'd gotten through to somebody.

Oh Hello Mr. Bunch of scientologists' names that link to xenu.net,
I think it be more like scientology is the latest spot on the floor. Only thing is, this particular spot really is quite unusual so people are going "hey everybody, come look at this craaaaaazy spot, but watch your step cuz it be a bit sticky!"

I find this is all to be quite the fascinating little cultural phenomenon. Don't ya think?

I'm not a Scientologist but I'd like to agree with Mr.RandomComment, it's sounds like L Ron Hubbard was just a silly guy conducting some fun innocent scientific experiments and maybe some other people took it overboard without his guidance. It's a shame that maybe these Scientologists were maybe just a bit too enthusiastic about helping people at the World Trade Center, they might have been wiser to leave such things to trained rescue personel.

I propose that Anti-Scientology has become a cult unto itself: a small group of angry little people with way too much free time who all have their little conspiracy-theory sites that all link to each other and all chat with each other and all edit Wikipedia together and live in a self-created fantasy world where they're "heroic cult fighters" saving the planet from that evilwickedbad Scientology. I face FAR more of a frighteningly cultic close-minded worldview from these people than I do any Scientologist I have ever met.

For some reason $cientology reminds me of high school when my buddies and I would get bored and do stupid little experiments. Sometimes they were simple little things like going to the mall then gather around at some random moment to look at a spot on the floor. Soon people would start walking up to see what we were looking at, then a small crowd would form - then we'd walk away and see how long it would take for the crowd to disperse. One time we made up a religion but then got a little carried away trying to top each other on what we could get people to believe - but we had to stop cuz it was getting mean. Good lord, we were idiots...
we never even thought to make money off it!
Is it possible hubbard just "left his body" before he got a chance to call off the experiment something?

He's a has-been who won't admit that he's losing his hair and who refuses to admit that his son has autism.

Oh yeah, we're totally jealous.
