Friends Movie: They’ll Be There For Us

I’m so NOT surprised…after seeing the recent success of the Sex And The City movie, yet another television show cast has decided to further their adventures on the big screen.  Yes, rumor has it that the long-anticipated Friends movie is about to take off:

Cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer will reprise their roles for a big-screen adaptation ‘within the next 18 months’, according to insiders.

The actors have been inspired by the recent success of Sex And The City, which recently hit cinemas worldwide.

A source said: ‘Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances.

‘The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right.

‘Timing and the script are really important, but now that Courteney and Jen both have production companies, they can potentially get very involved in those decisions.’

It’s reported that it was Jennifer who was dragging her heels, but now she’s ready to put on the shag haircut again and make the movie.

Okay, let’s face it…I’ve been sitting here for twenty minutes trying to think up something clever and witty to say about this, but I got nuthin’.  The truth is, they all need the money because, after Friends ended, their careers went in the dumper.  It hasn’t been their day, their week, their month, or even their year(s).  Jennifer has had the most movie success, and that’s been iffy at best.  They need this movie like Joey needs turkey.  Like Monica needs to clean.  Like Ross and Rachel needed a break.

And who cares?  I liked Friends, for the most part, and they were good at their roles, it will probably be mindless entertainment (which ain’t so bad), so here’s a movie I am actually interested in.  Yes, k is interested in a new movie.  Get out!

  3. how do they need the money in the last 2 seasons of friends they were each paide 1.2 mil per episodes and they made over 40 in seasons 9 and 10 they will be well off forever even if they do nothing heres my idea of the movie:
    i hope they make one…..the storyline can go something like ross and rachel get married and have their 2nd child together,chandler and monica adopt their third baby and joey is a big movie star and pheobe is still married with mike and pregnant with their 2nd baby when they hear that central perk is being demolished they all come together….pheobe chains herself to the front of the the store,chandler and ross attract customers,monica is in the kitchen and rachel gets her waitressing job back and joey uses his famous friends to help…in the end they decide to buy it and all move back to NYC and their kids start becoming best friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I think Friends would be an interesting movie because the show was done sitcom-style, with sitcom-style camera angles, a laugh track, etc. Sex And The City was already shot in a movie format as a series, so it kinda looked the same to me in movie previews and all, but Friends will look completely different. And I liked Friends more than Sex And The City anyway.

    I always wanted Phoebe and Joey to get together. They were perfect for each other, and nobody knew it but me… ;_;
