I would have thought that overdose might have done that for her but apparently not. I have heard that NA is less successful in Britain because most people there believe it's still acceptable to drink while trying to stay clean. we have seen the same with Pete Dougherty. The problem is (aside from the dangers inherent to alcohol itself, which are of course very significant) that once a person is drinking, their judgment is impaired and they're 200% more likely to think they can get away with doing just a little bit of whatever other drug gets them into trouble...a little bit becomes a whole pile, of course, and there they are again.
