Amy Winehouse, Or Homeless Person?

Seriously.  I didn’t think that was Amy until I read the article.

On the heels of a disastrous performance in Portugal, where she showed up an hour late for her set and stumbled and slurred her way through her songs, Amy Winehouse turned up at her husband’s hearing to offer support:

The troubled star sat in the front row of the public gallery as Snaresbrook Crown Court, east London, and smiled lovingly at Blake Fielder-Civil, who smiled back at her from the dock. [...]

When the judge, David Radford, was giving his ruling on a point of legal argument, she looked at her husband and inclined her head questioningly towards the judge.

She was led into court by an usher, and sat alone in the front row of the gallery, twice moving to different seats. [...]

Winehouse left the court after 80 minutes, with legal arguments still continuing.

Outside the court, she was asked: “How’s Blake looking?” She replied: “As gorgeous as f ***. You seen him before?”

Uh, yeah, we’ve seen him.  Not sure that the description applies, but whatever teases your beehive.

Not only did Amy show up with skin that would make a perfect “before” example for a skin cream, but onstage in Portugal she showed off what the UK press calls a “love bite” (read: hickey) on her neck, under her chin.  I can’t tell but I assume it was still there when she went to the hearing, since they don’t go away that fast (especially one that size).  Now that, right there, spells class and sophistication.  Wonder if she’ll be able to pass it off as a curling iron burn?  She looked well turned-out earlier in the day, she must have cried or sweated some of her makeup off.

Here’s the deal…Amy is on her way down.  She’s taking her talents and smoking them away.  Her record company (read: pimp daddies) will squeeze every last bit of money they can out of her, and then they’ll drop her so fast she won’t know what happened.  It’s happened before with bigger stars than Amy, and if she thinks it won’t happen to her then she’s more deluded than we think.

Between the hickey, the scabby skin, the cut-up arms, the zoned-out performances, and the dirty fingertips…does she think we’re that stupid?  The drugs are only making her fool herself, the rest of us (who aren’t busy loving her to death) can see what is going on.

She can still pull herself away from the abyss, I think she can do it, but she’s got to want to do it for herself and nobody else and for no other reason than she wants to be clean.  Plus, the scabby skin worries me…I’m sure it has to do with the drugs she continues to pump into her body, but people with cutting problems often will pick at existing sores until they become worse than they started out.  I sincerely hope she can get it together and go away to rehab for a long time…but it’ll take a miracle at this point.  I’m not here to make fun of her, I want her to get help.  She needs it.

  1. Oh, my God. If you showed me that top pic and told me that the person was 24 years old, I’d tell you you were either crazy or full of shit or both.

Please, let this woman get help NOW. Right fucking now.

  3. I get tired of all these reports on Amy Winehouse. Instead of making fun of her or mocking her, why don’t you encourage her “people” to get serious with her. Everyone who is with her in her bubble surely is there for only money. No one seems to want to help her. If she’s dead soon from her drug use, then what are all of you going to do then? The money will be gone with Amy. People ridicule her daily. It’s too much for a 24 yr. old to handle. She’s not old enough or smart enough to handle her own life. She needs more than rehab. She has got to find a way to get herself together and her band and family needs to find that way somehow. Surely there’s a person in her life that she will listen to and believe. Find that person please!!! Amy, you need help and you know you do. Caring people will support you, all the others don’t count. They are mean, horrible people who feed off your success then throw it in your face what a screw up you are. This is not right!!

  5. P.S. We know all you Brits thrive on b.o., but please, it’s almost summer, you need a long bath Amy, you need to shampoo your hair, even your extensions and you need a manicure and probably a pedicure. Your nails are nasty, sweetie. Do you realize you can afford a full time cosmetologist to help you? Do you realize you can afford a maid or a butler? You need organization in your life so you won’t be late all the time. If you had a maid or a butler, they could draw you a bath every day and your cosmetologist could give you a manicure/pedicure when needed and style your hair. Your cosmetologist could also probably help you get your skin back in order and help you with your makeup. Your mom says she holds your purse strings so have her get you someone who can help you with “image control”.

  7. #2: Did you even READ the article??? Or did you just type the first thing that came to your head when you saw the title? Do you even know what the article is about? Or are you too busy loving her to death? Some people amaze me.

Try not to throw out your knee jerking it so hard.

  9. She looks no different than the meth addicts we see on billboards “before” and “after”. It’s just very sad, to have such a talent and throw it all away, along with quite possibly her life.

  11. Her record company has already dropped her. They recognize that she is incapable of producing work so they have completely ceased investing in her, her new album, etc.

I don’t know that you can blame the record companies in the case of lovely Amy, really. Her greatest hit was inspired by her telling off the record company executives who were trying to get her to go to rehab YEARS ago, before she was on anyone’s radar screen.

  13. This is so sad…doesn’t anyone close to her love her enough to do something, anything? Her skin is peeling off her face for godsake! What are they waiting for? If she was my friend I would get in her face and stay in it…at this point there is no waiting for the right time and being delicate about it. What is it that is keeping her from wanting to live in this world (meaning, not staying out of reality with drugs). Looks like she won’t b around much longer.

  15. #7: You and thousands of others raised that very question. Just visit Amy Winehouse’s ‘official website’, even some of those psycho fans of hers are getting sick and tired of the trainwreck to nowhere. Those poor souls actually believe, that Amy was just sick with the flu and that’s why she was hoarse and stumbling around. Also, to the Wino Koo-laid drinkers, the Lisbon show was THE BEST SHOW EVAH!!!!1!!1111!!!

  21. Drugs brought on pig-pen filth, back January-February-March 2008. These scars are from the syaph infection that she contracted, before and during the Fendi event. Antibiotics saved her life — better than what happened to Jim Henson back in 1990. Maybe… she got the start of surgical treatment Tuesday of this week when she took off a day from going to Court. The critical damage to this woman was a poisoning in August 2007. She stopped breathing and the EMTs started gastric irrigation immediately, removing enough Ketamine to kill 20 people. I use the word “poisoning” with full intent; her money would have gone to this Blake monster, for whom “Wino” is quite the fool. Her best hope is Israel, where every life is indeed a whole world. The Brits, apparently, forget what it means, to care for “the least of these,” as from the Gospel of Mathew. Her deficits are written off to drug abuse, not treated… ever.
