Church Of Scientology Still Using Its ‘Fair Game’ Policy To Silence Critics
Guest poster Robert Korczak wrote a wonderful article about Scientology’s heinous “Fair Game” policy in modern times. The CoS has claimed to have abandoned the policy of silencing its critics at any cost long ago, but with internet activist group Anonymous continuing its protest and pressure, the proof this policy still exists is evident. All the more chilling, the subject of the “Fair Game” is the authors own father:
Is the Church of Scientology’s Fair Game policy still alive and well?
Scientologies “Fair Game†policy was a controversial hot button topic since it’s inception in 1965, by church founder Lafayette Ronald Hubbard better known as L. Ron Hubbard.
The policy stated that “A Suppressive Person or Group becomes fair game. By FAIR GAME is meant, may not be further protected by the codes and disciplines or the rights of a Scientologist.â€
Later that same year L. Ron Hubbard amended the policy by adding that:
“The homes, property, places and abodes of persons who have been active in attempting to: suppress Scientology or Scientologists are all beyond any protection of Scientology Ethics, unless absolved by later Ethics or an amnesty … this Policy Letter extends to suppressive non-Scientology wives and husbands and parents, or other family members or hostile groups or even close friends.â€
In 1967 Hubbard further amended this policy where he defined the “penalties” for an individual deemed to be in a “Condition of Enemy”:
“ENEMY — SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.â€
Ask an active Scientologist about “Fair Game Policy†today and they will quickly tell you that this policy was cancelled by Hubbard himself in fact cancelled any such order and that it is no longer in practice today.
Is this true? Well, to answer that question we need only look at more of Hubbard’s writings dating back to October of 1968 when Hubbard amended the policy again:
“The practice of declaring people FAIR GAME will cease. FAIR GAME may not appear on any Ethics Order. It causes bad public relations. This P/L does not cancel any policy on the treatment or handling of an SP.”
The only conclusion that can be drawn from this is exemplified in the very last sentence of the above quote; “This P/L (Policy Letter) does not cancel any policy on the treatment or handling of an SP (Suppressive Person).â€
Ever since these policies were written critics of the Church of Scientology have been using Hubbard’s own words as ammunition against the Church.
But this policy of “Fair Game†was written in the late 1960’s and certainly couldn’t be a church policy in the year 2008? Or could it?
In May of 2008, the internet group known as “Anonymous†held their fifth global protest against the Church of Scientology and they named this protest “Operation Fair Game: Stopâ€â€¦
What made this protest different from the others was that “Anonymous†had gained a new ally in their war with Scientology, this new ally just happened to be a former C.I.A Operative and decorated veteran of the cold war, Boris Korczak.
Mr. Korczak, a Polish-Lithuanian refugee worked for the C.I.A in the 1970’s until he was exposed under mysterious circumstances in 1979. Causing him to flee to the United States where he was promptly shot by an assassin; Korczak survived the shooting.
Initially, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa took up Korczak’s case and went on the record on numerous talk shows imploring the U.S. Government to pay Boris the money that was owed to him for his time in the C.I.A and services to the United States of America .
Fearing that there might be another attempt to finish him off, Korczak went on the News and Talk-Show circuit in the 1980’s, believing that if he were a public figure that nobody would be foolish enough to try to repeat any attempts on his life.
On April 20, 2008 Boris posted a video which detailed some of his work in the C.I.A but primarily focused on his Scientologist Case Officer who was desperate to recruit him into Scientology.
Ironically enough, or maybe not so ironically, Korczak’s case officer was attempting to recruit Korczak during the same period of time that the Church of Scientology was being prosecuted for “Operation Snow Whiteâ€, which was the largest infiltration of the U.S. Government to date.
Is it just coincidence that Korczak’s case officer just happened to be a Scientologist, in a very high position of power, at the same time that Scientology was infiltrating the Government in an attempt to destroy “negative†paperwork about the Church?
Nevertheless, the video got a lot of attention from “Anonymous†and due to their questions and kind comments, Korczak released a another video a few days later where he stated he would be attending the May 10 protest alongside members of “Anonymousâ€.
Here is where the story gets a little murky for the Church of Scientology , which continues to claim that the “Fair Game†policy has long since been out of existence and is not something that was practiced by Scientology anymore.
However, it doesn’t appear to be as cut and dry as the Church would have use believe because just a few short days after the protest, Korczak discovered, through internal sources within the Church of Scientology, that The Church of Scientology had hired Harold Gossett, an ex FBI agent now running a P.I. firm) had been hired to “spy†on him.
Korczak telephoned Karin Pouw, Director of Public Affairs for Church of Scientology International , and informed her that Harold Gossett had been exposed and to add insult to injury Boris thanked Karin Pouw for her attention and wished her a great day.
That would be enough to make one suspicious that “Fair Game†was still very much alive and kicking but some strange things started to occur.
Ms. Barbara Schwartz, of Scientology fame, started a smear campaign against Korczak where she stated the following:
“What if the German secret service radioed secretly in the CIA to one of the CIA infiltrators to hire Boris Korczak to “infiltrate” the KGB? What if Boris Korczak never had true American intentions? What if he never provided the CIA with correct data? “
The KGB did not go seriously after Boris? Why not? He still is alive. Because he was still one of them all the time he “worked” for the KGB? Of even more superior, because the KGB know that a German secret service run Boris? “
Korczak took a humorous approach to this slander and responded with a mock confession on his MySpace account, where he stated:
“After appearance of this marvelous piece on the Internet, I felt so ashamed that the tears started streaming from my eyes running down my cheeks, creating a large pool on my marble floor.
Yes. I always worked for the German Psychiatrists to destroy Scientology, L Ron Hubbard and the USA.
One day in late September while living in Sasel, near Hamburg a large crowd of German psychiatrist appeared in front of my humble home.
I could see they were not doing well; Their Mercedes cars were not newly polished, and only a few wore silk suits and golden watches.
They went on their knees right in front of my door, kneeling right into the mud pools and the elder psychiatrist stepped forward still on his knees and begged me to listen to their request.
This poor man was a distant cousin of a great leader who had to shoot himself in his bunker and I could see a yearning for a lost power in his milky-blue eyes.
Incidentally, his name was Schickelgruber and he practiced false profession called psychiatry for years.
In the name of all the starving psychiatrists gathered there, he begged me to fight for this failed profession and save the starving psychiatrists. He told me that Scientology like a tornado swept the mentally ill of their feet, bringing them to the door of the org, and I was a chosen one to fight against Scientology, Dianetics, L. Ron Hubbard and destroy Amerika.
I have never heard about Amerika and I thought it must be a region in Bavaria.
What could I do? I hugged this poor man and I accepted their offer of $100 and free psychiatrist treatment for one billion years.
Now I feel like Judas before he hung himself.
The psychiatrist crowd sung for me an ancient psychiatrist song in unison and crawled into their Mercedes, Porches and a few Rolls Royce vehicles and the very next day I joined the CIA to do my duties.
Now I am ashamed of my actions and I know I should have listened to my Chief of Station – Ed who preached to me Scientology and even gave me a copy of Dianetics.

Although as rambling and incoherent Barbara Schwartz’s postings on Google Groups were, there were more smear attempts in other parts of the internet.
Operation Clambake Message Board, an anti Scientology forum, had two “Critics†posting Boris’ alleged private information as well as that of his family. The information was most specifically about Boris and his daughter, who apparently has never heard of Scientology or Anonymous.
The information was posted in such an ugly fashion that the moderators removed the offending posts and shortly thereafter Boris’ son Rob Korczak responded to some of the criticisms about his father.
So the saga will continue, Boris plans on being at the June 14 protest in Washington D.C. and he will certainly bring his own brand of humor and wisdom along with him.
I can’t imagine what type of non-existent “Fair Game†tactics the Church of Scientology will throw at Boris; but seeing how he’s handled it so far I am not so much worried what will Scientology do to Boris but rather what is Boris going to do to Scientology. On his MySpace blog, Boris mentions something called “Operation CASCADE†but there is no further information to report on this as Korczak knows how to play the spy game and can be very enigmatic at times.
There’s an old saying that states, “Once a spy, always a spy†and this begs the question, does Scientology really want to go to war with Boris Korczak for using his Constitutional right of free speech?
As for the “Fair Game†policy, this reporter can draw no other conclusion except that it is alive and well in 2008.

The article was written by his son Boris. And you still can’t write “scientology”. Aside from that his “crown witness” Barbara Schwarz is not a scientologist since she has been thrown out decades ago - and, you guessed it, - “Fair Game” a) was never valid for non-Scientologists and b)has been canceled in 1968.

You know the anti-abortion crowd became accepted because they became pro-life.
Maybe Chanology Anonymous should be Pro-Truth and not Anti-Scientology. I’d certainly like them more, especially having just found out about them.
I want to support them but “anti-Scientology board” means it’s against more than just their practices. Which is something I’ve found while reading through them. It’s against everything, and they deserve to do whatever legal things they want.

The fact that Scientology hired Harold Gossett to spy on my dad, Boris Korczak, makes it clear that Scientology is not changing it’s stripes and is going after critics with methods that are exactly like the description of the Fair Game policy.

If the world were run by Scientologists their ‘ethics handlings’ would make the Inquisition look like a day at Six Flags. And I find it very disingenuous of them to have one person using these phony accounts to spam web sites like this one to make it look like there are a lot of them.

2. It really is all about their practices. If they change their ways Anon will not trouble them. This, as pointed out through this article and so many more, is not what the Co$ is doing. They are keeping their ways which are what a normal moral human would see as wrong, and in many cases illegal. We are citizens of the world, we are people witnessing crimes and doing something about it. That is who I are to judge.
How can Co$ really fairgame so many people. And then when those people ask, “why am I being fairgamed”, they just respond, “No you arent”, or more often responded with nothing at all.
Notice I keep saying Co$. That is what I fight, not the belief Scientology. If Scientology wants to be a religion yay for them. But it is need of reform, much like a few people thought about 500 years ago about another religion. The reform must happen, for its own members, and for the longevity of the faith itself.

Fair game refers to all pratices of smearing and dead agenting against anyone who is considered a menace to the church of scientology, and it was used many times against people who were never scientologists, remember Paulette Cooper and Operation: Freakout, remember the ex-mayor of Clearwater and Operation: Normandy, remember Gregg Housh, remember Mudkips. And it was clearly not canceled at all, even the text supposed to confirm such outlandish thing only cancels the pratice of “declaring someone fair game” and only as a PR stunt.

Thank you for the very intriguing post. Barbara Schwartz has always been an ineffective pseudonym and ruse for the organized scientology movement against critics. Would you mind editing your post further to post links to the actual sources for the information you used in the post? Links to the threads that haven’t been deleted, anyway.
It would also help to make it more clear at the beginning that the entire post is of your writing. This gets awkward at times where in the body you refer to yourself in the third person. Thanks for your contribution.

Now while this is all true. It’s really simple if you don’t want to be targeted by the church? If you don’t want to be Fair Game, just shut your mouth and ignore all the human rights violations, and treasonous crimes against citizens and Governments around the world.

Fair Game article seems like a good place to let everyone known that I was punched and assaulted during a peaceful Anonymous protest at the Seattle Scientology Org.
Fair-Game is alive and well folks. Just thought everyone would be interested to know how crazy and desperate the Orgs are now that their gross-income is waaaay down, fresh-meat is not coming to The Orgs and the general public doesn’t want to be recruited into the creepy cult.

Just Google Boris Korczak in Groups and the post she made is titled “I personally don’t believe that Boris Korczak ever was truly on America’s side”.
I fully believe that Barbara Schwartz is doing anything and everything to get back into good standing with the Co$. So, she went back to her roots and attempted to “Fair Game” my dad.
Barbara Schwartz is small potatoes though; consider the slander that was posted on OCMB along with the fact that Scientology hired Harold Gossett for P.I. services to spy on my dad. Thanks to a certain Scientologist’s tip, Harry was found out and publicly exposed.

Lou you might be interested in knowing that David Miscavige is altering Scientology doctrine. That is called squirreling. That is a high crime in Scientology. It goes against KSW. However Fair Game seems to be one of the few policies he’s kept intact.

Why is it so easy to find so many horrible truths about the cult of $cientology? Why is it so hard to find good things about this dangerous cult? Please research the cult on the internet, even a minute’s worth of time will reveal something that will pique your interest.
Anonymous has done nothing but brought to light the dark and hidden aspects the cult never wants the public to see. Everything about Anonymous is available to the public (except for the identities of the “members”, of course), yet the cult of $cientology tries painstakingly hard to keep itself hidden. Why? Find out for yourself. Like I said, only a minute’s worth of research will help you to discover why so many men, women, teenagers, doctors, police officers, grocers, office workers, mothers, fathers, and so many more are protesting $cientology.

That did not stop the Church of Scientology from attempting to frame journalist Paulette Cooper (never a Scientologist) for bomb threats that never occurred, with the intention of putting her in a mental institution or a jail. And yes, that was after 1968.
It did not stop the Church of Scientology from attempting to frame Clearwater mayor Gabe Cazares for a “hit-and-run” accident that never occurred with the intention of ruining his political career. And yes, that was after 1968.
Even if it were actually true that Fair Game was cancelled in 1968, something that everyone who actually read the article knows is not true, all it would mean is that the Church of Scientology is calling its doctrines under which “enemies” may be lied to, sued, tricked or destroyed, whether they are Scientologists, ex-Scientologists, or simply in the way, by a different name. Do all the IQ points that you supposedly gained through Scientology auditing allow you to figure out the answer to the question “does it matter?”

It’s funny how the first commenter talks about how Barbara Schwartz is not a Scientologist because she was kicked out 30 years ago.
Scientologists count everyone who has ever taken a course as a Scientologist. There could be an exception to Barbara Schwartz and Charles Manson (heh, those 2 in the same sentence!). But Co$ is so desperate for new members, that I’m sure they count them as members.

From the dialogs exchange, responses by the trolls, arguments by Anons and former Co$ members you can easily see that so called “church” is falling apart.
It was structured on a mad man dreams of dominating the world, just liek Adolf. LRH spent quite some time in a psychiatric ward in St Elusabeth Hospital in Washington D.C. and was diagnosed with severe mental problems. He developed a rabid hate towards psychiatry because they were right and he was WRONG. His mental state was transfered to a feeble minded weak individuals who seeked shelter from their fears and tranquility from thoughts they could not deal with. The unity of these individuals’ way of thinking once they joind the “church” gave them an illusion of being strong, superior and fearless. Their individuality was gone, their brains were erased, just like one can erase a hard drive. What was left was a blind obedience to the “BOOK” and Ronnie and Daviey. W don’t hate them, as you would not hate a family member on drugs, we try to wake them up and bring them into a real world consisting of happines, troubles, love, hate, adventure and lulz.

Something that the crime cult does since years in France is quite simple to appear as “not using Fair Game”:the crimecult fabricated and helped a number of associations behind which it’s hiding its methods.
Besides, it helps a number of other cults to attack as much as possible various critics or officials, trying to obtain a number of convictions against these critics: it’s indeed very easy to attack someone in France before courts. I’ve gotten some ten suits myself…

STrange how for a while now the detractors and trolls were quite silent on this blog. Now this story of Boris seems to have brought them up full force. Is there perhaps some worries that Boris may in fact have things which the Co$ does not want others to see or hear? Hmmmmmmm…..very interesting indeed. And to # 1 can you explain to me that if “Fair Game was nver valid for non scientologist” how is it valid for your own members then? Is it right for any religion to seek to destroy it’s own members if they disagree or leave? And for those scientologists reading this blog are you so sure that your “religion” which has such a tenant is a true path to spiritual enlightenment? Or perhaps your destruction of self and all you hold dear. Truth can be a hard pill to swallow but those ex scientologists that have seen the truth have shown to be much better individuals for having done so. As you so often tell the wog world; “Find out for yourself, read a book, read the internet, speak to those who are proteating and ask them why? You may find out that those who are protesting are only there to help you and expose the rotten core of the inner workings of the organization.

I can assure readers that Fair Game is alive and well. One also suspects Barbara Schwarz, aka Spongebarb Earplants, is indeed peripherally working for Scientology in a peripheral way. Should she step over the line, the cult will disavow all knowledge of her actions.
She has accused me of being a terrorist, a drug dealer, and a pedophile. (facepalm.jpg!) She is batshit insane, having grown up in a submarine village hidden beneath the waters of the Great Salt Lake.
Our friendly local org has accused me of vandalism and plotting to blow up their building. They even made this accusation to the police department, who sent two members of the Domestic Terrorism Unit to my door.
Needless to say, they left better informed about Scientology fair game tactics, and were not pleased that Scientology tried to use them as their personal army.
The cult has also stalked my friends and parents, left libelous fliers around my neighborhood, (spelled my name wrong, too!) and tried to set me up for some kind of op. Having been in the intelligence community in the Army, I had no idea the training would come in handy later in life. It has, and Scientology’s clumsy attempts is a source of amusement to me.
However, others are not so amused. Other victims of Fair Game are fearful and stressed out, and that is not funny. Any organization that imposes fear for family, kids, pets, livelihoods needs to be shut down.
If Scientology wants recognition as a legitimate religion, it should start acting like one, instead of setting up “interfaith summits,” front groups and other misleading bullshit.
Ron said, “What turns it on, turns it off.” Quit criticizing Scientology and we’ll leave you alone. That works both ways. Quit fucking with people’s lives and we’ll let you alone to audit the body thetans on your elbow.

The late Hubbard was exceedingly stupid chronically requiring making policies like a politician & lawmaker.
Many of the policies & so called TECH brought his religion into conflict with democratic principles.
Much of the so called TECH of the late Hubbard was a prescription for the paranoia that he suffered & which he infected on his converts.
It initially requires to subscribe to an illusion of grandeur to simultaneously become ill affected by paranoiac tendencies as most dictators & their converts can be seen in such a light.

It so amuses me when critics read a line of policy, such as, “This P/L does not cancel any policy on the treatment or handling of an SP.” and then draws an utterly, false, untrue and distasteful conclusion.
1. Fair game shall cease. — Okay, no more of that.
1A. Reason — it causes bad public relations to do fair game actions against people.
2. Continue to handle declared Suppressive Persons and Potential Trouble Sources in the same manner as always.
Conclusion? Continue as you were, but do not commit “Fair Game” type actions and do not declare anyone “Fair Game”.
It so amuses me how throughly critics misunderstand the written word. Lulz.

I’m assuming that this, too, was written by Lou (or another member of the Co$).
So, according to you, a) Fair Game was never meant for non-scientologists. In that case, any actions taken against non-scientologists would be against the tech. FAIL.
2) The Fair Game policy was cancelled in 1968. In that case, any actions taken against non-scientologists after that date should result in “discipline of the Scientologist”. Another FAIL.
So, Lou, If Fair Game was cancelled, any action against non-scientologists should have stopped, and those in the Co$ who are continuing or allowing these actions to continue should be diciplined.
All orders DO come from DM, don’t they? He should KNOW that Fair Game was cancelled, shouldn’t he? If actions are continuing, shouldn’t he stop them? Or has he lost control…

I find it odd that I rarely hear the word love mentioned in scientology so I will offer up some of my religion on it if that’s okay. I would believe this no matter what my faith or even if I was an atheist, so here goes…
