New Court Papers Allege That Britney Spears Is Bored
Oh, the saga never ends, does it? After I typed what was probably the shortest Brit post I’ve personally ever done, this news goes and hits the internets. It would seem that Britney feels that she’s being held against her will, and isn’t allowed to do the things that make her life worth living:
In the documents obtained by TMZ, attorney Jon Eardley claims Britney’s rights have been snatched away from her and she has been cut off from life as she knows it.
Eardley claims, “It is doubtful that Ms. Spears can receive equal protection and a fair trial or hearing in the custody proceedings because of the intense media scrutiny of what would normally be private aspects of a person’s life.” It appears Eardley wants an injunction issued in federal court, asking the judge for the power to protect Brit in the custody case as well.
The documents allege “the deprivation of her civil liberties by the conservator is so severe as to interfere with the effectiveness of the scheduled medications that are covered by the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act.” This appears to be an attempt to get the Federal court to accept jurisdiction.
However, some see it as introducing this thing called “normality” to Britney’s chaos-filled life:
The singer’s father has been overseeing her well-being and her $100-million fortune since Feb. 1, when Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz named him and Andrew Wallet temporary co-conservators – giving them the right to employ bodyguards who control her actions and restrict her visitors.
Since then, they seem to have kept the pop princess on a tight leash, forcing Britney to keep an uncharacteristically low profile (no appearance of her pink wig, no overnight stays at the Four Seasons). Although she has been spending much time holed up at her Summit house, she was recently spotted shopping with her mom, Lynne, and has been making regular trips to the Millennium Dance Complex.
And apparently, Britney does not want:
While Spears has been on her best behavior, sources say she’s been text-messaging friends from inside the house, complaining that she’s bored.
“She’s getting proper medical care and has professional security. The chaos has been removed from the situation,” says one legal insider[.]
According to TMZ, it seems that Brit’s old pal Osmarmy bin Loopy and his buddy Michael Sands could be behind the filing, but they aren’t quite sure how. It would make sense, though…by complaining that Brit doesn’t have access to her money and friends, Osmarmy is one step closer to smarming his way back into her life. We also don’t know if Brit herself has been in touch with Smarmy; since he has not yet been served with the restraining order taken out against him, it isn’t illegal for him to be in touch with her (the paps always know where he is, why don’t the cops?).
I’m sure Britney is bored. The constant adrenaline rush that was her life for so long is probably the only life she knows, and what passes for a boring normal life for a celebrity (going to dance studio, practicing, going home) probably does feel dull to her in comparison. But I hope she sticks with it, because if she does she will eventually see that she doesn’t need the adrenaline rush that her old lifestyle provided.
You see, the problem with the adrenaline rush lifestyle is that, like a drug or alcohol addiction, as your body adjusts to the rush you need more and more to get the same feeling. Britney’s behavior, as her mental illness worsened, became more and more dependent upon these adrenaline rushes, and they had to be more and more outrageous to get the same amount of rush. It’ll take some time for her to adjust to the more quiet lifestyle (well, as quiet as a celeb’s lifestyle gets) that her family wants her to adopt…in other words, a more normal lifestyle for a celebrity of her notoriety. And as her medication begins to work (don’t forget, it was only a few weeks ago she was carted off to the hospital again), she’ll start to realize that it really is much better this way.
I don’t think her family wants her to stop having fun…they just want the chaos to stop.
Plus, I have to point out that while the court papers state that Britney has no private life, that’s because Britney herself (whether borne of the mental illness or just because she’s not that smart, or both) has chosen to make it that way. There are many celebrities who manage to keep their private life just that…private. It takes work, but it can be done.
And in other Brit news, her brother Brian (at last, somebody NOT named Jamie or Lynne or some variant thereof) has been named the trustee of his sister’s trust:
The trust had been entirely in Brit’s name, however, according to the court files, other people can be added to the if the acting trustee “is under a legal disability or if by reason of illness or mental or physical disability, in the written opinion of two doctors then practicing medicine, he or she is unable to manage his or her affairs.”
I think that fits.
You see, what Britney hopefully will come to realize is that she has been incapable of taking care of herself, her children, her money, her career, and anything associated with anything in her life outside of breathing for quite some time now. That isn’t a slam against her, that’s just the truth as I see it. And what her father, her brother, the judge, her ex-husband, and anyone involved with this are trying to do is not to take away her fun or her freedoms, but to temporarily remove anything from her life that she needs to be in charge of.
This way, she can concentrate on one thing, and one thing only…getting herself well. Once she is well on the road to mental recovery, gradually these things will be returned to her, or placed in the care of people whom Britney chooses. At this time she simply is not mentally capable under the law of making those kinds of decisions, and it is just this kind of situation that the court has to intervene in.  However, it was just this sort of filing that got Brit sprung from the hospital in the first place.
They’re just protecting her from herself…and from people like Osmegma bin Luftwaffe.
Oh, and Lynne flew back to Kentwood today…Uncle Willie is probably tired of fetching Jamie Lynn’s Cheetos and Faygo pop.
But seriously…Britney “may be the most public person who has ever lived”? Puh-leeze. In fifty years nobody will even know her name, except as a cautionary tale.
UPDATE: The Daily Mail is reporting that Britney’s father no longer has control:
The legal conservatorship granted to Britney’s father Jamie Spears - and more recently her brother Bryan who attempted to get control over her day-to-day finances - has been deemed invalid.
New York attorney Jon Eardley is now acting on behalf of the 26-year-old, who was desperate to regain control over her life - and estimated $100-million fortune.
Eardley’s new spokesperson Michael Sands says a legal loophole means yesterday’s order by commissioner Reva Goetz to extended the conservatorship order until at least March 10 is “void and invalid”.
Sands tells Mail Online: “Because the latest court order appointing Britney’s father conservator wasn’t signed until after the notice of removal was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, the order extending the conservatorship is void.”
He continued: “It not necessary to have a federal judge or magistrate sign a notice of removal.”
It means Mr Spears is now unable to restrict Britney’s visitors or approve contracts.
Sands also represents Britney’s former manager Sam Lutfi, but sources say Britney’s new lawyer came to him independently.
The respected Hollywood publicist, who also acts as a media image consultant, previously worked for Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Kaplan, before quitting to work for Lutfi last week.
I’ve not seen anything about this in the US press, so it may or may not be true.

Sam must be having withdrawals of his own, somehow I think he got off on controlling her and being able to lead the paps directly to where she was 24/7. Making her seem small made him feel important. I really hope when they finish auditing her books Sammy is off to the slammer….
BTW, has anyone seen Britney at all today? I am wondering if the rumors she flew out to Missouri today are true??? But why MO except to maybe catch a connecting flight somewhere else… inquiring minds…

You know, I’ve said it so many times I know it’s lost it’s impact, but that was brilliant. Great insight and with a touch of warmth and compassion.

She still has friend to send text messages to?
Manics are ALWAYS bored and restless and wanting to do stupid, random stuff like driving aimlessly around Los Angeles endangering themselves and innocent bystanders with their reckless driving, buying cars and houses on a whim, shopping at 2am for stuff they don’t need but have suddenly got a jones for, and so forth. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she’s “bored”.
Let’s hope the conservatorship continues long enough for her to get really SERIOUS health. I was relieved to see the court didn’t just turn her loose the way the hospital did. I hope it keeps up. As much as I find Britney Spears a bit annoying at times and not that talented the rest of the time, she’s still a human being with a family who apparently love her, and she’s worth saving. I hope her family can make it possible for her to be saved.

My guess is she’s sending them to Sam. Since he hasn’t been served yet, they can still legally communicate.
Doesn’t she look ticked in that first photo?

Yes, I’ve noticed the pictures the past few days she looks like a petulant child. I think she doesn’t appreaciate being “handled” and is acting out and pouting. I was disappointed her dad has allowed Adnan to visit (and spend the night???)…
Britney needs new friends and even a new environment for now. Somehow, I think those cell phones would mysteriously disappear if it was up to me.
BTW, what do you make of the stuff Hubby #1 Jason Alexander has been spewing to InTouch? I cannot believe she doesn’t want to see her boys and is saying she will just have more kids later. My intuition tells me Jason is still trying for his 15 minutes of fame.
Kevin OTOH is considering $200,000 for some interview in which he will not discuss Britney; and they offered him $500,000 if he would spill all about her and refused.
I guess the reason I keep following this is I hope she will somehow get well and not end up like Frances Farmer.

No one should end up like poor Frances Farmer. In this day and age that would be a tremendous tragedy. I just wish the media would treat its coverage of her with a little more decorum. She isn’t normal, and treating her like she is and reporting on her behavior in a gawking sort of manner is so missing the point.
I think k’s angle is the most true and honest so far.

It seems there’s been more legal maneuverings today concerning the papers filed yesterday to get this moved to Federal court.
I don’t want to write about it just yet, not until more facts are in.
But I’m telling you, I’m about ready to wash my hands of the whole thing.

Did you read that Mr. Luftwaffe is being investigated by LA’s finest in response to the allegations that he drugged Britney?
His idiotic spokesman as much as admitted it when he remarked during a press conference earlier this month that “Sam was giving her cocktails…I don’t know which doctor prescribed those three drugs [the antipsychotic medications Risperdal and Seroquel and the stimulant Adderall], but the medication she was taking was not agreeing with her. It wasn’t the right cocktail.”
Apparently, unbeknownst to Oslimey, you sorta need to be a MEDICAL DOCTOR to be able to do stuff like that.
Sheesh. How long until Alli Sims files a lawsuit for something just to get her name back in the papers again?
