Andrew Morton: Anonymous Extraordinary, Church of Scientology Fascistic
This is final and 5th segment of Glosslip’s interview with famed biographer Andrew Morton. In this clip, Morton addresses the Anonymous phenomena and talks about how Scientology’s claims to help people need to be scrutinized using both empirical and scientific methods.
Morton also suggests that any religion needs to be able to survive criticism if they are to continue, and the Church of Scientology, like Islamic fundamentalism is threatening our worldview with a fascistic and dangerous mindset and needs a closer look by society.
I will be writing a review of the book which was a wonderful resource for learning more about Tom Cruise and most certainly, Scientology. It’s also a very well-written book by a serious, but grounded man. I can’t thank Andrew enough for making time for me, he couldn’t have been more gracious.

Go Andrew Morton!
Anonymous, the mighty internet herd of cats, are glad to hear words of support.
Btw, his book was, in fact, awesome.

A nice man and a clever one, too. Dunno if his book sparked the revolution, per se, but he has been a supporting force to it.
Thanks, Andrew. We really are appreciative of your courage. Let’s continue to hope that you’re harassment free.

Andrew was the first one and thanks to him and St. Martin’s Press for taking the plunge so to speak!
What he says is so true.
thanks for interviewing him!

Oddly enough, I think St. Martins was the UK publisher for Hubbard’s “Battlefield Earth” saga, at least the first time around. Bridge Pubs was crowing about the prestigious publisher that they had lined up.

What’s with the Scientology ads on the site?
Comment by Bill — March 28, 2008 @ 4:42 pm
Seriously, enough with the asking about the Scientology ads. It’s getting old. No offense Bill, but I’ve done about all I am going to do. We blocked Scientology.org from the list of Adsense domains, but again I will reiterate, I do NOT control adsense, if Scientology buys ads from Google and I post about Scientology, the algorithm will automatically put them on my site.
Please don’t make me address this again. As little money as this site makes, I really don’t see any reason to go around blocking the occasional domain that happens to get picked up.
Am I testy, yes, I guess I am.

Hey..I was listening to my sirius radio today..they have a jock on there by the name of bubba the love sponge (yeah..I know). They interviewed one of LRH’s grandkids..I’ll try and get the interview and post it somewhere..but it was amazing. He talked about being harassed by the Co$ (he’s sp to the extreme in their eyes), verified the xenu story, talked about grandpappy quite a bit…it was a great interview. Actually, interview in the loosest sense. They asked very few questions, he carried the entire segment. The date of the original airing was in mid january.
One of his anecdotes was a Travolta story relayed to him by an ex-osa agent. He was told that Travolta got SAturday Night fever for some gay bath house joint in Fla. The OSA guy said he was sent in to pay the place off so they wouldn’t talk.
It was a hilarious and insightful piece.

Who am I kidding. I miss my family. I miss my money. I miss my sanity…
But DM has so much blackmail on me from my audits!
Help me, Anonymous, you’re my only hope…

k here once again.
How many times do I have to keep saying this? Whether you be CoS or anon, stop impersonating other people. It’s confusing to n00bs, not to mention rude. And it’s disrespectful to Dawn and I because we have to waste OUR time rooting out who is who.
So put a sock in it or take your suckpoppetry somewhere else.
Comment by k — March 28, 2008 @ 10:50 pm
That does it, from this day forward I am no longer a Scientologist. I have had the blinders on me for far too long and this has ruined too many lives.
Comment by bgodley — March 28, 2008 @ 11:06 pm
please, enough of the impersonating OSA operatives as k said. They’ll just be back with another nick.
Comment by Jukka — March 28, 2008 @ 11:30 pm
Time for all the loser celebrity scientologists to pretend they are appalled and renounce their so-called religion, I’d say. No way can anyone in this day and age claim ignorance of who / what Scientology is and the evil it does. Boycott anyone who supports / is a Scientogolist. Donate to Anonymous, time and money. Write to the media and insist they report on this evil cult. Good work, Dawn!

Fabulous sensitive and informative interviews. Andrew Morton’s comments about “empirical science” needing to back up certain assertions are insightful and spot on. I now understand why Diana entrusted her bio to him!
Comment by Aussie in Niseko — March 29, 2008 @ 2:04 am
Thank you for this interview Dawn, and thank you to Andrew too.
His book did actually spark the revolution (perhaps indirectly). Most of us trace the beginning back to the censoring of the Tom Cruise video, but if you look into why the TC vid was leaked, you’ll find it had something to do with the release of his book.
Comment by anonkneemess — March 29, 2008 @ 6:52 am
# 25, you are in fact precisely correct. It was not a coincidence, and it was not done just to garner interest in the book, but rather to draw attention to the CoS for a far more noble purpose.
Comment by D — March 29, 2008 @ 10:37 am
I read the book the day is was released to my local city and it was wonderful. There were things about the Scientology crime syndicate covered in the book that were back with evidence which had not previously been widely discussed in alt.religion.scientology before.
There are no Earth-shattering revelations in the book; it’s pretty much a composite of a great deal of stuff that was already known about Cruise and about the crime syndicate, but it’s put together extremly well and has various informative insights along the way.

Morton just helped things along.

cool, wish the guy would stop dreaming about his book having anything to do with it
Comment by n/a — March 30, 2008 @ 10:10 pm
#31 After meeting him was quite apparent this is pretty level headed many without a huge ego like people seem to think, in no way does he think his book is the REASON for Anon, but those who were interested in his book and the contents released the video - they were two peas of the same pod.
And I have been told by many Anons that the video being pulled has a lot to do with the latest wave of protests and sentiment, so in a way, he was at least tangentially responsible. This is why I wanted to speak to him.
Other than Paulette Cooper’s book decades ago, his is the first to really expose some their abuses. Give the man some credit. This has not been an easy project to promote.
Comment by D — March 30, 2008 @ 11:19 pm
hey, andrew morton’s book coincided with the rage felt by anons over the attempt by co$ to pull the tom cuise ‘I am a turd, truly I am’ footage off the web. they think they can bully the internet community in the same way that they bully their paying sad zombiefied followers, but they did not reckon on us and our attempt to shut them down and to free thier victims. Where can we donate money to anonymous to fight these creeps? it is their huge money that lets them trample over people with their lawyers and we need to set up a fund to fight back!
