Scientology Founded On Principles Of Dark Magic, Dark Psychology
Guest Post as submitted by Marc M. Arcab, a member of Anonymous…..
L. Ron Hubbard was a genius. Not a smart genius. Just a clever one. While his competence in the maths, sciences, and even English writing was poor to abysmal, he was really good with ideas. His imagination was bar none. He could easily absorb ideas from multitudes of places, and channel them into an intricate reality. The problem is, as a poorly skilled writer, even the best of ideas will come out badly.
He worked his backside off for merely a penny a word. Even with a long novel, that would pay his bills for only a week. That meant that in order to live in any kind of comfort, he practically had to work 24/7. He even invented a suspended rolling butcher paper holder, so he could feed it into his new manual typewriter, so he didn’t have to stop to change pages. He feared the amount of work he was doing would lead him to an early grave, not that the alcohol and drugs weren’t helping. He had a history of mental illness and lying about his past, but these were useful in the world of science fiction.
However, then Robert Heinlein, an associate and fellow SF writer, told him that religions pay better. And thus Ron began writing his “masterpiece”, Dianetics. Now, in his personal life, L. Ron was a con. By conning Jack Parsons that he was really good at magic, he managed to get Parsons’ girl and his boat. But, L. Ron saw something very useful in all of the mysticism of Crowley’s version of magic..
According to an interview with L. Ron Jr., LRH Sr. was very into the occult. He claimed that the true basis of Scientology was Satanism. However, this is a misrepresentation of Crowley’s works, which merely appealed to various belief systems to extract power. Crowley did this because so many people believe in Satan, that they actually lend power to his magic. Crowley talks about the form of the magic being unimportant, as long as the belief is there. It is clear that belief is the mystical prime unit in Crowley’s form of magic.
But L. Ron didn’t learn from Crowley. They never met. He learned from Jack Parsons. And Parson’s understanding of magic was amateur at best. But L. Ron caught on quickly. He realized that even if he didn’t believe in magic himself, other people’s beliefs strengthened his power. This is the satanic root of Scientology: using the power of others’ beliefs in order to power his organization.
But it didn’t end there. L. Ron had a lot of associates that were fellow science fiction writers. The ideas of Robert Heinlein were revolutionary. Issac Asimov had some tremendous ideas. Frank Herbert had a tedious imagination that was unfathomable. He learned from his friends, associates, and even writers he wasn’t on good terms with. He studied them. Not to write Dianetics, but to further his skill at con, magic, and life. He stole any ideas he liked, and threw the rest away.
One of his good friends, Werner Erhard, was a frequenter of the Esalen seminars. This was kind of like an open think tank of the best minds of the times. Through this he was introduced to a tremendous amount of revolutionary material. Although the documentation is weak, it is very likely that this is how he learned about The Confusion Technique by Milton Erickson. Milton Erickson was one of the inspirations for the formation of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
So, now L. Ron has a head full of imagery and theory on dark magic, mostly misunderstood badly, as well as a fairly good grasp on the confusion technique, and is obsessed with learning hypnosis and chemically altered states.
Then, without doing any specific research, studies, or anything remotely scientific, L. Ron writes Dianetics as a synthesis of all of this information floating in his head, combined with his sub part writing skills and genius level imagination.
There are a few primary techniques that L. Ron uses in his Dianetics/Scientology works:
1) Confusion Technique: By using language in ways that defies normal logic, grammar, and probably associations, he can communicate an idea with great difficulty, but on purpose. This leaves the mind frazzled, and weakens any resistance to further ideas. As such, then he can make simpler statements that, although they contain logical fallacies, the sudden drop in the stress of having to understand them produces a temporary euphoria, thus creating a conscious/unconscious proof that the fallacious argument is right.
2) Word clearing: This is an insidious practice. Notice how if you say the word “banana” 300 times you will suddenly forget what a bannana is? It doesn’t even sound like a word? L. Ron uses that to anchor a word with a completely different meaning, creating an anchor between the unconscious original meaning and the conscious new meaning. L. Ron uses the word “bank” to describe a negative aspect of the unconscious mind. With enough associations, it becomes easy to clear one’s bank, ie, write checks to Scientology.
3) Stress Induced Euphoria: The purpose of the audit is to be so mentally and stressfully painful as you are trying to hide information from complete strangers as well as make sense of nonsensical questions, that, when you are done with this long and tedious process, you feel a euphoria of endorphins. This creates the illusion that the technique worked.
4) Going exterior: Going exterior is actually a real exercise. However, it is used for sinister purposes. What he is talking about is what NLP refers to as “uptime”, when you are so concentrating on the outside environment, you temporarily shut off your “internal environment” of thoughts, feelings, doubts, etc. The Yaqui Indians referred to this as Second Attention. Also, exercises performed in uptime that are contrary to the conscious mind or its “continuity” will likely be forgotten. Getting someone into this state is hypnosis nirvana. Their unconscious mind is then an open book.
Now, in the Yaqui tradition, getting to the “Second Attention” is only a first step in mastery. Much more is possible from there. However, with Hubbard’s tech, just the physical sensations of the state are used as proof that the tech works.
Every bit of L. Ron’s tech is not designed to give you what he delivered, but to give you kinesthetic proof that something is working. Let’s look at their take on drugs.
They suggest taking vitamins, especially Niacin, and doing saunas.
To the uneducated person, they can easily believe that you can sweat out toxins. The increase in blood flow after a sauna gives you a definite feeling of euphoria, because increased blood flow equals increased oxygen to the brain.
The same thing with Niacin. Niacin just opens up your capillaries. Creating an increase in blood flow. Creating an increase in oxygenation. Thus, creating a sense of euphoria.
Every single tech that L. Ron uses it to create physical “evidence” and kinesthetic data that the tech works, while selling you more and more expensive courses.
Scientology is a dangerous cult. It is dangerous to the well being and ecology of your mind, as well as to your health. Vitamins can easily be overdosed on. Too much sauna can damage dna as well as deplete your body of necessary salts.
In addition to that, it does nothing to solve the chemical inbalances of seratonin, dopamine, and other mental illness related brain chemicals.
Scientology will rob you of your money. Scientology will rob you of your sanity. Scientology can and has in the past robbed people of their lives through action, policy, and brainwashed teachings.
People stuck in this cult are victims of fraud, mental rape, and financial profiteering.
Scientology is a cult that must be stopped.

Editor’s Note: This is a great overview of how L. Ron Hubbard manufactured his money-making religious scheme. While “Marc Arcab” did a great job, I do suggest you plug in the above links and do some reading on your own. Beyond the “tech” of Scientology is a another facet which the MSM is just beginning to pick up on. Behind the friendly celeb faces of Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, John Travolta and many others, is a sinister organization which uses dangerous mind control and intimidation to destroy lives — but there’s another side to all of it this — Scientology is also full of victims who are doing the bidding of a few, and this is important to keep in mind.
For every crazed Scientologist who attacks peaceful, though determined protesters, is also another victim of LRH’s genius of the absurd. It really must be investigated.

Great post!

“And Parson’s understanding of magic was amateur at best.”
newsflash: there is no magic. Every understanding of it is “amateur”.
“While his competence in the maths, sciences, and even English writing was poor to abysmal, he was really good with ideas.”
Not really. Just look at his ideas. It’s all bad science-fiction and/or copying.
“He stole any ideas he liked, and threw the rest away.”
Everyone is doing this.

Very good breakdown of the L.Ron Hubbub scamfest, thanks for posting it. I just began reading a book about Parsons and JPL, and that whole relationship between Parsons, Crowley, and Hubbard is quite bizzare to put in mildly.
It’s weird how someone who had such mediocre talents vocationally, could be such a genius at conning people — I guess the best conman is one who is REALLY trying to find an alternative to good old fashioned hard work (the penny-a-word thing didn’t seem to deter the SciFi writers who truly had talent). And the breakdown of those techniques sure explains a lot about CoS, especially the reason why they create their own psychobabble vacabulary. Great post.

What about how people are sold heaven & hell.
They are sold how to fear the devil.
Millions subscribe to this as do they subscribe to how only one great spirit supposedly created the universe.
Is this not madness?
Are not supposed good books really bad reading.
The democratic right of people to follow whatever notions about the reason for creation including the right to believe in the theory of evolution is better than attempting to force any one notion onto people.
Scientology like all of these religious notions about the reason for creation has as much truth as do they all consist also of lies.

Moneen,
“What about how people are sold heaven & hell.
They are sold how to fear the devil.”
I was never sold these concepts. While I agree that Scientology dogma is no more far fetched than any other religion, I’ll have to disagree that their ideals are sold like Scientology’s.
“Are not supposed good books really bad reading.”
LOLWUT?! No. Good books are typically not really bad reads. I’m guessing you’re referring to the Bible here, and, as an agnostic, I’d have to disagree that the Bible is a bad read.
“The democratic right of people to follow whatever notions about the reason for creation including the right to believe in the theory of evolution is better than attempting to force any one notion onto people.”
Uhm, agreed. And, I don’t think Anonymous or Glosslip are trying to force any one creation theory on anyone nor are they denying anyone’s belief. I think you’ve missed the point, but one more time with feeling:
We are not protesting the beliefs of Scientologists, we are protesting the actions of their Church
“Scientology like all of these religious notions about the reason for creation has as much truth as do they all consist also of lies.”
That’s a fairly bold statement. You know that all creation theories contain some truth and some lies, do you? Well, that would make you all knowing, then. Where can I sign up to worship at the alter of Moneen? Because it’s apparent our creator has returned to Earth in the form of a hard nosed, “it’s cool/smart to be athiest”, troll who barely has a grasp on typing the English language. Who do I make the check out to?
I’m cranky.

The difference, moneen, is that most other religions provide comfort and behavioral guidance only. They are not designed to deliberately bait and switch and intentionally keep you mentally off-balance so that you are more susceptible to suggestion.
Hubbard was a stage magician–he created something to focus on that was so confusing it required full concentration, so that he could lift your wallet with the other hand.
Go to wikileaks, read up and listen to Hubbard relay his thoughts. Bring some aspirin for the headache you’ll get later.
The other major difference is that while other religions may disagree with science in some areas, for the most part they don’t seek to brand the scientists as criminals and demonize them. A few noted exceptions (abortion and stem cells being the main sticky issue), but on the whole biologists and astrophysicists and geologists and history teachers are allowed to work in peace.
Scientology denies all mental health science (and physiological health science in many cases) and actively seeks to destroy the practice of the former in order to usurp its place. Its policy for them, a direct order from Hubbard/Source.

Whether you believe in the occult or not, the key ingredient is belief. Your belief, the belief of others, etc. Whether magick works or not is immaterial. With enough belief, people start operating out of a different reality. There are occult experts out there, and not all of them believe in the occult. Thus, there can be those who grossly misunderstand the occult, even if you choose not to believe it has any power. What is meant is the history, origins, methods, and established paradigms.
Crowley was successful in building a large following. Their belief plus his made him powerful, even if magick is bunk.
Parsons actually thought that Crowley’s BS was real. But L Con was smarter. He knew that instilling belief and raeping belief was the key. He got Crowley, and that’s why Crowley called Parsons harmless, but L. Ron dangerous.
L. Ron got “your belief is your reality” independant of supernatural existence, and manipulated it for his means.
So either way this is an important discussion because it fully explains the depths he was willing to go to make this work.
Just FYI: During the Nuremburg trials, they buried all of the occult evidence they discovered, because they knew all of the defendants would have been able to get off on an insanity charge. They were that steeped in the occult.
Again, I’m not saying it’s real. I’m saying that even lies can be powerful if enough people believe in them.

Christianity used to be dangerous. The Crusades and the Inquisition were not minor events. But that is in the past. Today, the worst you get is a fear based consequence system that inadequately encourages you to “do the right thing”, judging from how many deacons and ministers are caught doing horrific things. That an my personal experiences that left me quite jaded as a kid.
But that’s not the issue. This is mind control. This is belief control. This is using techniques originally designed to help people in order to enslave them.
This is why Scientology is different.

YOU CANNOT LEARN THE TRUTH BY TAKING SCIENTOLOGY’S WORD. GO TO WIKILEAKS, TYPE “Category: Scientology”, AND SEE ALL OF THE DOCUMENTS THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIND OUT ABOUT. IF SCIENTOLOGY’S BELIEFS WERE AS EASY TO ACCESS AS IT IS ON WIKILEAKS, MUCH OF ANON’S EFFORTS WOULD BE MOOT.

THE CATHOLICS DON’T CHARGE $380,000 TO FIND OUT JESUS WAS THE SON OF GOD, AND FOR FULL ACCESS TO THE NEW TESTAMENT, ALL THE WAY THROUGH REVELATIONS. THEY DON’T USE THAT TO PAY LIGHT BILLS, THEY USE THAT TO BRIBE OFFICIALS AND SUE THEM INTO OBLIVION. JUST GOOGLE “SCIENTOLOGY, COURT CASE”.
So As Im Sure you can figure, I am a Scientologist. And all this talk about cult/dark magic etc. That doesnt stop the tech from helping people. Seriously, it saved my life.
THE TECH IS VERY EFFECTIVE MIND CONTROL. IT HAS SOME USES FOR GOOD. BUT THAT’S NOT THE DESIGN. WHEN L RON TECH IS APPLIED PROPERLY, YOU GET AN ARMY OF DRONES WILLLING TO SPEND MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR SELF HELP, DEEPAK CHOPRA IS CHEAPER, AND DOESN’T LIE ABOUT THE RESULTS HE PROMISES.
I Dont try to convert people, And I also dont talk down about other religions or there churches. The right to choose you own religion, and follow it undisturbed is a comodity. We Should cherish and protect it.
I AGREE UNLESS THE ORGANIZATION IS HURTING PEOPLE. SCIENTOLOGY IS ABUSING THE MIND, BODY, LIFE, AND BANK OF ITS MEMBERS. IT TREATS ANY ONE WHO CRITICIZES THEM LIKE A MEMBER OF THE NAZI PARTY, AND IS WILLING TO DEPRIVE THEM OF LIFE, LIBERTY, AND HAPPINESS. THAT’S WHY WE WEAR MASKS. NO ONE WHO HAS TANGOED WITH SCIENTOLOGY THINKS THEY’RE A HARMLESS RELIGION. THEY KNOW THEY ARE A DANGEROUS CULT.

A worthy post in the bringing down of the evil-minded, two-faced scheme known as scientology.
I’m not, however, inclined to agree that Hubbard was what you’d call a genius of the imagination. His fiction output was definitely sub-par when it comes to innovative ideas. As a writer he was and remained a hack, recycling 18th century notions of high adventure in exotic places, with little appreciation of where science was actually going. Even the eventual Xenu stuff, which he positioned to be a mind-blowing revelation to scientologists paying their way up “the Bridge” is so poor in content and execution as to appear laughable to anyone with a modicum of critical faculty (not that prospective OT’s are expected to possess any). If he was a genius of anything, it would be conmanship and self-promotion.
What Hubbard did have was the gift of the gab, a craving for fame and riches, and a character indifferent to truth or morals. He filched whatever ideas he thought could be useful in constructing his real-world fictional masterpiece, scientology. His policy letters reveal a twisted personality wholly intent on creating a fascist-type movement centered on himself (”Man’s Best Friend”) as infallible authority. As he sank deeper into sheer paranoia his policies became more and more insane. “Delusions of grandeur” doesn’t cover it - he wanted to be revered as God.
Unfortunately, most sincere scientologists are prohibited from access to the material that would tell them what they’ve gotten themselves into. Also, they are in a mindframe that will auto-reject these facts as ill-willing lies.

OSA, good job sliding down that slippery slope. Suggesting that L Ron was involved in the occult is not a conspiracy theorists wet dream. L Ron mentioned that Crowley was a good friend of his and his own son detailed his involvement in the occult including trying to bring forth the “Moon Child”. Now, it’s been said that Jr. recanted these statements but I’ve not seen anything proving that and I can hear Hubbard himself say Crowley was a friend of his.
MJ, most would agree with you, but it’s not Scientology dogma we’re into shutting down, it’s the abuses within the Church that have to stop.

Also, I believe one major difference between your typical organized religion and Scientology is that, for, say Christians, you don’t have to be a member of a Christian church to be considered Christian. While some Christians may disagree, the Bible only “requires” that you assemble and worship in God’s name. A Christian Church is not necessary for a Christian’s salvation. A Church of Scientology is necessary for a Scientologist’s salvation.
Now, go on Scienos, tell me you can check the books out of the library and have your friend audit you. Go ahead. Now, catch your breath and tell me honestly how far up the bridge you can get with library books. Can you check any of the OT levels out? OT 3? The truth is, I can get the Bible, the Quaran, the Torah, the Book of Latterday Saints, etc, for free.
And, personally, I could care less that Scientology is founded on Magick. Hell, anyone know how many Pagan rituals were absorbed by the Catholic church? Some of the more archaic Christian/Catholic rituals are no different than anything you’d find in the Satanic Bible or a Wiccan handbook. But, I think the intent behind L Ron’s incorporation of the occult into Scientology was less than venerable.
Funny thing is, he told all of you exactly what he was doing when he said: the only way to control people is to lie to them.

Evidence of Captain Adderall’s stalking is not limited to http://www.Youtube.com. The following image is from his blog captainadderall.blogspot.com/:
He wrote something unusual which he entitled SCIENTOLGY: THE RACIST MUSICAL, which pretty much fits the style of a delusional stalker:
“……my family is nowhere to be seen. There are no weapons or anything to fight her off with… so I start throwing plates and bottles of wine at her.
A plate hits her dead center in her head…. and instead of falling to her doom…
She splits into 3 black children/teenagers… who are dressed like they were plucked straight out of ‘The Cosby show’. I run down the stairs.. only to be followed by them.
And now, the stairs are a never-ending.
The 3 black people, two boys and a girl… are chasing me.
So for some reason… I yell… “Why are you Scientologists, they don’t even like black people!”
That pissed them off… apparently its illegal to say ‘Black people’

I’d like to take a moment to talk to you briefly about Scientology. I hope you can sit back, take a moment and think about what I’m saying.
When we were little, we believed that Santa and the Easter bunny were real. We believed this because our parents told us they were. We’d leave out cookies, behave for about two days before christmas and get all excited. As we got older, we found out these things weren’t real. And we found out from other people besides our parents. Friends at school is the big one for most people.
Now, I’ll admit it. I am not as knowledgeable as you in scientology. I haven’t attended any courses, but I have read all 18 scientology books.
My point here is that while you may have far more knoweldge about scientology then I do, I have the benefit of seeing both sides of the debate. That’s something no scientologist really has.
So, to go back to my previous example (I’m not calling you a child, it’s just an example), you know everything about Santa Claus. How long his beard is, what colour his boots are, when he comes to your house, his reindeer names. But I have access to the schoolyard. I know of Santa and I’ve heard he’s not real and the reasons why he’s not real (in this case, science disproving L Ron’s claims and refuting his techniques).
What I guess I’m saying is that you need to know both sides of the coin to be able to properly analyze and weigh the information you are given. How would one define what is logical if he/she had no experience with it?
Take some time and think about this.
Also, I’d like to ask you another question. Why is it that you have to tell your auditor everything, even deeply personal things, but Scientology management is allowed to have withholds? Does this not lend creedence to my arguement that they are preventing you from seeing both sides?
It’s hard to consider things like this, espicially if you have friends/family inside that you will disappoint. But take the time, sit by yourself and really give it some thought. You deserve it.

I Devoted myself fully to Scientology, At The age of 19. I Had never talked to anyone from the church, they never tried to lure, or sell me anything. I took the time, To thoroughly examine the religion, and Its core beliefs. While at the same time, doing alot of investigating into the claims that have been made against the church, (www.xenu.net is a great site to get that info) and how they operate.
And I have read all the negative Information about LRH, and Scientology (whether its true or not). I am fully aware of what Im doing, as is anyone who devotes themselves to a certain belief system.
In Short, Dont Get Involved in something as serious as a religion, If your now aware of everything thats involved.
And if your a Scientologist you have to wait for certain information, this is true. But only because there is an exact sequence to which things are learned. You wouldnt start a Book in chapter 78, you would start from the Beginning.(Which are the books I assume you mentioned reading Dianetics, Science of Survival, Self Analysis, etc)
Studying in sequence allows you to better understand the information when you get it. Some info that people throw around on the internet as a joke, could be easily understood, with a certain preknowlegde of the earlier subject matter.
And Your are saying a PA has a ‘M/W/H’(missed withhold). If the auditor has a withhold, there is NO session. Period.

The true basis of everything Glosslip publishes is a Sloshlip attitude. ROFL.
Comment by Terryeo — June 21, 2008 @ 7:43 pm
Oh dear Terryeo. What could you possibly have to “ROFL” about these days? That stats are down 50%? That people are leaving your cult in droves and speaking out at an unprecedented rate? That every months thousands protest your organization? The pending charges in Belgium? Lawrence Brennan’s declaration, which may very well mean the end of the tax-exempt status for your criminal organization cloaked in religion?
We all know you aren’t laughing at all Terryeo. Nor is anyone else from your dirty tricks department, OSA.
Nice try.

[...] GlossLip » Scientology Founded On Principles Of Dark Magic, Dark Psychology L. Ron Hubbard was a genius. Not a smart genius. Just a clever one. While his competence in the maths, sciences, and even English writing was poor to abysmal, he was really good with ideas. His imagination was bar none. (tags: history occult scientology howto) [...]

L Ron Hubbard said (in this video), “Actually Dianetic is a bad thing. Its a throughly vicious thing. If it were not for the fact that the earth is a prison and it doesn’t matter what happens to it. It would be a rough deal to release Dienetic. For there are those who try to control this system and because Dianetics allows you to control.”
See Hubbard teaches that our soul is trapped here on Earth. Earth is a prison for lost souls. And if we don’t release our thought process were doomed in a sense to be reborn here another billion times. He made up a bullshit science fiction theory stating his classes can help you break the redundant cycle of reincarnation and free your soul, so you can keep your memories and be free from the cycle.
This kind of thinking, teaches people the earth is a prison and that things like pyramid schemes & murder aren’t necessarily a bad thing. Because the victim well just be reborn, most likely to a better situation.
This is why Tom Cruise has no remorse for you. Tom believes you are a lost soul and he knows the secret to the Universe. He believes he is “ONE in a million” that knows the real truth, and that “knowing” well allow him to break the cycle of reincarnation & he will be able to escape the prison which is earth.

Terryeo, to KNOW it feels so good.
And I KNOW you believe in bullshit.
Some think if you go to far, you’ll never be able to get back to where the rest of us are. Its not to late.. Free your mind from the CULT and your ass will follow.

One note on my comment above…
The only thing hubbards classes teach you is..
1. to stare at people like you are bat shit crazy
2. to give and take orders.. (this means you are nothing more then a henchman for the cult taking orders like a well trained puppy.)
3. bullbait - most of the crap they teach you is for defending the same crap that has them trapped.
Somewhere in the above teachings they give you a little bit of the science fiction story of reincarnation and gaining super powers. BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT!
Nobody in Scientology has a single superpower or anything else or you could point it out. But its all just BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHIT!

Hey Terryeo, why don’t you go touch that wall over there.
Come on be a good brainwashed henchman. Terryeo, go touch that wall over there.
You follow orders so well. Ok enough with the wall.
Terryeo why don’t you tell us all what OT level you are and everything you know about Xenu, aleins and volcano’s.
