DNA Evidence Found In Missing Toddler Caylee Anthony Case, Mother Casey Formally Charged On Two Counts

All Smiles, Mother of Missing Toddler Casey Anthony At Bond Hearing

We are inching ever closer to finding out what happened to missing two-year old Caylee Anthony. According to separate reports, the Orange County Police Department has received positive results back on DNA testing of done in the case of the missing toddler, although information linking this DNA to the car abandoned by her mother Casey remains sketchy.

Investigators from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office discussed new DNA evidence, possibly from a stain left in the trunk of a car used by Casey Anthony.

Officials confirmed they have Caylee Anthony’s DNA at a news conference Monday evening, but they’re still waiting for DNA test results from the car.

“When it is appropriate, we will do what is necessary to further this case. We will not discuss results individually regarding any item that is returned to us,” Orange County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

Nieves said they’re still checking tips but believe Caylee won’t be found until Casey Anthony starts talking.

The information regarding the DNA was released Monday evening, but today we have reports stating the State Attorney’s office have filed formal charges against Casey Anthony in her daughter’s disappearance.

Formal charges were filed against the mother of missing toddler Caylee Anthony by the State Attorney’s Office on Tuesday.

Casey Anthony was charged with one misdemeanor charge of filing a false report and one felony charge of child neglect.

She was arrested on July 16 and is being held on charges of child neglect with a $500,000 bond.

Rumors have circulated about possible immunity being extended to Casey Anthony in return for her assistance in finding her daughter, but according to David Lohr of the Criminal Report Daily, an official spokesperson for the SA’s office said no such deal is on the table. More from the CRD:

Despite this breaking news, Nieves does not believe Caylee will be found without assistance from her mother.

“What we need to do is receive information from Casey that is nothing but the truth,” Nieves said.

Yesterday, WFTV.com reported that prosecutors had offered Casey Anthony immunity, in exchange for information about her daughter; however State Attorney’s Office spokesman Randy Means has since said that no such deal is in the works.

“We are not entertaining immunity for anyone involved with this case,” Means told WESH.com.

Baez also said that the only DNA evidence that investigators have recovered was taken from the car that Casey Anthony was driving.

Clearly the walls are closing in on Casey Anthony and her tangled web of lies, and despite her families best efforts to circle the wagon around her, her behavior before, during and after her daughter’s disappearance are doing little to convince the authorities or the public she is not directly linked or worse yet, responsible for little Caylee being missing.

Caylee’s 3rd birthday is this Saturday, how incredibly tragic she most likely won’t be spending it with her family.

  1. I have a gut feeling the Caylee’s Mom left her in the trunk of the car while she was out partying and when she returned Caylee had died from heat exposure. Casey then went to borrow a shovel from a near by neighbor and buried Caylee. Caylee will never be found. So sad…why can’t parents who don’t want their children give them to parents that want children. Rot in HELL Casey.

  7. Vicki,
Hadn’t considered that…it’s definitely a possibility. I was thinking that something transpired between Casey and the boyfriend that involved Caylee’s disappearance, but exactly what, I don’t have a guess. Either way, I do think she is completely responsible for her daughter’s disappearance. If you weren’t guilty of something, why would you lie to the police?? Why would you NEVER report it in the first place??? I know if my child went missing, I’d be at the police station in a heartbeat with a bull horn telling them everything I knew.
Let’s just be crazy people for a second and pretend that Casey didn’t have anything to do with her daughter’s disppearance…even if that were true, she’s still responsible for the fact that Caylee is STILL missing. She could’ve told police the truth back in July when they brought her in. There is just NO EXCUSE for her behavior.
And yes, she should rot in hell. Psycho b**ch.

  9. Well, I thought that maybe she had left her in the car as well, but then I would think she would admit responsibility and at least take the blame for that, but she will tell them nothing. Is it possible she left her at the vacant apartment where she showed the police her babysitter supposedly lived and she was hurt there when she came back to get her? How would Casey know that place was vacant? That is just so messed up.

  13. This entire case reminds me of the Smith case in South Carolina in the 1990’s. I have had a gut feeling that Caylee was either killed or died from some form of neglect and has been done away with…and with as much water as there is in and around Florida…that child is either in it or very near it.
Her mother is a selfish nut case! If my child was missing for one moment I would be going nuts! I would tell anyone and eveyone in sight or ear shot and the police and FBI would have been contacted on the spot and you would not see me clubbing and smiling and posing for pics….I would be desperate to find my child….no matter what!!!! My kids come first above anyone and anything!!!

I would hate to see what’s under there if anything. 25. THERE WAS NO FRESHLY POORED CEMENT SLAB only pavers.. i keep seeing this statement circulate. There was only pavers which police already checked. I too believe that either it was intentional or an accident like she left her in the car while she partied, passed out for the night and found her daughter dead the next day in the car. I don’t believe Cindy and George had anything to do with it but then again it is interesting that he is a retired homocide cop and she is an RN. hmmmm… makes you wonder… maybe they aren’t involved.. but years of growing up with these parents may have supplied Casey with enough knowledge to hide Caylee’s body succesfully… She is truly a sociopath who may never come clean unless Caylee’s poor little body is actually found….

I hope Casey suffers for what she has done wherever she ends up.

  29. I think the entire family is involved. Isn’t so convenient that Casey mother was a nurse and father an ex-cop. Two people more than capable of pulling off this wild goose chase they seem to have the entire nation on. The news stations have tested the pizza idea and well guess what… after 12 days the pizza smelled like…pizza. So we now know that cindy lied! If you are capable of one lie you are surely are capable of another. Casey keeps quiet to protect the family and the family keeps the nation going on a manhunt search to let us believe caylee is alive and to protect their daughter.

The evidence in this case will tell us the story of that poor beautiful little girl and justice will hopefully give us a more peaceful ending then never knowing!

She may not have been a great mother…But she is a human being and there are millions of other offenders who mistreat kids and they don’t get this kind of bashing. The press is using this as a spectacle.. just the drama of it.

  33. I believe that Casey murdered Caley; buried her body in her parents’ back yard while they were away; returned days later to retrieve Caley’s body while the parents again were not home; put Caley’s dead body in the trunk of her car, stole her Dad’s gasoline, and then burned and buried Caley’s remains somewhere near her home. AND I believe the police and FBI know all of this but are not putting this out there until they find Caley’s remains. Double jeopardy thing.

We all know she worked there formally a few years ago, but I think she was involved in drug dealing and went there to “work” more recently. I have a feeling her child was killed because she owed money or something related to a secret life she has.

I think Casey is one very, very sick young woman and should be institutionalized one way or another… for a very, very long time.

  47. It was reported awhile back that Casey took a credit card of her mothers and spend $4500. I’d like to see what was purchased on that credit card and when the purchases were made and if there were things purchased for Caylee? What Mother would go on a shopping spree and not buy things for her child.
During the start of this investigation there was a girlfriend of Casey’s that called into the Nancy Grace show and said that Casey had an argument with her Mother and that’s why she took off with Caylee when she did. I’d like to know what that fight was about and if any reporters or police investigators have talked to this friend. She seemed to have a lot of inside info on Casey and referred to herself and Casey’s best friend.
Another fact that’s strange is this so called “nanny” or “babysitter.” She has never been seen by her family, friends or anyone else. Casey stated she had watched Caylee for the last year yet the family admitted they’d never seen her or talked to her and friends of Casey’s that the police have talked to also state they had never met or seen this babysitter.
I honestly feel Casey is a sociopath and thrives on attention from others. Up to now, Caylee has fit into the life she was leading and wasn’t a problem or burden. But things have changed recently; the “new” boyfriend and group of “bar friends”. Caylee has become a burden and wasn’t fitting into her new nightclub lifestyle.
This reminds me of Scott Peterson. The responsibility of a child didn’t fit into his lifestyle so he got rid of both the “mother & child”.

This may be a wild goose chase but was reading other message boards and one person said that the biological father, who supposedly died in an automobile accident a year ago, might of been a Jesus Ortiz. His My Space site has a message related to Caylee Anthony. Scroll down to : “[Stephanie] Love You Caylee Marie Anthony”.
    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=15753753

The “nanny/babysitter” was originally described as from Puerto Rico (?)
Casey’s friend Amy went on a 5 day trip to Puerto Rico around the time frame that Caylee went missing.
Is it possible that little Caylee is in Puerto Rico with biological family? Probably a better home than with spaced out Casey.

  59. Lying is learned at home and I guess Casey learned it well from both of her nutty parents. She was raised with lies and the grandmother and grandfather are just as responsible for continuing to lie for and with her. What a shame that they are parents and grandparents to this precious baby.
If the police thought for 1 moment that this baby had been kidnapped there would have been an Amber Alert! The police know much more than we do and pretty soon we’re all going to know the results of those tests.
My heart breaks for the baby, not the nutty family that is full of deceit and lies. The grandparents should be charged with obstructing a police investigation too.

  61. I suspect she sedated and killed her daughter by suffocation, hid the body under the shed, later moved the decaying body into the car, and hid it somewhere in a shallow grave. Then she partied and shopped to satisfy her self esteem and be the center of attention, to fill that void in her life that Caylee didn’t fill. She has been manipulating her parents for a very long time, and probably doesn’t know how to get her needs met without lying and manipulation.

  63. This situation is very confused, but I agree with comment 29, What about if Caylee was taken to make her mother pay for some money she borrowed from a drug dealer? does anyone believe that Caylee is still alive? What about what she was saying to her dad, that she is close, she is close. To be honest, that idea of killing that angel, does not fit in my mind. She must be in serious trouble of money. I am thinking that she is afraid to release any names since that people probably menaced her, she is not free to talk since all the information is recorded and the drug dealer might do something to her child. I just can not believe a mother could kill her own child……It is very sad! I have a daughter that is almost same age as caylee and I look at her and at my 5 year old son… and I will die if something happen to them.

  65. Nice thoughts everyone about her being with- really, anybody else. Even if there were a Zenida, she would probably be a better parent.

Unfortunately, the cadaver dogs have hit on both backyard and trunk. That pretty much sums it up for me. Two separate dogs at two different times. Dogs that are trained to only hit on DEAD HUMAN REMAINS.

I think the gas cans were used to fill up her tank. Just for a few miles before she ran out of gas.
She was known to steal money etc.

If she buried her first in the backyard, chances are she buried her in another similar kind of scene.
Maybe she was actually smart enough to realize that someone might check the backyard and find something.

Let’s all pray they find Caylee. Dead or alive.

Also, that is interesting that she refers to herself as Stephanie. Probably some other lie I’m sure.

  67. If that was all it was, money owed to drug dealers, then she would quietly say so and send in SWAT to rescue the kid before the dealer decides to get rid of the evidence. Why didn’t she just sell her car? She had money to go on a huge shopping spree. Maybe she entered that Hottest Body contest hoping to win free drinks to put towards her debts?

The bottom line is that Casey is a manipulative sociopath who has her unfortunate naive and gulible parents running around telling anyone who will listen about kidnappings and rotten pizza. Meanwhile, I can’t forget her mothers statement after they found the car that Casey abandoned in a parking lot - “Her goddam car smells like a dead body!”.

  69. I think what mb said makes sense. Casey might have left Caylee in the vacant apartment where she told police the babysitter lived. She did it because leaving a child in a car is very dangerous and if someone passing by and reporting to police, Casey will be in trouble. She must have known it. So before she decided to go to some social event, she left the kid in where she knows as a vacant apartment to save money, and faked the story to her boyfriend and others that she sent the little baby to baby sitter’s home. Remember, people around her said she was a good mother, she probably wants people think that way.I think some bad thing happened to her baby, or she was killed by somebody, a psycho maybe. She started to cover the story because she thinks that’s the best way to get her off. She moved the baby’s body and buried her and then abandoned the car. Well, it is just my wild guess, and if police can check again the vacant apartment, they maybe able to get something if my guess is true.

  73. I think that something went wrong and that beautiful little girl died or was killed and the gas cans were either used to hit the evidence or put gas in her car and drive somewhere further to be buried, which furthers it even more, if she thought that much into detail about how to hide the remains of her gorgeous little girl then why wouldn’t she clean all the evidence out of her car? I hope and pray to god that she is still alive but, all the signs are pointing towards her neglectful mother.

  81. Folks, this isn’t that hard to figure out. First we have a “mother” who shows zero emotion in regards to a missing child (the rest of us would be inconsolable). We have Caylee’s hair in the TRUNK of mom’s car along with stains currently being DNA tested (guess how that will come out?). Caylee went missing June 16th; thereafter mom wasn’t seen for over a month. Mom “borrowed” a shovel and “stole” gas cans around the time of June 24th. Mom was also seen partying mightily scantily clad without a worry in the world.

Net: Mom killed (accidentally or intentially…) little Caylee, hid her rotting body in the trunk of her car, and eventually burned and buried the remains. Grandma and Grandpa are playng the media for fools; dodging the inevitable to try and salvage their heinous daughter. Makes one think how they feel about Caylee????

Joe Baez is working the system, playing the media, and coaxing Mom and Grandma to play along to his desired result.

  83. To me that girl is still alive, something inside me make me thing that! The parents knows something, I saw the most recent video where they interviewed them, and they feel 100% sure that girl is still alive, casey must told them something that they can not release. But, you can see their faces on that video from yesterday and they feel a relieve. I really do no believe she left caylee in the trunk someone could hear her, the vacant apartment either cos she did not have the key or a neighbor will hear the baby crying the whole time for the mommy. The club party looks to me “trying to get customers” you know to sell drugs and pay money. To me she was not that worry since she knows the baby was with someone she knows but she needs to pay them before getting the girl back, that why she probably went to the club. She probably did not say nothing to the parents so they did not know she was on that type o business. Did you all look at the baby pictures? To me she does not look like an upset mother and did you see how nice is the baby room and her own room. during the interview the mother was sying that caylee used to sleep every day with her mommy. I mean guys I am not defending her, but I am evaluating the pros and cons of the situation. I think she stole the gas from her parents house because she did not even have money to pay for her own gas. This is what I think, plus the parents on that last interview seemed very honest. At the begining when the mom said about the smell, she probably even thought that, but I am sure she spoke to her and told her something that nobody else know but only her parents and the attorney. By the way when the interviewer asked her dad if he think Caylee is still alive, he said more than 100% mmmmm….what you think guys? Now, if she really did something to that girl….God will make sure she pays for that! and of course the justice. By the way if she buried something in the backyard, police will realize that the soil was recently removed, but they did not say anything, they say the first dog smelled something the first time, but the second dog did not smell anything. To me they are not doing anything else because they know something else…they are so many things they can use, people that knows her, what about the boyfriend she has….mmmm…who knows if he is inside the business too. I know caylee’s dad is death but she had a boyfrind right? If this case is even with FBI, and that girl is death, they will already found her. They are experts on that, to me this is something else! Someone has that baby….now she wants to get out of jail so she can beg those people to make a deal. but unfortunatelly she can not because everything she says is recorded. They are not investigating that deep, to me they already knows something and they are dealing with it in a different way.

  87. I agree with everyone who thinks Casey is a sociopath. In my opinion, she is a textbook case and she reminds me of Scott Peterson. Same cocky attitude with not one ounce of accountability, or remorse.

Another question that I have for Cindy Anthony aka “Queen of Denial?” Hey Cindy…you stated in an interview that “….they need to get off their ass and find her granddaughter.” How about asking your slutty, lesbian daughter what she did with little Caylee and then we’d all know. One moment she says that she doesn’t know where she is and the next moment, she’s afraid for Caylee’s life if she tells anyone where she is? Which is it Casey?

Watching Greta’s interview with Ma and Pa Anthony last night was the first time I’ve heard about Casey stealing her father’s gas cans out of his storage shed. These are the same two gas cans that the CSI team removed from the house a few days ago. P_ S S on the shovel, because Casey is too lazy and might have broken a nail if she actually used it. Now I’m wondering if the scumbag didn’t take Caylee’s body out somewhere and set it on fire. What a horrible, scary thought, but at this point, I wouldn’t put anything past her.

She has also told her family that Caylee is close to home. Scary thing is that her body probably is near-by, but more than likely it will be unidentifiable thanks to Casey and how much time has elapsed. How sad? Maybe they need to put her in the same cell as that nutcase up in Canada who killed that poor guy on the bus. What in the HELL is this world coming to anyway.

There are way too many questions and so far, it appears that there are no answers to be found, which is so frustrating for everyone. If there is no such person as Zenaida Fernandez ??, then who was actually taking care of Caylee when her mom was out partying and hunching other women? It seems like the investigators need to find that out and question anyone and everyone.

I’d like to see an interview with the neighbor who loaned her the shovel. How did she appear when she asked to borrow it, was she nervous, did she act guilty at all, etc. Then…..we have the grandmother and one of the detectives said they smelled a dead body, not to mention the cadavor dogs alerting to the rear of Casey’s car and a corner in the Anthony’s backyard.

I am really looking forward to the Orange County Sheriff’s office solving this ongoing mystery.

  89. Casey keeps saying Caylee is close, Caylee is near, Caylee is in danger, Caylee will be home for her birthday.

So how does Casey know this stuff? Has someone been visiting her in jail? I am pretty sure the last thing I read on it was she asked for her visitors to be limited to her mom, dad, and brother. Has she gotten phone calls? Surely the jail would have released them by now, they’ve released the others. Letters? I’m pretty sure they are monitored.

I think Casey is stringing us all along.

  91. According to the book “The Sociopath Next Door”, the main thing to look for in identifying a sociopath is the “pity play”. The “poor me” game. Casey fits this to a “tee”. The other thing that’s brought up is that sociopath’s can inherit these traits. They think that altered functioning in the cerebral cortex may be what causes some of these traits. It may be half nature vrs. half nurture. Just look to Casey’s mom for the explanation on that. I think the whole family is trying to take the world for a ride. At that poor little baby’s expense.

And the police can’t tell us much more if they want to take this to court. They obviously have enough evidence to charge Casey and keep her in jail. Revealing what they have to the public could jeopardize their case.

  93. I have followed this horrible case from the beginning. I think the police should try to find the tattoo parlour where Casey got the ” beautiful life” tatoo…the one she got after Caylee went missing, and that she said was FOR Caylee. They could talk to the tattoo artist…find out the day it done, see what Casey talked about, and what her mood was.
My heart aches for little angel Caylee….but I am sure she is in a safe place now.

  95. Sociopaths look for sympathy while they lie and manipulate to get what they want - even when they would be better off telling the truth and dealing with their sh*t. They are particularly adept at manipulating their family members emotionally. In this case Casey is claiming to be a martyr for her daughter while trying to wiggle out of her contradictory statements. I guarantee when all of this evidence gets her convicted she will just blame others, rather than take responsiblity. Her mother is already blaming the media.

  97. I am just flabbergasted as to how Casey has acted since all this has occured. Do you listen to her on the phone with her family? “Hey, whats up? Whats going on? Hows life?”, she sounds like shes calling from work or vacation to check up on people. She doesnt have one shred of remorse or concern in her voice, at all. During one call she was even yelling and complaining about how everyone was too busy worrying about Caylee! Your f^%#ing kid is missing and you are worrying about yourself? How about telling the truth! I think she did do something to her, and I bet she figures the longer she waits, the longer the body will have to be unindentified. I pray to GOD these investigators find that little girl. My heart aches for her family (the ones actually telling the truth!)

Someone else had a good point too, I think the Anthonys may just be trying to gain their daughters trust. I do believe theyre more concerned with Caylee than they are Casey, and that there is a method to their madness. You could tell in Cindy Anthonys voice when she called 911 that she was frantic and distraught (the dead body smell, call) and that is a big reason why I think they say they believe Casey, and are “on Caseys side”. They are just trying to find out information to get their granddaughter back. I know if something like that ever happened in my family my mother and father would drive me to the jail themselves, and thats exactly what Cindy was trying to do to begin with.

Casey on the other hand you can tell that either she knows for a FACT her daughter is safe, and thats why she isnt concerned or worried, or she is a definite sociopath, either way, the bitch should rot in jail for all the trouble she has caused and turmoil she has put people through.

  99. Related to the drug issue- anyone else hear Cindy (the grandmother) refer to the alleged baby-sitter as “Zannie”. I heard it at least once.

For those who aren’t aware “Zannies” is the street slang term for Xanax, a controlled substance/prescription drug.

One theory I came up with is: everytime Casey SAID she was bringing Caylee to the sitter, she was ACTUALLY giving Caylee Xanax pills to make her sleep (possibly in the trunk?). Its definitely plausible that she was doing this for a while, and suddenly, Caylee OD’d and died. Casey KNEW they would do a toxicology report and find the “Zannies” in her system, and that she would be charged.

She panicked, and did the first thing that came to mind… get rid of the body and try to make up a kidnapping story.

Someone owes me $$$ if I end up being right about this.

  103. I am glad to hear that there will searches tomorrow, in nearby lakes for Caylee. Casey refused to give any truthful information to the police, the FBI comes into the picture, when she was willing to speak with them, she did not give them any useful information, not even a sketch drawing made of the so called “nanny”. Surely a sketch would have hit the media, if that was the case. Why of course, she the answers to her missing child. She holds the key, I would be disappointed in our justice system, if they did not pursue her as the only suspect. Of course, they are making a case against her, it would be unreasonable to think otherwise. The grandmother blabbing all of the media, as not helped whatsoever, except make a fool of herself, one case in particular was when she was interviewed with Greta on Fox. The majority of that whole conversation was the grandmother putting down the ground rules of not asking “stupid” questions. I will change the channel on any more interviews that woman does. That was so rediculous! I believe Casey will be charged with murder, probably soon. Caylee may be found, may be not, but the circumstancial evidence up to now is very overwhelming, everything points to Casey. The recent offical charges that were made, I am glad to see, otherwise if no charges were filed within 33 days of her arrest, she would have been released. These charges were necessary to keep her in jail, until the murder charges are filed. Maybe this so called attorney of hers, not too bright in my eyes, will make it an easy conviction. He expects the police to do all the investigating, when in fact his client holds the key to everything, when you hire an attorney, his investigators will do their own investigations, and its pretty apparent they haven’t been doing that, otherwise by now, with the help of his client they would have come up with Caylee by now. Caylee is just not alive, folks. Casey may never come clean. I think the interest in this case is fading, you don’t see a whole lot on the news anymore, a bleep here and a bleep there. For me, I have followed this case for sometime, it was such a bizarre case. I first thought, omg, this poor mother and her family. Well that changed for me very quickly, with all the wild goose chases and all the lies, and then bring the bizarre grandmother into the mix, oh boy. Circumstancial evidence will get her convicted.

  107. To Stephanie,
Fox News did a report on Greta Van Susteren last night whereby the reporter disclosed some previously unreported facts. It seems that he did speak with the neighbor that Casey borrowed the shovel from and the neighbor reported some interesting information. After Casey got the shovel from them, she backed her car into the driveway/garage. The neighbor said he had never ever seen her back her car in before. Interesting, huh? Was she loading Caylee’s body in her car thus she backed it in to make it easier? Or was she going to take Caylee’s body out of the car to bury it? Sick, sick, sick.

Another reported late last night, was that Cindy said that she and Casey had swam in their above ground pool a couple of nights before Cindy and her husband left for vacation. When they got out of the pool, Cindy made sure that they removed the ladder from the pool so that Caylee wouldn’t be able to climb into the pool unknowingly. Cindy said that a few days later, she noticed that the ladder was back on the pool and that the gate was open. Pretty interesting.

Another thing reported, was that they had Casey’s cell phone records and the day after the 15th, Casey had repeatedly in rapid succession made phone calls to her mom at work, on her cell phone, at home, etc. Also to her Dad. None of them had been answered however. AFter that, no calls at all. Pretty interesting.

  109. with the recent third visit to the Anthony home and the waterway searches.. along with the police being hush about the DNA results, I am sure they are definitely on their way to filed murder or at least manslaughter charges against Casey. With so much info already released to the public, investigators are likely to hold on to any further pertinent info they obtain in order to successfully prosecute. I hope they find poor little Caylee’s body soon so that her grandparents can begin to grieve and have closure. They are acting pretty nuts, but I cant imagine being in their place and not acting this way. Besides they have to compensate for their daughter’s lack of concern and emotion. Hopefully, when this case comes to a close they accept what their daughter has done, instead of remaining in denial and continuing to defend Casey’s innocence as Scott Petersen’s parents have maintained to this day.

  111. Today on Greta Van Susterns On the Record column they had a transcript of last night’s show which I missed.
Very interesting as they have tightened up the timeline and now there is something interesting about the large outdoor pool in the Anthony’s backyard. It seems that Cindy and Casey swam in the pool the night before Casey left with Caylee. The ladder of the pool snaps off so you can keep children from climbing up and getting in the pool. Cindy took the ladder down after their swim which was Sunday the 16th of June. No one swam in the pool on monday but the next day Cindy Anthony noticed that the ladder was back up
connected to the pool and the side gate was open.
Also the day that Casey borrowed a shovel, the neighbor noticed that she backed her car up into the driveway something she had never see her do before.
Could it be that Caylee was drowned in the pool, buried in the yard using something other than a shovel and then Casey came back and borrowed a shovel and dug her up and placed her in the trunk of the car?
I cant figure out about the gas cans when exactly they were taken - but its possible she drove around with Caylee in the trunk looking for a place to dispose of the body - and because of the smell didnt wnat to take her car to a gas station and stole the gas cans as she needed gas. Just some thoughts on all this.

  113. Ok first off i believe casey should have the crap beat out of her until she tells the truth about what she knows. Second while the evidence and past knowledge of missing children cases point to the idea that little caylee is no longer with us i pray and keep hope alive that she is still alive out there somewhere.
Third just so everyone knows… THE DOGS ARE NOT THAT ACCURATE when it comes to finding human remains. Must husband is part of a search and rescue team and knows of plenty of times when the dogs responsed as if there is a dead human body and it turns out to be animal remains or YES even old rotting food….SO for the statment to be made that the dogs response confirms a body is wrong and it does piss me off that the police would lead people to believe this. It is such crap….I am not saying the dogs did not smell a dead body i am just saying it can not be 100%….oh and about the food in the car…how many people have smelled a rotting potato??? there is that chance that the smell was old food or something that fell out of a shopping bag in the trunk and was left for an extended period of time…
I too have thought that she pissed off the wrong person by taking money or soemthing and maybe they are holding the little girl and if the are criminal they would not come forward with caylee. But if that is the case then i also realize that after all this media attention they most likely would have killed her and got rid of the body. either way if casey did kill caylee or someone else did or does that mother is still responsible b/c she kept it hidden for so long….
No i am not naive and no i do not support casey, i have a little girl who is 2 months younger than caylee and can believe what this mother is putting the nation thru…I pray for that little girl every night i pray that god brings her home whether it is to be held and loved or for the nation to bury her and mourn her properly. This little girl has touched my heart and even though the media is slowly letting go of the case i know that i will never be able to stop following it until caylee is found…

PLEASE EVERYONE PRAY FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL!!!!!

  115. What a tragic case this is, wow. I have discussed this case with my wife every night. I have two young sons and as other parents have said, would be freaking out uncontrolably if either were missing for a second. This is what I believe happened: Casey was partying with friends or her boyfriend and locked Calyee in the car. When she came to check on her hours later she discovered her in the back of the car. She had try to get out of the car and died of overheating. She took her to her parents house while they were away and attempted to bury Caylee in the back yard. She thought it would be too noticable by her parents she then loaded her in the car again and stole the gas cans by breakng into her dads shed in the back yard. She took poor Caylee, with help from someone possibly, to another location and burned her and buried the skeletal remains. Casey thinks if she doesn’t talk, Caylees remains will never be found. This theory may be far fetched, but parts will be proved to be true. Something happened in Caseys life in the past few months. I believe it is a boyfriend who did’t like the burden of the child in their relationship. The earlier pictures of Casey and Caylee looked like there was love there, but this change, changed everything. That’s why she was asking on the phone for her bf’s phone number. She needs to talk to him about what to do, he was the cause of all of this, she is now realizing that.

I think it will be a good idea to contact his boyfriend and let him talk to her in jail to see if he is able to get some info from her, maybe she trust him more and will tell him what happened, since she seems desperated to talk to him, and she will tell him what happened. On the other hand, he might not go to see casey if he is part of this trouble, and feel guilty. That way police can tell if he is part of all this or not.

  125. Very true Jack. My mother is an RN as well and you don’t mistake rotting flesh.

For those who can’t believe a mother could kill her own child, well there are lots of unimaginable things that happen all the time. Young children who are murdered are actually MOST LIKELY to be murdered by their mothers. There are only 2 crimes that women commit more than men and those are shop-lifting and infanticide.

Even if it was an “accident” that was entirely out of your control, wouldn’t you still be wracked with grief over the loss of your child? It doesn’t make sense to go out, party, and be all smiles.

I doubt the whole drug-dealer issue as well. Why spend 4500 shopping and why not sell her car? Tons of people owe money to drug dealers and the worst that generally happens is that they themselves get killed. I have met drug dealers and it would be a lot of trouble to kidnap and take care of a 2-year-old for randsom. Kids are generally only abducted in the level of mob-style like issues and Casey, though obviously criminal, wasn’t a kingpin. Also, she wouldn’t be all smiles.

Something tells me this is more of a Susan Smith. This woman has a heart of ice. I am about Casey’s age (I am 23) and I have no children. Most people my age like to go out and party and I have known quite a few women my age that take partying over being a mom. I wouldn’t be surprised if the boyfriend is a douche but I highly doubt that it was his idea to kill the kid. (It doesn’t take an “Evil man” to twist around an “innocent girl”, women can be plenty evil in an of themselves.)

I went to an all-girl, private school, and I also worked as a bar-maid and hostess in college so it doesn’t take me much to believe that pretty white girls can indeed be evil as it seems to elude some posters.

The grandparents are pretty messed up too.

  127. Continually blows me away how I read posts where people feel Caylee was either sold or is otherwise “missing” via some nepherious way (ie relative, babysitter, et al). Cmon people-we always hear about this absurd selling of the child and it’s NEVER the case. Move off your emotion and understand that everyday people do the unthinkable.

And…..know that the Police and FBI know this is a homicide; their evidence gathering and investigation are directly that of a murder. There is no search for Caylee other then dredging ponds and parks.

Don’t mean to be so blunt, but if I read another naive post about a selling of this child….cmon. Understand that Casey went missing herself at the exact time of Caylee’s disappearance……she had tons of time to work this out.

  128.
  129. We must assume that she is innocent of murder until we know for sure. That is the right of anyone. It is in our nature to have an opinion as to what happened. We can say it might have been murder, or accidental death (check the stats for deaths of children by drowning, suffocating in hot car - many many instances thereof by normal loving parents - people running over children by mistake. Accidental deaths happen all the time and people panic, especially if the parent fears what the other family members will think of them. Normally, however, in almost all the above cases, even parents who have accidentally caused their own child´s death, are DEVASTATED and barely able to function. Even if they deny their own wrongdoing and YES it is a very sad but human fact that we go into denial when we do something for which we feel guilt or pain - they generally do not exhibit the callousness and deviousness which Casey clearly is showing us all. Are there some parents that don´t show remorse - yes - but generally these are misfits that have a history of child abuse and are themselves disturbed.

Fact is, Casey had an argument and (apparently)took Caylee away out of spite. Single mom´s do this regularly to assert themselves (it´s MY child) if they have an argument with the parents. It happened to my niece who took off to dubious friends and then her child was raped….. all because she had an argument while living with Granny (In a lovely house with a pretty room - just like Caylee)over coming home late from parties…… According to what we have heard, Caylee took her little girl off to an insecure environment (sharing with a single boy and girl)rather than make her peace with granny. It is clear that no matter how much they talk about how she was a `good` mother she was a thief with a history of compulsive lying. That is not to say she didn#t love Caylee most of the time, but love does not make u a good mother….

THE BIGGEST THING THAT STICKS OUT AND WHY SHE MUST EXPECT US TO THINK ILL OF HER IS THAT THIS IS NOT THE MOVIES:::::: PEOPLE KIDNAP CHILDREN for ransom, custody battles etc. even if someone did run off with Caylee (and it is my opinion that this is NOT the case)she is neither worried about Caylee nor helping to find her. HOW THE HELL DOES SHE THINK THE SO CALLED KIDNAPPERS WILL HARM HER AND HER FAMILY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN TELLING POLICE WHAT SHE KNOWS: If it WAS a normal kidnap - she should be devastated and out of her mind giving police all info she has. There are programs to protect people who fear for their lives. Even in this genuine kidnap cases, there are leads given that CHECK OUT: she has done everything to AVOID her child being found. Each moment of a kidnap abduction the child is not with its parent. This should be HELL: Time passes and in a real situation a parent would know she needs help.
None of this checks out in this case so I don´t believe a word of it. Sadly I understand that the parents probably dont see the writing on the wall either, but for reasons of their own (and because they are her parents) must be in denial as to the fact that it doesn´t add up. They HAVE to believe the cock and bull that their daughter says is true. Even the parents of murderers convicted on irrefutable evidence mostly chose to believe their children´s story. They simply don´t want to believe that Caylee might be gone and that their daughter knows more that she is telling. But the entire world and then some can see that SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THEIR DAUGHTER´S STORY and THAT IS IN ITSELF A CRIME WHICH NOONE CAN DENY.

  131. Mum-

When you check the timeline and facts as they are known, you’ll find that Casey disappeared herself at the EXACT time that Caylee went missing. Casey began her mission to extracate herself from whatever harm she brought upon Caylee. Casey did NOT “take Caylee away out of spite” or any such argument, selling of the child, drug deal, et al. What she took was Caylee’s life, and THEN she went herself missing.

Please start connecting the dots her. Jury’s are intructed to weigh circumstantial evidence on an equal basis with direct evidence. This thing is exactly what it is-please don’t ascribe normal motives to Casey.

  133. It doesn’t seem to me this case has anything to do with money or Caylee being held for ransom or taken because of money owed due to drug deals. There’s a $225,000 reward that would have more than covered that and in time, someone would have cashed in….somehow. Money talks! In most crimes, there’s more than one person who is aware of what happened. People talk..and in that manner, they are not acting alone. I think we would all love to see Caylee alive and well and have thought of every scenario that would produce this. We can’t relate to a mother who would party with all smiles while her child is missing because it’s not in our realm of thought. “My child’s alive, but being held for ransom by drug dealers….think I’ll party it up tonight and tomorrow night. Think I’ll go out and buy some new clothes too”. Or….”she’s close by and safe, but I’m not going to help you find her because she could be harmed and I’m a good mom and I will protect her with my silence….but please do not disrupt my partying time”. Even the babysitter one, “The babysitter won’t give my child back…and I can’t find her….but I don’t think she’ll hurt her….guess I’ll go out and party it up night after night”. “Oh but first, before I can do all this…..can I borrow your shovel”?

  135. For everyone who wants to know why Casey took Caylee away in the first place here is Cindy Anthony’s My space entry before it was deleted - she is talking about Casey and Caylee - note she says Jealousy took
Caylee away from her - jealousy from the “one person
who should be thankful” (Casey) she goes on, a Mothers love is deep (she is talking about herself here)
and then goes on about being “betrayed” (by Casey).
So jealousy was the motive at first to remove Caylee
from Cindy. I heard a psychologist last night describe
Casey as a “bully” - just by her language how she talks to everyone around her - swearing and using four letter words to her own mother, who sounds weary and used to such language from Casey. I think these people have given in to Casey all her life - that is one way to mold a person into a sociopath - always believing their lies and manipulations causes them to keep repeating this behavior - always standing up for them even when they are wrong - its not a good way to raise up a child. Today Casey again proves herself the bully - her brother came to see her at the jail - and she refused to see him! She
was “not interested” in seeing him. That because from the reports she is getting she feels her parents and her brother are not backing her up. So she is “punishing them”. She is one chilling individual.
Many women kill - most killers of small children are either a mother or a father - they just dont get the press this one did. This girl has killed her child
maybe accidentally (on purpose) or by intent, but she did it. Dont forget this just didnt occur - this child has been gone for 6 weeks - thats a very long time - we have only started with this saga after one long month of the child being missing and nothing has turned up. I wonder what Cindy Anthony’s story will be today about Casey refusing to see her brother Lee,
another excuse - Frankly, I feel that Cindy and the husband and brother should not try to see her - the more isolated Casey is in jail - it might cause her to crack.
Below is Cindy Anthonys My space page entry before it was deleted:
She came into my life unexspectedly, just as she has left me. This precious little angel from above gave me strength and unconditional love. Now she is gone and I don’t know why. All I am guilty of is loving her and providing her a safe home. Jealousy has taken her away. Jealousy from the one person that should be thankfull for all of the love and support given to her. A mother’s love is deep, however there are limits when one is betrayed by the one she loved and trusted the most. A daughter comes to her mother for support when she is pregnant, the mother says without hesitation it will be ok. And it was. But then the lies and betrayal began. First it seemed harmless, ah, love is blind. A mother will look for the good in her child and give them a chance to change. This mother gave chance after chance for her daughter to change, but instead more lies more betrayal. What does the mother get for giving her daughter all of these chances? A broken heart. The daughter who stole money, lots of money, leaves without warning and does not let her mother now speak to the baby that her mother raised, fed, clothed, sheltered, paid her medical bills, etc. Instead tells her friends that her mother is controlling her life and she needs her space. No money, no future. Where did she go? Who is now watching out for the little angel?” [sic throughout].

I just read an update from Greta on Fox which is very interested, she narrows down some very crucial dates. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,401921,00.html It’s a very simple read, it cuts to the chase and this is my take on it. Casey choose that date of June 9th, I think for this reason…she was trying to cover her tracks from what occurred on June 18th, regarding the shovel, backing the car in. If she decided to pick that date, unknowingly that there would be evidence to counter what she said, she could then blame the disappearance on a so called “nanny”, saying Caylee was kidnapped, to cover her tracks of whatever SHE did on June 18th, on whatever SHE did whether an accident or not, and so she began with a lie, which turned into more lies, etc. She preplanned some ofwhat she would say and do if she got confronted. She thought she could out smart everyone, seriously. I think maybe why she has been cancelling all her little jailhouse meetings, is because her family is coming to the conclusion that she is full of crap and she is the one that has brought this terrible situation onto everyone that loved Caylee. I hope one day she has so much guilt and burden in her heart, that she will loose it and spill her guts.

  141. I just watched the video of Zenaida Gonzalez doing an interview, she has come out to defend herself. She spent one day looking for apartments along that area with her boyfriend and son. She said some people were in the office when she inquired, and all 3 looked at an apartment in the back, on the 3rd floor, took about 15 mins. and never went back. She filled out a guest card, as well. She said she went to other apartment complexes as well that day, who knows how Casey got ahold of her name. I’m glad this person came forward and did a public interview. It’s interesting how all this is unraveling. It’s so baffling how Casey came up with this information. Sure Casey did her own investigation, it was to cover her own tracks!

  143. i totally agree with angie … HOW did casey know the name of that women … she oviously DID do some investigation of her own which brings me to wonder if she had plotted this out all along . Everyone states that they think it was some freak accident that happened to Caylee and casey just tried to cover it up … i dont believe that she has no sympathy at all … she doesnt even care , you can tell in her eyes , she has no feelings about it , all she cares about is herself . She plotted this out , Caylee is gone , i hate to say it , it is so heartbreaking but i just got this gut feeling and casey is just lieing way to much …. she didnt even get to see her 3rd birthday …. she took her life before it really even began and that is so sad . I too would love to see Casey …. see if she could stand up to someone her own age …. not a three year old helpless child . I would beat the living heck out that women and smile in her face just like she does for the cameras

  151. I felt rather dismayed to hear the grandmother coarsely declare “Get off your ass and look for Caylee.” Does she think the rest of the world (even though of course everyone wants a good result and would help look if they thought it would do any good) OWES her this help? Most relatives of missing children are near hysterical, crying and PLEADING with the public for help, not DEMANDING. Casey, the mother just smiles and looks goofy and tells lies. I hate her speech patterns, like “Whoa. Calling you. Major mistake.” She has a very controlling way of speaking. Also, the whole family talks in circles and they all seem to be involved. These cryptic comments from the grandparents “These people know they’re being watched.” When asked who are “these people”, the grandfather says “I can’t get into that.” Do they think they’re in a spy movie? He couldn’t have been a very good detective since he obviously doesn’t realize how absurd he sounds. You know, a lot of us may have been born at night, but not last night. Give us all a break, Anthony family. Just shut up.

  161. There are still so many “holes” in this case. For instance - if Casey did something to Caylee at her own home - she wouldnt have left the body there - and if she did it was for a very short period of time - say she did bury the body for one day - it wouldnt have decomposed enough for the cadaver dogs to hit on it. Also if she took the body to the wooded area by the Orlando airport - and buried her - it would have had to be within those three days June 16 through 18th. Why then did the trunk not have any smell when George Anthony found the gas cans on June 24th? Did she bury Caylee and then dig her up again after the 24th to put her in the trunk? It doesnt make sense
Again, the trunk didnt smell on the 24th but did when it was found - meaning the body had to go back into the car at sometime after the 24th. As to the shovel,
and Casey backing her car into the driveway - I think
she borrowed the shovel to brake the lock on the shed then she backed her car into the driveway to put in the gas cans - so no one would see her lugging them out to her car. Otherwise how did she break the
lock on the shed door - have you ever tried to break a lock? A shovel could have done it. The timeline
says that the police believe Caylee was killed sometime in those three days - but there was a real smell in that car - everyone agrees on that. However,
there was no smell and nothing in the trunk except the gas cans on June 24th. Also they never said if the gas cans were empty. The maps show that all the areas in Caseys travels were very close - 10 minutes away - why did she need the extra gas? She charged $45,000.00 on her mothers credit card - what did she buy? Did she get cash advances?

  167. This is not complicated. It is simple for 2 reasons…Casey is a born liar, and her life revolves around men. So,here we go:

Casey was seen leaving the house on Monday June 16 with Caylee, said good by to the father, says she is going to work and is taking the child to babysitter. It is almost 1pm.

She goes directly to Tony’s apartment to see him and have sex with him. she leaves Caylee in the carseat with her lunch and some toys. Parked in a private empty part of the lot…people are at work. Time about 1:30.

Casey returns to the car in about an hour, time about 2:30. She sees that Caylee has indeed choked to death on a toy or her lunch. she panicks and drives away, making frantic calls to her parents starting at 3 ish and ending at 4:30.

She puts the baby in the trunk while contemplating what to do. She decides she cannot tell her parents this child died while she was insided screwing Tony. She justifys the death as an accident, since she did indeed choke. But knows her parents will kill her for another stupid choice in her life.

She sleeps at Tonys, with the baby in the trunk. Again the next day she calls her parents for help, most likely she will lie about how the baby choked if her parents do answer, ‘i tried the heimlich, etc”
but they do not answer and the child is beginning to smell.

she goes back to the house, borrows the shovel to help break into the shed, and takes the gas cans to burn Caylee and bury the remains. She goes to shed, bangs it open with the shovel. Meanwhile, she has the scent of decompisiton on her shoes and clothes. The dogs later hit on this as she has been in the backyard contaminated. This scent is easily transferrable and picked up by dogs. She could have been in several areas in the yard, getting things, leaning on things with decomposition smells on her shirt or whatever.

She returns the shovel, takes the gas and the body to a place and burns the body partially and buries the rest of the remains.

There was never a babysitter. She made up a babysitter whenever she wanted to go to mens homes and hang out. Her parents probably said “you better not be taking that baby with you to your boyfriends houses” and so she says ‘no, I have a babysitter…and a job.

  168.
  169. I think the Lynn’s theory is brilliant - however,
on the 16th during the “flurry” of phone calls
one was to Tony - also Tony was asked if he saw
Casey during the day and he said he had not
I believe he saw her in the evening - after his school or work. Many believe that she left the little girl in the car - the problem again is the timeline.
Casey left her home by 12:30 or 1pm according to George. He left by 2:30 or 3:00 - the flurry of phone calls shortly after that - all the areas mentioned where Casey visited are very close 10 to 15 minutes -
whatever happened to Caylee happened between 12:30 and 4:30 pm - but as Tony was part of the series of calls she made - I dont think she went there. If we knew where she went its possible to believe the scenario by Lynn - except for the fact that Casey is a very smart girl - she knows you cannot leave someone in a locked car in 90 degree heat for even half an hour let alone an hour. Besides the “where”
of the scene set above - the rest makes perfect sense.
I too believed the shovel was more than likely used to
break the lock and steal the gas cans. However,
there is still one problem - WHY didnt George Anthony
on June 24th smell anything wrong in the trunk of the car? He opened the trunk and saw the gas cans - but he never said anything about the trunk smelling. If Casey borrowed the shovel to steal the gas cans by 17th or 18th - why no smell in the car on the 24th?
Also I believe that the Anthonys are now going to be faced with a choice here - I do not believe that they want Casey to come back home if released on bond - they know what she is (at least deep down they do)
and I dont think they want her there. Also the bounty hunter seems to think she also will go stay at the
Anthony’s or have someone stay with Casey 24/7 at least that is why he said on Van Susteren’s show last night. Who says the Anthony’s agree to all this?
I dont really think they want her home.

  173. I believe the scent was present when George Anthony retrieved the cans, but I also believe he was angry, grabbed the cans, slammed the trunk and left her. She then left as well. In retrospect, I am sure George remembers that car smelled badly.

Also, the scenario I presented (going to Tony’s) well I am not sure where she went, but fill in something irresponsible that she would not want to tell her parents and it still makes sense. Whether the child choked or died from heat exhaustion as well..I really don’t know. But in any event I believe this is what happened, no drug trade or anything of the sort. She is just a stupid girl with a history of making bad choices. She HAS to say that child was with the babysitter, because when they find out what she was really doing during the hour she died, she is going to be embarrassed. A normal person would suck up the embarrassment and take the child neglect charges. But alas she is a born liar, she doesn’t know how to do anything else. She was able to party and go on with life, because she knows it was an accident, she got the memorial tattoo, and made peace with it. In my opinion she waited too long to concoct the story….she just didn’t know which direction to go in with her parents, so she avoided and when confronted went with the best lie at the time, even though it had holes.

  175. I agree with Lynn’s post above. However, now even if she were to confess to it being an accident - she could possibly be charged with criminal negligent homicide.
I also agree that George Anthony has a hot temper - and sometimes men dont have the greatest sense of smell! As to where else she could have been,
I understand that she played the field a lot - she also had an ex fiance, his last name was Grund, (who also happened to be an ex policeman) she also could have gone to see him within those couple of hours starting at about 12:30 in the afternoon of June 16th. The calls started at about 3:00 or 3:30 so there is a 2 to 2 1/2 hour window where Caylee might have been left in the car. You know, I dont really
believe in these “accidents” where mothers leave their children in cars and the kids die.
There isnt a person on the planet that doesnt know that in 90 degree heat a small child with little body weight couldnt succumb. I also heard that there were
several very loud arguments that Sunday June 15th Fathers day - heard by several neighbors. As much as they defend her - I believe that deep down, the Anthony’s know that Casey has done something to their granddaughter. I also believe they will never find little Caylees body. However, as in the Scott Peterson case where they had no body until late in the case and then only skeletal remains,
I do believe they will charge her with either homicide or negligent manslaughter. I cannot believe
that all those seasoned police, the FBI and other authorities are going to let this little lying 22 year old get the best of them.

  177. Wouldn’t it be something, if Casey got off and this would just be another unsolved case. Now it looks like she will be released from jail thru that bondsman, what good will she be just having to be confined to one location and have to wear a GPS monitor, how can that help Caylee, it can only help Casey, not being in solitare in jail. Like her mother told her when she first found out Caylee was missing….I’ve given you a month, I’m not giving you another day, to find her. Having the mother and father and Casey in one house, after all of this, wouldn’t be suprised that one day the police will be called for a murder at that location. Someone could end up dead in that household, after all that has taken place!

  179. There is no Amber Alert, because the cops know the child is dead. I think the cops have a LOT of evidence, and are keeping their cards covered. Casey is a sociopathic slut, Cindy is a chronic enabler, and George is along for the ride. I think Casey killed the child by accident, at about 3pm on 7-16. Either the swimming pool or the hot car. I think Casey is so smug, because she thinks that she can’t be prosecuted, if there is no body. She’s wrong.

The worst of it is.. if Casey didn’t want the child enough to take good care of her, good people would have lined up for miles to give her a loving home, themselves.

I hope the whole family rots in hell.

If I were the police or FBI, I would pull a trick on Casey and not tell the parents. I would have a child in the seat of a car where you could only see the top of her hair. Then I would go into the house and tell Casey “we think we may have Caylee and you need to come with us to idenify her”. Let’s see Casey’s reaction. I hope that you are curled up peacfully in his arms with no memory of what must have been your last horrific moments on earth or the mother that who was suppose to protect you. She does not deserve your memory, your love or any smile from heaven that you would shine on her. G-d counts every tear shed by a child but you will shed no more, you will fill the heavens with the laughter of a three year toddler running to her father at the end of teh day to see what he has hidden his pocket for you. with all my love….i hope the best for you baby girl

  195. As I have been keeping up to date with this case, its interesting that she has not broken down yet. Listened to the tapes last night on the day she took the police on a wild goose chase. She blateningly lied about so many things, that now we know are not the truth. In the last year, year and a half, she has had a babysitter, Zanida, we know there was no Zanida…what has she been doing with her during all that time, if she had a “babysitter” where is the proof of paying a sitter, checks, receipts for tax purposes, etc. No one on TV has asked that question. You don’t pay a sitter, day after day, week after week, with cash, you write a check, you need receipts. No one is that good of a friend, to not get paid when supposedly babysitting that much. Would she just drop her off at a park, with a blanket and some food and say just play honey and I will be back in an hour or two, a 2 yr old would not understand that. I don’t care how smart they may be. They would wonder off. She was just a baby. If she was looking so hard for her, then why didn’t she go to Universal before she took the police, why did she say the night before she tried to email and emails came back as undeliverable, why didn’t she do that right after her daughter came missing, why all of a sudden, once her mom found out, did she start to do something…she was trying to cover her tracks. And then the phone call that Caylee made to her the day her mom found out, from a private call, nothing has become of that because that was just another lie. If she would have given her away to someone, she sure would not have done that without a price tag. I hope to god that the police are getting all their ducks in a row, and all their T’s crossed, arrest her on murder charges and go to trial. There is sooo much circumstancial evidence against her, I would be shocked if she was NOT convicted. We may never know the truth, but the fact is she was last seen with her daughter leaving her fathers house. Period. Now she is no where to be found. Casey has lived her whole life a lie. Let her lie to herself a cold lonely prison cell.

  201. We first heard about this case while vacationing in Kona, Hawaii in Aug 08 and have followed it since. We are shocked at the behavior of Casey and her parents.

I can’t help but think Casey’s parents knew something about the disappearance and or death of Cailee, otherwise why be argumentative with the media and others who showed up at their home? The investigation was grueling. If my child were missing, I’d welcome any kind of coverage and interest, and…..I’d be frantic which none of them are.

As for selfish Casey, if proven she murdered Cailee, she won’t rest easy in the pen. Her flippant and evasive attitude throughout the investigation is appalling at best! If she were honest and came forward early on, she may not have faced what she will. BUT if she put Cailee in the trunk then partied, how do you explain that away? It seems Cailee’s grandparents are complicit in this case and know more than they let on!

Cailee was a beautiful young child who deserved more than she got. RIP Cailee.
