Kanye West Upset At Being Played Off

kanyegrammys.jpg

This may be a controversial comment, but I’ve never shied away from speaking my mind.  So here goes:

Kanye West knew beforehand that Grammy Award winners get a certain amount of time to give their acceptance speeches.  So perhaps he should have thanked his mother first, instead of making arrogant comments about the Grammys being his “personal residence” and how other artists should time their albums better so as not to coincide with the year he releases one.

You’re just one or two career missteps from Hammertime, just like anyone else in the public eye.  Nobody’s immune, Kanye.  You’re not curing cancer or anything, just making CDs, so grow up and get over yourself.  Just because your mother died doesn’t make you any less of a pompous diva.

And there you go.

  1. I searched high and low to read something like this, someone who found his bahavior as jerky as I did. I guess I may be biased because in my opinion Kanye West is just….boring. Lots of people’s moms die, Kanye. This does not mean you own the rights to not only the Grammy awards but human suffering as well. Asshole.

  3. Thank you. I didn’t pay much attention to him until I started writing here, but I agree…he’s quite the jerk.

GlossLip, telling it like it is. Tell your friends! :)

  5. I thought after his mothers death he would be more humble. I guess not. It appears he has grown more arrogant and self centered. In fact his flow is wack and disjointed.

  7. You know, he did a subtly self-deprecating bit with Wayne Brady on another awards show a few months ago. At the time I thought maybe he isn’t such an A-hole. Then he goes and proves he is one at the Grammys. To hell with him.

  9. It was a touching tribute he gave to his mom.

Too bad his arrogance really overshadowed any sort of sympathy anyone could have for him after the unexpected loss of his mother.

  11. I couldn’t agree more. Kanye is not as talented as he thinks. Consider this: He was on the same stage as Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Herbie Hancock and Ringo Starr. Will Kanye be invited to perform at the grammys 25 years from the start of his career? Will his music be as timeless as proud mary, watermelon man or RESPECT? The grammys are your permanent residence dude… you can’t even rent space here. You’re just one “thong song” away from being forgotten about and clowned. I know the writers at best week ever are glad that upon the strike being over, Kanye made their first week back almost write itself.

  13. I LOVED what Vince Gill said to him, about Vince being handed an award by a Beatle!

Vince said later that he was kidding, but I’m not so sure. I think it was Vince’s way of telling little girl to grow up.

  17. OMG! I have also been searching for something like this. I was glad that Vince and Usher both made comments on Kanye’s nasty and arrogant comments. I am very saddend about his mothers death but after he made those comments about being the Grammy’s is his residence and poking fune at the fact that Common or Nas didnt win, boy I cannot stand Kanye. I actually wish they drowned him out for the remainder of his performance because after all that I really didnt even want to here his sincerity for his mother. I was just disgusted by him, but just like those arrogant suckers before him, he will be shut up and shut down much sooner then later. Good Riddens to him and his music, that album really only was good because of his duos with T-Pain, the rest of that crap sucked.

  21. Man, these artist of today are so delusional and cocky. When you have been in the business and pushing out hits and music with some substance that will stand the test of time over the next twenty five plus years, then we can talk. Until then, Kanye sit your whack ass down. It is not all about you dude. Can we say, “MC Hammer and Sisqo”. You better learn from those guys that arrogance and cockiness will hurt your career.
