Is The Britney/Kevin Custody Drama Over?

I’m sure it would be a big relief for all concerned if it were.  News is that an agreement was reached for Kevin to have legal custody but with increasing visitation for Brit:

Britney Spears has agreed to allow ex-husband Kevin Federline to retain legal custody of their two children in return for gradually increased visitation, sources close to the troubled pop star said Friday.

By the end of the year, the sources said, Federline and Spears will split custody of 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James evenly.

During Friday’s hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court, Federline also asked for and was granted increased child support as well as $250,000 for legal fees, the sources said.

When I first saw this, I thought, uhoh…but it seems that it could be the best thing for all concerned.  This way, the two parents can stop the legal wrangling and get down to the business of raising those two little boys.  Britney continues to improve and if she continues on her current course of medication and work I see nothing but good things for her, both personally and career-wise.  She isn’t out of the woods just yet, or her father would not still be conservator, but it’s obvious that she’s made huge strides in the right direction.  Who would have thought a year ago that we’d be here?  Just goes to show that it just takes the right sort of help.

But according to the Mirror, things aren’t roses and chocolates in Brit’s life just yet.  She’s working on some songs for a new album, and one of the songs includes this line:

Hey Mama, I know it’s my cash you seek.

Now, a lot of sites are interpreting this as a dig at Lynne Spears, and quite frankly I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.  I’m just wondering if “mama” isn’t a generic term, like people used to say, “Hey, mama,” to a woman.  But then again, if it is directed at Lynne, she’d deserve it.

  1. She has the best team put together now - I doubt this is the first release from her album.

Someone is making trouble and you are .. whatever you are enough, to publish it.

  3. Did you even read the story? It was mostly saying positive things about Britney.

Gah. Reading comprehension, it’s more than just a section on your semester finals.
