Norwegian Media Coverage Of Scientology Related Suicide Unprecedented

Just saw this on Operation Clambake from Andreas himself about 20-year-old student Kaja Ballo’s death:

The media coverage on this in Norway has been unprecedented for any event ever related to CoS. I was on the phone or in studio all day yesterday to help explain what has happened. Had to fly to Oslo to attend several live TV debates. I seriously doubt there is one person left in Norway who has not learned about this tragedy by now.

I can’t list them all, but some of the press coverage and a few pictures are linked here:

http://www.xenu.net/news/

You can see a picture series of the head of CoS in Norway, Matthias Fosse and me here (taken at TV studio between debates yesterday):

This is very high profile and the media is working overtime to cover this! The direct connection to the Church of Scientology is unusually clear and her father is a very high profiled and influential politician in Norway. He has been in the Norwegian Parliament since 1997, he studied medicine at University of Würzburg, and has been a doctor. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Justice (!) and the Vice President of the Odelsting (the “lower house” in the Parliament). The Norwegian Minister of Finance and many others attended Kaja’s funeral. At the service the priest made a clear and special effort to link her death to the Church of Scientology.

The family has asked that this tragic story is debated publicly and friends of Kaja have been told they should become critics of the Church of Scientology. This is not going away. The close family has said they trust the French police and are awaiting the result of their investigation.

I hope the May 10 picket in Oslo will be an event respectful of her memory and something Norwegians will remember a long time.

I’ll try to keep you updated.

Contrary to earlier assumptions Kaja’s family has encouraged on-going debate about her tragic death. Norway has a history of being open and accepting of all faiths, for this progressive Scandinavian country which lives in relative peace and equanimity to blatantly point the finger at a “religious” organization is as Andreas points out “unprecedented.” As Glosslip has been warning for months, the United States better get with the program or it will be left looking the fool for allowing a dangerous organization to not just operate within its borders, but FLOURISH, all under the protective watch of our First Amendment. I won’t even mention the unfair tax break only Scientology gets. Oh wait, I just did.

  3. It really is unfortunate that people should have to die before realizing that the CoS is an evil, corrupt cult. Hopefully the protests shall raise awareness on all issues, and the CoS will have no more victims.

There is proof of the manipulative and dangerous sales tactics used by Scientologists from Scientology itself

An image from a Scientology website reads
“She laughed when I asked her to take a stress test. She cried when I found her ruin.”

They are trained to make a person cave in emotionally so they feel they have no hope without Scientology. They boast about finding and exploiting a person’s “ruin”

  15. Sad that a person took their own life. Sad indeed. Sadder still that her suicide isn’t understood. Alas. Woe.

  17. Terryeo, what’s really sad is that however little her suicide may be understood. The one thing that is absolutely understood is Scientology’s motivation for giving her that test.

They didn’t seek to harm her, they didn’t seem to help her. They simply didn’t care. Because the only thing they were and are interested in is money.

It was money when they tried to get her to laugh as they offered her the test.

It was money when they tried to make her cry as they found her “ruin”.

Just as it’s money they will now seek to protect as they try to “handle” the “flap.” No doubt with more of Ron’s criminal and immoral methods.

I know you read a lot of the critical information online, and I know that some of it is incorrect. I also know that Scientology doctrine makes it very difficult to objectively examine critical information, especially in your own mind.

You’re clearly a strong person, with strong convictions - you wouldn’t be able to do your job if you weren’t - but honestly, in your heart of hearts, do you really never wonder whether much of the criticism levelled against the Church, the subject and even Ron, may not in fact be the more honest analysis of the facts?

Whatever, it is as it is. But I do find it hard to reconcile. Anyway. Take care. Seriously :-)

  19. Flunk Terryeo. You fail at drawing the conversation away from its point and the truth. The fact is, as Anonymous says above, that the cultists did not care about her one way or another. They just wanted raw meat to pump cash out of.

But then, scientology is one big FLUNK.

  21. Jeez Scientology, here was your chance to really get a high profile figure in Norway! I bet that auditor is having wonderful time in RPF right now for creating this flap.

Scientology does not teach people skills. Let alone talking to people with mental disorders.

  23. Could this be the beginning of the end of the evil cult? If so, next step should be to cut them off from their life blood of existence - Money.

For, if new membership dries up, if they are banned in countries from operating, if class actions suits are launched…then we might see the erosion of this insidious cult from the planet.

  25. Scientologists are trained to find your ruin and convince you that taking courses will assist you in overcoming your problems.

When you pretend to be a religion, you will attract people in crisis. Scientology is simply not equipped to deal with people in crisis. Pretending to be mental health experts really backfired on them this time. But they will claim, “Our tech is perfect, the customer is always at fault.”

“Sad that a person took their own life. Sad indeed. Sadder still that her suicide isn’t understood. Alas. Woe.”

Seriously, is it his/her job to make sure that the general public rises up against Scientology?? I hope that it’s not the real Terryeo - would be a mark of a person too far gone….

This can’t be Terryeo– he’d claim that some pharma company did it, or just not post at all.

Also, it’s lacking his Gene Shalit-esque singing.

And if it is, then he’s suggesting that suicide is a wonderful thing.

  33. Go VIKINGS!

If we have to destroy Scientology one country at a time, so be it. And about the USA looking foolish for not getting with the program: The USA doesn’t seem to mind this about anything else, whether it’s torture or global warming. Anyway, we are making good connections in the Congress and other entities. Scientology cult/corporation is doomed. May this be the final Scientology-related suicide.
