Did The Jonas Brothers Spare Us From More Crappy Staind Songs?
Oh how I wish the stain on my memory of the rock band Staind could be removed. While my wish won’t come entirely true, at least Staind won’t be joining the ranks of bands like U2, Dave Matthews Band and Metallica according to this Yahoo News Story.
Apparently if Staind’s destined-to-suck new album, The Progress of Illusion had hit #1 on the charts, they along with the aforementioned rock bands would be in the prestigious group of acts to have 4 No. 1 charting albums in a row.
Why So Glum Boys?
Which could have only meant that we’d have even more Staind music in mind-numbing repetition on the radio. They don’t make enough pills to wash down that kind of hell.
But hey, back to the Jonas Brothers. Apparently, the three mop-topped brothers from Jersey have topped the charts with their latest album, A Little Bit Longer, keeping the dreams of the pseudo-angst rockers at bay — not to mention, the raging migraine that awaited me.
My kids love those cute Jonas Brothers and their radio-friendly music, and so far all three boys have kept their clothes on, unlike so many of the Disney manufactured processed sugar out there today.
As much as this kind of music isn’t really my cup of tea, it’s a positive sign we are moving away from derivative rock like Staind. Perhaps once the teeny boppers move on to something else, the music industry can look inwards and figure out why Disney is making them look like amateurs and we can bring back the kind of energy that’s been missing since Nirvana shook things up in the 90’s.
While we are at it, can we throw in the other source of auditory hell which causes me nothing but anguish: Nickelback? I’d be ever so appreciative.
Thus begins the nasty emails…..sigh.

Hahahaha! The Jonas Brothers??? Please….this is just Disney making a few more million dollars. Wouldn’t be refreshing though if they actually wrote and arranged their own music?? Better yet wouldn’t that be quite an achievement if they could say what Staind can say? And the boys from Boston did it all on their own with no help from a multi-billion dollar company. If my math is correct Staind has still outsold TJB’s by about 14 million records. Staind writes great music and loves their fans. I’ll never stop being a Staind fan. Fuck this stupid fuckin website! It’s ever so apparent that yo just don’t know good music. Staind has been in the game for 12 years. Them Jonas bitches are only in the beggining, which is funny cuz the end isn’t far off! These lip-synching brats don’t deserve what they have gotten. It’s not a popularity contest, it’s about who makes the best album. And take a peek at tour #s, I’m illing to bet staind plays ALOT more shows, to bigger crowds, with fewer filler bands on the bill to draw crowds. These Jonas bitches couldn’t sell out a venue in 18mins like staind has, and then have to announce a 2nd show and have that one sell out in 24 hours…
Come back in 12 years, see if these jonas brothers are still making music or even playing shows…

JB better than staind. haha. what a joke. my 1 year old daughter likes staind more than disney. if my daughter and your sons went to the same school in a few years i bet shed kick their ass and break their JB lunch boxes.

Well you could of fooled me here.. because I could of swore that your children wrote this article. Staind will be around forever they have a huge standing. They sing about real life. Not the popsicle favored lives these purity ring wearing wanna be male Britney Spears sing about. And well we all know how well that whole thing worked out for you folks. You bought your kids her CD.. then she turned into a slut and a druggie. Great job parenting there. Sure the Gay brothers won’t disappoint you as well. So you keep bashing there… it really does make you look just as shallow as I am sure you are! But Staind will continue to make amazing albums and will be around long after the Jonas Brothers learn to wipe their own ass.

I know that all the little girls LOVE the Jonas Brothers, but they have NO talent what so ever. Maybe if they stopped screaming long enough, they would be able to hear what they are screaming for.
I had the misfortune of catching them on TV last week, and I watched for a few seconds because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about……and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. They were totally off key and the song beyond sucked. Its too bad that all the people out there who have true talent are over looked for these fly by night no talent kids. I can’t stand boy bands, but at least the ones that came before them can sing a little bit,( I can’t believe I am saying this)
These guys are PATHETIC with a capitol PUKE.
And as far as Staind goes, I liked ONE of their songs and the rest of their stuff never interested me. Kind like male Tracy Chapmens. But I would pick them over the Jonas Brothers ANY day. Hell, I would pick Ethel Merman over the Jonas Brothers!

Learn about great music, the Jonas Bro’s punks can’t and won’t ever touch what Staind have done, they won’t be around for nearly as long, and won’t have nearly the following that Staind has accumalated over the years. Their only following are young teeny boppers who eat what they’re fed by Disney and all their affiliates who feed off of their artists. The Jonas Bro’s will never be as real as Staind. If you enjoy fake music with fake emotions about love, then all the more power to you, enjoy spending 90-150 dollars on tickets to these boys. Staind have been around since ‘96, that’s 12 years. I have never paid more than $45 for the best tickets to see them at a show with other great bands. I hope these boys enjoy their short stint in stardom, cuz I 100% guarantee it isn’t going to last.
