May 10th Marks Fourth Global Anonymous Protest Against Abusive Scientology “Religion”

This Saturday will be the fourth global protest in a series of monthly protests staged and organized by the internet activist group called Anonymous.

From the beginning of this movement in January, I was intrigued and compelled to follow up on what has become an integral part of Glosslip. I spoke at a conference today on blogging and while I was there representing Blogcritics.org, many people seemed interested in the investigative and celebrity stories we do here on this site. Truly, the two subjects work well together simply because Scientology uses celebrities to provide a glamorous face to their corrupt organization and Hollywood is a tremendous component to our popular culture. We worship at the altar of Celebrities, and their causes (or fake religions) are part of mainstream America. Glosslip seeks to expose and confront false worship.

Like Anonymous, I have found myself drawn into a noble effort to expose the outrageous, cruel and pervasive abuses throughout Scientology. For too long, our apathy as a country has allowed this open sore on humanity to fester. Anonymous, like any activist movement before it, has created a cohesive and like-minded mass in which together these individuals are able to execute change in their world.

Understanding the corruption of Scientology is not easy. It is complicated, time-consuming and mind-boggling. Just when you think it can’t get any worse than brainwashing, illegal silencing of critics and perversion of our tax system, you discover forced abortions, labor law violations (including child labor), physical abuse of members and the mysterious deaths of those who’ve sought refuge in Scientology.

Every single day, EVERY DAY, I get emails from former members who are finally speaking out, or from those who’ve lost loved ones to the cult, or those who’ve lost years of their lives working towards what they thought was a noble effort to help mankind, only to find they’d been deeply misled and taken advantage of.

If you think the world’s problems are too big for one person to do anything about, then let Anonymous be your inspiration. Join the movement, save a life, stand up for a cause, stop the abuse. See Enturbulation.org for ways you can help show your fellow citizen you care.

  3. Dawn, usually I’d put out a huge tl;dr post for everyone to skim over quickly, but you seem to have everything in hand here. I’ll come back if OSA decides to show up, but as for everything else, you are doing excellently, as always.

  17. Hey Michael, I hear your fantastic “religion” has an all expense paid cruise for you on the Freewinds. Why don’t you pack your belongings and board the ship as soon as you can. Bon Voyage!!!

  19. You know, it’s not that hard to pick out an OSA drone mikey. All we have to do is look for something that sounds like it was taken out of the 1950’s and looks like old Joe McCarthy would be immensely proud of it.

“Rubbish”? Did you mean to say bullshit there? Maybe once your balls have dropped, you’ll find the big boy in you that’s not afraid to say bullshit. While I’m on the subject, let’s talk about your punctuation. Did you mean to put one of these —>’<— at the beginning of your second true sentence when you were spewing forth your bile about how “Its the coolest thing to be involved with ever”?

How about that third one that needs a capital “M” in “most of the poor sorry Anon drones have no idea about anything that really matters in life”. Do you need a refresher course in primary school techniques, mikey?

And as for anything that “really matters”, I’m assuming you’re talking about what the Cult of $cientology is telling you. You mean stuff like tone scales, body theatans (or BTs), KSW, LRH tech etc? What about Incident II? I mean, I know about that. Do you? Do you know about Xenu, the alien ruler that threw your alien buddies into a volcano with an atom bomb chaser, then reformulated their thought patterns with Three-Dee images of other “false” religions, implanted them in you, me, etc.; Didn’t you get that memo?

You know, I think I know why nobody over OT III is coming out to get Arnie’s cash and prove they have those powers; they’re too busy taking down people posting on the interwebz. Way to go, OTs! That’ll show them and what not. I’m sure that just because there’s only 8K or so anonymous showing up to the protests, that’s the exact number of how many people they really have.

Of course, if you assume that to be true, then chances are just as likely that the Cult of $cientology has, ooh, maybe (and that’s a STRONG maybe) 500K members? Remember, that’s being generous, and that’s talking about the number BEFORE Anonymous showed up. Now you’ll be lucky to have 500 by the time we’re done taking down your DANGEROUS CULT.

    Later, OSA.

  21. A few small things here.

First off, Dawn you are doing a great job.

    Second, Michael:

    A) If you have been in Scientology most of your life, then your own post is proof that the tech and education techniques are flawed as your grasp of grammatical English is pretty poor.

    B) If Scientology were true, and they were really a Religion, they would accept the fact, that like most religions, they will have detractors. Think about it. Anyone who speaks out against this “Church” is a terrorist, or a biggot, or a criminal. If that were truely the case, then Scientology can give up their goal to “Clear the Planet” now as it will never work.

I have hidden in the shadows for a while. I have lurked in fear of the Church of Scientology and their fair game policy, and while I will still not share my last name, I will now gladly come out and state, that I am opposed to this *CULT* and what it is doing to its members. I applaud those who have left the Church, including Mike Rinder, whom, although he hasn’t spoken out, could likely bring the Church to its knees if he decided to do so.

All of this is of course, food for thought.

  23. I think one of the next actions anonymous should take is to inform every Christian church in America, as well as EVERY religious organization in America, that they pay higher taxes because….well, they’re not scientologists.

  25. Thanks for the plug Dawn, and your help in all regards. It is the non mainstream media that is starting to set the agenda for the mainstream media, and blogs such as yours are one of the reasons we are starting to get some very nice mainstreme coverage.

Also, I don’t think michael is really OSA. Sounded like a kinda lame attempt at satire. OSA would have a better post, although still lame.

  27. I would like everyone to be a little less hard on ‘michael’ poster number 8. He’ll soon be sent to the RPF for overdoing the enthusiasm on his given job of posting. His boss is suspicious, as I am, that this post is actually an unconscious cry for help. It also appears to be a smoke screen to hide his too-close-a-look at websites such as Operation Clambake and xenu.tv. He’s a curious animal like the rest of us but the lead attached to his collar is choking him.
He doesn’t need insults, he just needs his own privacy and then someone to listen to him once he’s out. We’ll look after you ‘michael’, don’t worry, nobody will be allowed to hurt you, not even Miscavige.

  29. No need for me to get over-verbose Dawn. You’re representing the cause all too well. It’s just a damned shame we couldn’t get you to pay our Bay Area Mayten gig a visit. Maybe someday?

    Think about it!

    Much love.

  31. Thats ok, let “Michael” spew its cult crap. It’s only a matter of time before we manage to get enough in the media to where the Co$ loses it’s religious tax exemption and then we out the cults leadership.

Bye bye cult of scientology, your days are numbered.

    Once again Scientology rocks!
