Ian Halperin Film Premiere Sabotage Update, Ten Viruses Detected, Fingerprints Taken

I have some additional information in the ongoing investigation of equipment tampering which took place during the March 25, “His Highness Hollywood” premiere in New York at the National Arts Club.

Ian Halperin, author of Hollywood Undercover, and filmmaker reported that the NAC detected TEN viruses loaded onto the NAC laptop used during the viewing of the film. If you will recall from my earlier report, Ian and the team at NAC did a scan just prior to the film’s screening and the laptop used came up completely clean of viruses. In the wake of the screening fiasco, the NAC launched an official investigation into the apparent sabotage which took place and were able to identify at least one of the malicious programs as a trojan.

The NAC is also having the laptop dusted for fingerprints. Hopefully they will be able to isolate the ones responsible, although with the number of people at the event, this may prove difficult. Ian also informed me that a NEW screening of the film is scheduled to take place soon (I can’t reveal the location or the date because of increased concerns about additional tampering) and that they have already assigned a team of four security personnel to guard the equipment at the next event.

Why do I keep hearing the Pink Panther theme in my head? This would be laughable if it weren’t so serious. I’m sure Ian has a back up of his film so all this does is lend more credence to the “cloak and dagger” show of the CoS. Also great publicity for Ian even though I’m sure he was frustrated and embarassed by the initial incident. The NAC is probably more embarassed since it was their equipment that was tampered with. Good job as always Dawn. Gee how tall is Andrew Morton anyway?

I was wearing heels, but I’d bet Andrew is about 6′3″. He’s also quite broad shouldered. Ian smells nice too btw. I didn’t close enough to Andrew to relay such information, sorry.

I’m glad they were able to get down to the serious business of proving there was some sabotage.

BTW, if there is any hint of a west coast screening, can I be your Joanie-on-the-spot? Or at least meet up with you if you head out this way? It’s been almost two years since I saw you last!
