Please Contribute Your Creative Efforts In Honor Of Those Abused

A couple weeks ago I tried an experiment, it was a huge failure, and I am that much wiser for it. But not wanting to entirely ban the idea, I am opening Glosslip up for Saturday as a reader-generated content day in honor of the May 10 global protest from Anonymous. I know lots of people will be protesting, but some of us can’t, but we can still contribute in our own way.

It is open to anyone and can include photoshops, videos, poems, haikus, short stories or on-site news reports from in the field.

Essentially if it’s tasteful (not pornographic, hostile, violent or abusive) and could be considered a tolerant form of protesting, informing or sharing, we’d like to host it.

  3. Allow me to be the first to say “lolwut” to this. In theory, it sounds like a good idea; in practice… you could have a lot of crazy people going batshit insane on your site in real time. If you’re going to personally regulate the content and decide what’s going to get shown, this could work. If it’s going to be a free infodump… Yeah.

I mean no disrespect to you, Dawn. I just want you to know that Anonymous sometimes goes into serious INTERNET HAET MACHINE mode and takes down whatever it can. Most of the ones that would do that probably aren’t with Chanology, but are probably other forms of the Real Anonymous. By this I of course mean the hackers, the slaughters of other’s connections, what have you. Just letting you know, they might go out of their way to get some potentially epic lulz out of this. Watch yourself.

  5. k here…

I don’t think there is a way to upload stuff to the site if it isn’t done by either Dawn or myself. I’m guessing that she wants submissions emailed to her, and she’ll then decide and/or post them.

It’ll probably be all Dawn, since I’ll be gone most of the day Saturday. Oh yeah, and coz she rawks. :)
