Anonymous Hopes To Unite Gays, Lesbians Against Church Of Scientology’s Anti-Gay Policy

A faction of Anonymous have identified a long-standing policy within the Church of Scientology which states that gays and gay lifestyles are “aberrations” and need to be eliminated out of the population — but in some cases, as in those with large sums of cash and a willingness to believe the teachings of the CoS, they have offered a cure to homosexuality.
This type of assertion is harmful not only to gays within the Church of Scientology, but to gays outside the Church. To assume you can “cure” a person of a genetically predisposed condition which manifests itself as a part of that person’s personality and essentially their whole “being” is disingenuous at best, and degrading at worst.
The Church can’t cure anyone of being “gay,” anymore than they can cure someone of being black, or having red hair, or big feet. Unless the Church of Scientology plans to genetically modify a person’s DNA with their superhuman mindpowers, such claims of cures are dubious and meant to defraud vulnerable people of their money.
Fortunately, as part of this awareness, this faction in Anonymous have created a public awareness campaign to inform those outside of the growing movement against Scientology of these bogus and insulting claims and beliefs:
Here’s the press release Glosslip received:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to draw your attention to a recent claim that the Church of Scientology attempts to “cure” homosexual behaviour.
Canadian author Ian Halperin posed as a gay actor to research his new book. He describes one encounter with the Church of Scientology as follows:
“When I told them I was gay they told me that they could de-programme my homosexuality though a technique called auditing and that was one of the first times that they admitted on record that they could do that.”[1]
Mr Halperin’s story appears to be corroborated by the testimony of ex-Scientologists themselves. Recently, Kendra Wiseman, daughter of a prominent Scientologist, has related this story[2]:
“The first and last time I ever kissed a woman was at a private party. I kissed her in front of a [Scientology] member who went home and immediately wrote a full-length report on what she had seen, and sent it to my senior and my parents. I was disciplined for this at work, and cautioned against this behavior at home. And lemme tell ya, there’s nothing more embarrassing than your boss and your dad reading a full blow-by-blow of your one and only lesbian experience.”
On the other hand, gay Scientologist Keith Relkin speaking[3] in 2000 clearly contradicts both statements:
“… What’s more, Scientology has the most iron-clad, non-discriminatory policy I’ve ever come across regarding sexual orientation.”
Also of note is Michael Pattinson, who says the following[4] based on 24 years’ membership of the cult:
“Being gay, even when only in thought, is incompatible with being on staff, and also with being a Scientologist at all.”
There is clearly a controversy here but I have no doubt that ‘reparative therapy’ for LGBT people is harmful and discriminatory. I would therefore appreciate it if you could give this issue your attention.
Yours,
Anonymous

I encourage those openly gay gossip, celeb and entertainment news sites to help spread the word. Petition Perezhilton.com, Dlisted.com, Queerty.com, and definitely Gawker.com, because they are the gayest of all sites, minus the great hair, cool clothes and innate sense of taste.
This is just ONE of many spurious claims the Church of Scientology has made which has destroyed lives. How many more are we going to allow?

Note the citation by the anon to differing evidence.
The mark of good analysis.
You won’t see Co$ doing this.

scientology seems set on “disconnecting” itself from everyone on Earth. Soon they’re be nobody left to recruit. What a shame!
Also I always thought Tom Cruise and David Miscavage were secretly gay.

Buckle up solider, we are in this for the win. Even if we have to all become temporarily gay to win this fight, it must be done.

Kudos for posting this. I feel its a shame that actors like John Travolta and othersare lured in thinking they can be “cured”.
Being gay is nothing to be ashamed of. Its a natural thing. It is life. They have so many human rights abuses its scary.
Everyone should youtube search the Jason Beghe interview as well as look for it on Fox News.
Now I’m not a fan of Fox News but I applaud them for giving Jason coverage especially when he said that people were claiming he might not be completely “clear” (i.e. reached a state of more then human powers) because he had a friend that was gay.
I mean COME ON!
Anyways everyone should show Anonymous support. Get educated everyone. Check out Xenu.net
Again thank you for this wonderful article

The church clams that they discontinued the persecution of homosexuals. This is a lie. In the “policy letter” they often quote to claim they cancelled the policy towards homosexuals states at the bottom “Processing, not dicipline, is the only thing that eradicates aberration of such depth.” In other words, instead of being punished for being gay, you’ll simply have to pay for more auditing to “handle” your “aberration”.
source, and policy letter:

Hubbard also stated, in Science of Survival : “Such people should be taken from the society as rapidly as possible and uniformly institutionalized; for here is the level of the contagion of immorality, and the destruction of ethics; here is the fodder which secret police organizations use for their filthy operations. One of the most effective measures of security that a nation threatened by war could take would be rounding up and placing in a containment…”
