Author, Filmmaker Ian Halperin Makes Public Appeal For Jackie Collins’ Protection
The weirdness continues, and this time it involves a hot women, darkened SUV’s and suspicious persons in mid-town Manhattan.
I got a rather panicked call from Ian Halperin yesterday. Ian, as you may remember, is the NYTimes best-selling author and filmmaker who did a documentary for his newly released book, Hollywood Undercover. Glosslip was invited to the film premiere of His “Highness Hollywood”, which chronicled the chapters in the book. A portion of the movie focused on Halperin’s undercover persona “His Highness” going into the Church of Scientology under the guise of checking it out for his “wealthy royal Israeli uncle.” What Ian uncovered was racism, homophobia and a dangerous, secretive organization designed to make large sums of money from its followers.
Since the release of the book and now the film, Ian has been the target of harassment, including: a barrage of phone calls and hang ups, threatening messages to “keep his f*cking mouth shut” or something bad will happen, was almost hit by a car, his film premiere was sabotaged (which I witnessed) and now, he’s got another strange incident to report:
“I received another ten hang-ups in the last two days, and while I was out on Saturday evening, well past midnight, I was approached by a beautiful, but mysterious woman who tried to pick me up. I was waiting for my friend who was in the drugstore at the time, when a huge Cadillac Suv pulled up along side me. She said, “Hey, you want to come hang out with me?” I told her I was waiting for my friend and heading home, but she persisted. “Awww, come on, lets go get a drink and have some fun.” At this point I peaked into the darkened windows of the SUV and saw a man sitting back in the shadows, hiding his face. I slipped back and the young woman said, “Hey aren’t you that undercover writer? I’ve seen you before, you make films right.” This set off major red flags as I am NEVER recognized on the streets, especially since I usually am “undercover.” I moved away from the car and by then my friend came out of the store. When I turned back around the SUV sped off.”
Ian asked Glosslip to help him make a public appeal to legendary mega-selling author Jackie Collins for protection. Collins, voted Halperin’s best-selling undercover book on the world of modeling, Bad and Beautiful, book of the year in 2002. Despite having hired a security guard, Ian feels the only way he can keep himself protected is to reach out through the media.
“I have to start reaching out to my most powerful contacts in the business for protection. And the most powerful contact I have is Jackie Collins. So Jackie, if you’re reading this, please contact me, I need your help. I can be reached through my coordinates or Glosslip.”
Halperin made a point of stressing to me he doesn’t know WHO is harassing him at this point, simply because, Hollywood Undercover, has stirred controversy in both the Church of Scientology and Hollywood executive circles. He managed to raise the ire of all sorts of people with his revealing inside look at these two sometimes sinister groups.
“Jackie, again I am not sure who exactly is harassing me, it could be the Church of Scientology, or Hollywood higher-ups who are pissed off at the contents of the book, but whoever is behind it, I am asking you to step in and help.”
While paranoia runs deep when dealing with these elements, I expressed healthy skepticism and asked Ian why he’d be worried about some hot chick wanting to hang out with him. He acknowledge that it wasn’t just the woman, but a string of coincidences which set him off.
“The prospect of recognizing an undercover author in mid-town Manhattan is equivalent to finding a real set of breasts on Robertson Blvd.”
As I’ve hinted at lately, the Church of Scientology has become very agitated (enturbulated in Scio-speak) and I have noticed a dramatic change in their strategy and on-line efforts. They are not to be underestimated. That said, we don’t know WHO is harassing Ian Halperin, but hopefully reaching out to an industry heavy-weight like Jackie Collins will help.

Jimminiy H Cricket! What next? It’s kinda disturbing that people will go to great lenghts to harass and intimidate people just for speaking the truth. Ian sadly must have hit pretty close to home and these types of actions only add to the public’s desire to look further. I know I might not have bought Ian’s book had it come out 6 months ado but with the latest shenanigans it can only make his book more desirable thus defeats the “intimidation” tactics of the Cos or whomever. Stay safe Ian and saty away from women in Big SUVs.

Ian, you can count on Anonymous. We are experienced at defeating fair game, though they seem to be taking harder measures against you. Document everything and keep a camera and audio recorder on you. Get any licence plates you see and let us know about them on enturbulation.net. You can post anonymously. We are building files on this and also we have people who can find out info. Also get law enforcement involved and talk to the FBI. The FBI still has a bone to pick with Scientology. They do not forgive or forget either.

this ain’t no p.r. stunt. Simply, it sounds like the author is being harassed by either the Church or some Hollywood executive types. In fact, both of these entities have a long standing history of going after folks who rub them the wrong way.

We must find a way to support people who have experienced conflict with the CoS because it is notorious for attacking critics and/or those who say something which detracts from its reputation.
Not that I advocate blindly accepting what anyone says, but let’s all err on the side of caution and compassion. CoS OSA agents are admittedly skilled at “gaslighting,” “noisy investigations,” and “social engineering” to cast doubt on, intimidate, and otherwise gain information on anyone it deems a threat.
I hope Ian gets protection. Who knows what to make of this recent encounter? Anyone who knows much about the CoS, though, must at least suspect nefarious actions to “dead agent” Halperin.

As for IAN he needs to get everyone involved ” MEDIA, FBI, EX-SCIENTOLOGISTS THAT KNOW 1ST HAND ABOUT FAIR GAMING,ETC………..” The CO$ is no fuckin joke the folks are crazy and should not be aloud to do the type of things they do. Why do you think they dont like to be video taped? There is a difference between P.R. (public relations) and Publicity number 9. His story seems so contrived. I am well aware of the Organization Scientology’s past and present “fair gaming” of critics, but something smells fishy to me with this one. Sorry to throw water on these flames, just sharing my intuition.

His story resonates true. I’ve followed the Church for years and they resort to these types of measures. Also, he points out clearly that it might not even be Scientology and that it might be someone in Hollywood. He’s definitely fair.

#13, I understand your skepticism, and I can appreciate your concern. But, I also know Ian on a personal level and I was there for the premiere (as were many others)– what happened was sabotage.
Being in the public eye and criticizing the Church is WAY different than being a private unknown citizen.
The CoS has a habit of attacking high profile critics. Ian wouldn’t be the first and he sure won’t be the last.
Btw, I called to check in on him because he was so utterly freaked out yesterday (this has been going on for months now) and he said he deeply appreciates the support of Anonymous and thinks what you guys are doing is brave and commendable.
I asked him to come over here and comment, but he’s been advised to not post directly on the internet by his lawyer and for security purposes.
This guy’s the real deal folks. I would like to think I’ve built a sense of trust on my reporting. Is it sensationalized? Well f*ck yeah, but it’s a celeb site for crying out loud, sensational is what we do. But in no way does that make it untrue.

My comment to Terryeo was in regards to Ian’s going undercover in Scientology when s/he claims that the information is easy to obtain. Hence I asked for OT3, which is not easy to obtain (well it is, it’s on wikileaks but scientology claims those are fakes).
My point remains, information about scientology practices FROM scientology are not in fact easy to obtain. If it was, Terryeo would be able to produce a legit copy of OT3.
So my comment stands. Terryeo, if information on Scientology practices is easy to obtain, produce OT3 or shut the fuck up.
