You tell ‘em, Dawn. YouTube is a bunch of cowards, using a technicality in their own hypocritical rules to justify bowing to Co$ intimidation.

And don’t be fooled - it is the Co$ that is responsible. Viacom didn’t even know about xenutv1 until ANONYMOUS told them about it. YouTube is using Viacom’s copyright claim on Bunker’s old account to justify banning him a second time, even though the only violation he has is making another account after his first one was banned unfairly. They are doing this because the Co$ is definitely paying them $$$ for advertising, and is likely intimidating them through other means.

Don’t let Co$ and YouTube censor free speech.

I applaud Glosslip for taking an unequivocal public stand concerning YouTube and the Church of Scientology.

I have noticed recently that the Church of Scientology has made a major ad buy at YouTube. How big of a check did Scientology write to Google’s YouTube division for online ads? And did that Scientology Blood Money come with any strings attached? Did YouTube execs promise Scientology special treatment on YouTube in exchange for a hefty, long-term ad buy on certain keywords? If something like this happened, and if the information were leaked to a concerned public, God help YouTube because the public will be outraged.

Google’s YouTube execs need to get it straight to their heads that they have offended their key demographic — young people — by siding with the Church of Scientology.

The world may need a “Boycott YouTube Day” to send a message to Google execs as well as those companies and individuals who purchase advertising on YouTube and Google that the public wants, expects, and demands the free flow of information from YouTube.

I can understand Google accommodating the Chinese Government, but Scientology? Get real GOOG or this thing could ultimately affect Google’s public perception and perhaps even its stock price. As a GOOG shareholder, I am ethically conflicted as to whether or not I should maintain my position in GOOG or buy Microsoft and Yahoo shares ahead of the discussed partnership.
