I did do my research...read the article. And I'll say anything I please about anyone I want. If you want to disagree with my opinions, that's fine and you're entirely within your rights to do so.

But I stand by what I said...this trip was a waste of good, hard-earned money. Let them live hand to mouth for a while, or have them make the decision to either eat or pay for their lifesaving medications, and they'll soon find out what's important enough to spend money on.

And had they spent that much on one shirt, purse, or pair of shoes, I'd call them out just as fast, as I have done to many, many celebs right here on this site. No, I'm not jealous, nor am I against people enjoying themselves...I've just been around long enough to recognize wastefulness when I see it.

And another thing...if they are going to talk to a newspaper about what happened, which then puts that interview (and video) on the internets for anyone in the world to see, then neither they nor you should get worked up when people form opinions and then express those opinions. Had they kept their mouths shut about it, NOBODY WOULD HAVE KNOWN...and this article would never have been written. See how it works?

It's pretty much all I have to say about it. You have your opinion, I have mine. Have a nice day.

It is not for you to judge what is and isn't wasteful...it was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience to go and see a movie premiere. Secondly the price for four of them was barely over a grand...
Also if you would have done your research you would have noticed that yes everyone realized the tickets said first come first serve but that wasn't why 2000 people didn't get in. It was because New Line Cinema royally screwed up, which they admitted.
Most importantly if people work hard for their money, give back to their communities, and still have some left over to attend an exciting event once in a blue moon....good for them. It is really unfortunate you take the time to judge other peoples decisions. It is fine if you choose to live your life the way you want, but maybe for a change let other people do the same without writing brutal comments about them. Some people go and spend that much on a purse, or one shirt, and here you are attacking people who spent that money on an event they could attend together...maybe focus your attention on people who actually are wasteful

How many thousands of dollars does it take to watch a movie?

Seriously, the movie will be coming to a theatre near them in the very near future. To go to NYC and spend even half the amount stated (and let's face it, all we have is your word that it wasn't that much) just to watch a movie premiere is...well, pretty wasteful, especially in this day and age.

Even if they spent half that amount, $8000, that's still pretty extravagant just to see a movie.

And the tickets DID say, "First come first served." Once they filled their allotted seats, that was it, and it stated so on the tickets. They'd have been better off to wait for the movie to come to them and spent $10 on a movie ticket. It's called being wasteful and a bad steward of hard-earned money. Some day, they'll wish they had that money back, probably when gas is $10 a gallon and nobody can afford to eat.

Seriously, where do people get the sort of job that they can drop this sort of dough just to jet off to NYC and see a movie? Or did they put it all on credit cards that they'll be paying off for the next ten years? Do you not see how wasteful all this is?

By the way this story was about my best friend, and YES it was completely fabricated. They spent a good amount of money to go to the premiere but no where near 16,000. Secondly both are smart girls with university degrees, who both volunteer for many charities. The news made them look stupid, and greedy, plain and simple. The story is this, 2,000 people got screwed over and shouldn't have. Those of you who made nasty comments should get a life, just because there is a lot of negative in the world right now doesn't mean two girls don't have the right to spend a little more money to attend a premier of a show they enjoy.

It is not made up. Follow the link in my story and you'll get to the NY Daily News, which had a video interview with the girls (I tried to embed it here but the formatting was wonky).

Virginia, British Columbia??? Never heard of it. If does exist, I can't imagine 2 girls spending $16,000 on tickets to the premiere in NYC. You sure this story wasn't made up?

However you feel about SATC, is not the point. These people (who are the fans by the way) spent their hard earned money on this 'event' and then got screwed. Now, I live in NYC and could give a crap myself about this show, but I have nothing but sympathy for these poor people who shelled out good coin only to be ripped off. Period. This is wrong and your attitude is appalling.

Wow, you bitter much? Trust me, I don't condone spending $16K on a trip for a silly movie either. But, it's just a movie, I don't think it's worth a trip and whatnots, but also not bitter about it. Have a cookie!
