GlossLip, Celebrity Gossip From Our Lips To Yours

Brilliant Video Captures Spirit Of Anonymous’ Protests: The Road To Reconnect

RECONNECT: Road To April 12, 2008 from Pelvidar on Vimeo.

Pelvidar, the individual who created the above video does amazing work. This brought many tears to my eyes, not only because of the sadness which runs deep in those whose lives have been damaged by Scientology, but because I have watched this movement from the beginning.

There have been those in my life whom I respect and care about tell me this was not worth pursuing and I have lost my way and become obsessed. Perhaps they are right, but then again, as Mark Bunker says at the end of the video, when you see something is wrong, you should stand up and do something about it.

Should I have used Glosslip as a soapbox for exposing a group which forces families apart, physically abuses its members and flaunts its celebrity roster in an overt effort to recruit members? Maybe not. But it’s the only tool I have and as long as my family stands firmly behind me in my continued coverage of this story, that’s all the encouragement and affirmation I need.

How often in life do you have an opportunity to help save people’s lives simply by using pixelated words strung together in sentences? It’s the least I can do. I only wish I could do more.

  1. Dawn, I think I speak for a LOT of people when I say… that you’ve done more in the past three months than most major media outlets have done in a year bringing these horrible atrocities to light.

    Thank you.

  5. Hahaha - I know what you mean about others rolling eyes and not “getting” the concern over Scientology. Thankfully, despite the criticisms, there are many, many other very positive responses to the involvement as well.

And add this to your pile of “thank you’s” and “appreciations!”:

Thanks for sharing the video here Dawn - you have helped make a lot of information more available to the public!

  9. There’s some software that will get rid of those pixelated words … but you’re doing fine without it!

What’s funny is, when I interviewed you in DC at the April raid, I wrote “donaldson” on the back of the tape. I didn’t know your name was “Dawn Olsen.” Now I do and so do millions of others.

  11. Keep up the good work Dawn. You have helped to make me aware of what a sick, and twisted cult Scientology truly is. Doing the right thing is sometimes harder than doing nothing at all. I am aware of all the hard work and research you have put into your cause, and I applaud you for not backing down.

  15. I give up.

Scientology is winning, Tom cruise is normal. The critics are ineffective.

  17. Members of OSA, have you been on the Freewinds? Have you gotten yourself checked for signs of mesothelioma?

Before you swarm the blogs to polish the sacred knob of Tom Cruise, ask yourself why you are doing that. Ask yourself why you have been lied to about the blue asbestos. Ask yourself why a wog/”sp” tried to warn you of the dangers of blue asbestos. Ask yourself if that seems to be an act of an “Evil” person.

  19. How sad that we live in a world that when good, caring and honest people are ridiculed for speaking the truth. Groups like the CoS are able to succeed and get away with their abusive practices because people don’t wnt to get involve or feel it’s a bother. That is until someday the person who is harmed or abused or defrauded is one of your own or maybe even you. The one wonders why did no one warm me of this, where were those whose responsibility it is to protect the public from evial doers wether they be cults, law breakers or embezelers or defrauders. Thank the higher powers that there are people who do care. These are your pioneers, your freedom fighters, your civil rights advocates, your guardians of truth and justice. Dawn you are a true and caring person and do not change what you are for it will diminish your light, your soul, your spirit.
Why do we care? Because we must or else we make victims of us all.

  21. In my opinion, Dawn is a hero. She reports while main stream media sits and spins on their thumbs about this cult which has no qualms in attempting to subvert govenrments (no kidding!)

  25. Well, Dawn, I can’t speak for anyone else, but your incredible fearless coverage of the CoS is what has put this site in the “must check each day” basket for me :)

I think you’re doing something wonderful, putting all the latest developments into such an accessible format for everyone. Some of the anti-CoS websites, while all wonderful, can be a little overwhelming, and this place is the perfect remedy for that.

    You’re a hero in my eyes :)

  27. I found your site through your reporting on Scientology, and along with many people around the world who’ve come to care about this vital issue, I am grateful for your courage and persistence in reporting on this issue.

People like you, who are willing to take a stand when they see something as dangerous and destructive as the CoS, are vitally needed.

So thank you, and keep up the good work - you’ll hear no complaints from me! :)
