It Is All But Certain: Caylee Anthony’s Body Was In The Trunk Of Casey Anthony’s Car

Stations and websites in the Orlando area are now reporting what many of us have suspected for a while now:  There was a dead body in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car, and that body allegedly was that of her daughter, Caylee:

For the first time on the record on Sunday, Orange County investigators acknowledged that recent FBI lab tests indicated that Caylee Anthony’s body was in her mother’s trunk and that the child is dead.

Evidence from a Central Florida body farm showed that an odor emitted from Casey Anthony’s car’s trunk was human decomposition.

A lead investigator in the case told WESH 2’s Bob Kealing that lab results indicated Caylee’s dead body was in the trunk of that car. Sources also confirmed that a stain in the trunk was not what clinched the decision that Caylee was in the trunk, but it was the strands of hair that investigators suspected all along were Caylee’s.

If you remember, back when Cindy Anthony called 911 on her daughter, she said that it smelled like there had been a dead body in the car.  She later recanted her story and said that the smell was a combination of rotting pizza and cleaning fluid.

For her part, Cindy is still upset that her daughter was taken back into custody on unrelated charges and the original bond rescinded, and she wants an apology from the sheriff:

“We need to start looking for a little girl that’s walking and living and breathing and someone actually has her,” Cindy Anthony said.

Cindy’s behavior (including threatening media, not that they don’t sometimes deserve it, constantly berating the police and how they are handling the situation, and furiously rowing down that river of denial) is being blamed for an exceptionally low turnout at searches organized this weekend by Equusearch:

“We usually have 1,000 to 2,000 a day (for a search),” Texas Equusearch official Mandy Albritton said. “Unfortunately, Saturday we only had 200.”

Even fewer volunteers showed up for a Sunday search.

Some blamed the low turnout — which was described as dismal — on Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony.

“Regardless of what your opinion is about the family, the focus is on this little girl who needs to be found,” volunteer Magie Woodward said.

“I’d like to see a better turnout,” volunteer Lee Mann said. “There is so many people around here. Anybody could help.”

“We need them to realize this search is not about the family,” Albritton said. “This search is about brining this baby home. Whether to live out the rest of her life or rest — it’s a rescue mission.”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office directed the teams to areas that needed to be searched Sunday.

“It’s important that we find Caylee whether she is dead or alive,” Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Allen said.

And I have to agree.  Since it is all but certain that little Caylee is (allegedly) gone now, it’s important that her body is found so that she can have a proper burial and that part of the mystery can have some closure.

I’ve been taken to task by some commenters who think I need to be more objective in my reporting of this case.  All in all, I think I’m one of the more objective celeb bloggers out there.  I try very hard to look at all sides of a story before presenting my opinion.  I tried to do that in the beginning, in this case, before I started writing about it.  But a combination of new evidence, the Padilla fiasco, and Dawn (who has done a fabulous job covering the intricacies of this case) being temporarily gone from the site, all came together at once in time for me to start writing about it.  I’m sorry, but this blog is our opinions on current events, so I’ll leave the objectivity in this case to the mainstream media.

Personally, I believe Casey killed her daughter or was directly responsible for her death, whether accidental or on purpose, and she’s spent the past two months covering up with lie after lie after lie, all told with a straight face and a chilling demeanor.  She went out and partied while her dead toddler daughter lay rotting in an unknown grave.  I believe her family knows more than they are letting on, and the guilt is coming out in some of the continued hostility towards the media (of course, the media does push too far and that also accounts for some of the hostility…my opinion only).  I might have felt a bit of sympathy for her had Caylee died accidentally and she came forward with that information, even belatedly, and said that she just freaked out…but she hasn’t done that.  She’s continued on day after day and week after week telling lie after lie, knowing good and well that her lies continue to hurt her family:

On the worst of worst days, remember the words spoken
Trust no one, only yourself.
With great power, comes great consequence.
What is given can be taken away.
Everyone Lies.
Everyone Dies.

And not only has she lied continuously, but she went out and partied and got a tattoo while her daughter was “missing”, saying she was conducting her own “investigation”.  No…all she has done is lie and lie and lie, and I think she believes her own lies at this point, because to lie at this stage of the game takes a person who really believes what they are saying no matter how outlandish it is.  I personally don’t wish bodily harm to Casey, I pray for everyone involved, but neither Dawn nor I can be objective about this.  It’s too late for that.

You can follow GlossLip’s coverage of this case here.

UPDATE:  There are protesters at the Anthony house who are making things rough for the family:

But protesters and supporters refused to give up on the prospect that the missing girl was still alive, as they descended on Caylee Anthony’s home Monday, some saying they wanted to help the Anthony family find the missing toddler.

Protester Erika Courtney claimed the Anthonys were covering up for 22-year-old Casey Anthony, Caylee’s mother, who is in jail on charges of child neglect and lying to authorities. Courtney banged on the Anthonys door and demanded the family tell the truth.

“I am here to speak for little Caylee,” Courtney told MyFOXOrlando.com. “They know the truth.”

Courtney said she plans on continuing her protest despite a trespassing warning issued by Orange County deputies.

I’m sorry but that is completely ridiculous.  What do people think they are going to accomplish…that Casey or Cindy or George is going to come out and confess all, and now the protester is a hero?  Delusions of grandeur much?  All they are doing is breaking the law and being a nuisance.  Just because you believe somebody broke the law doesn’t give you the right to then break the law in return.  No matter one’s personal feelings about the Anthony family (and I do believe they know more than they are letting on, I really don’t think they are that deluded by their daughter), harassing them in their own home is not the answer.  These people are doing nothing but taking the law into their own hands and possibly hindering an investigation.

  1. I understand it’s hard not to be objective, especially in this case. When I talked with my mother about it, who lives in FL, I had done some searching and found out the name of the person she said took her, they had tracked down and she said she had no idea who she was, and wished she would stop using her name because it had affected her ability to keep an apt and job. Then I read somewhere about the possibility of the pool at their home. They said when they used the pool they would put out the ladder, but when they were done they would put it away. When they came home that day they said Casey and Caylee were gone, and the ladder was by the pool. That’s the last they said they saw Caylee. I ponder the thought that maybe the little girl got into the pool and drowned, and Casey freaked out. I get the answer from family that my idea would have prompted something to come out of Casey’s mouth by now if it was an accident. But I say what if she did something with her body that she thought was unspeakable? She had “gas cans”, a “shovel”, and I want to know was there ever a pizza and cleaner ever really back there? That would just be sick. Or it was something Casey told her mom because she doesn’t think she could tell the truth about where she is or what she did with the body??? Then I wonder why? Why would she go out and party? Why would she get a tattoo that says “Beautiful Life”? [Bella Vida] And why would she tell her mom (my space entry) “What is given, can be taken away. Everyone lies. Everyone dies…” Her mothers entry before that said:”This precious little angel from above gave me strength and unconditional love . . . Jealousy has taken her away. Jealousy from the one person that should be thankful for all of the love and support given to her . . . ” Maybe her mother doesn’t know anything, and is just in denial right now. Maybe not. But regardless, Casey knows what happened. And unless they can point a finger right at her, I’m afraid she’ll never talk.

  3. Casey can keep lying and not tell anyone where Caylee is, but for whatever reason she goes to jail she will not live long. people serving time in jail hate child abusers and especially children killers. Hopefully Casey will die a slow painful death. Say good-bye to your daughter Cindy and George.

  9. I don’t believe Cindy Anthony threatened anyone with a hammer. She had one in her hand while talking to the media while she was hammering in “no tresspassing signs.” The Bounty Hunter said she was afaid a dangerouse situation could develop with Cindy talking to the media while having a hammer in her hand.

It is not objective to say that Cindy was “threatening media with a hammer” unless there is some footage somewhere that I haven’t seen.

Yes Cindy is in denial, but it is an UNCONSCIOUS defense. She can’t help herself.

I hope they find Caylee’s body too and I hope it reveals the cause of death so Caylee and this whole tragic saga can be put to rest.

  13. I forgot to take the hammer part out. I looked it up after I typed it to doublecheck and realized she was hammering in signs when she talked to the media. Nevertheless, she was waving it around a bit, which could be construed as vaguely threatening, if you look at it squinty-eyed. My bad. I try to be concise but sometimes I forget things.

And I am not claiming to be objective. I tried to be when I first heard about the case but am not now. I’ve made up my mind; if people want to disagree with my opinion, that’s okay.

  15. The pictures of the little girl are haunting. I think that is what makes us so angry and sad that someone would hurt this defenseless little girl. If Caylee is dead she’s now out of further harms way. And for those that had anything to do with it, there is a living hell of seeing that child dead every day in their mind that will drive them crazy. A punishment more terrible then a quick lethal injection.

  17. I think it’s a shame that Casey has let her family believe all this time that Caylee is alive. And look at all the money that they have spent on trying to find her, Tshirts, flyers, posters. Not that I wouldn’t have spent that money as well to find my child or grand child, but to know they were wasting it, she deserves to spend the rest of her life behind bars thinking of what she did.

  19. It was reality for me when our 11 p.m. NBC network news here in Washington, D.C. announced the news on Caylee Anthony. I was getting the information earlier in the evening from the Orlando news via the Internet. After hearing it on my network news it really sunk in. I offer my sympathies to the Anthony’s even if they believe otherwise. They have lost a granddaughter AND a daughter.

  21. Just remember that in America that the law states “you are innocent until proven guilty.” Casey Anthony is a very disturbed young woman but that doesn’t mean she is homicidal.

Does she love her daughter? Perhaps! Does she adore herself? Yes!

I realize that we live in America, and people are innocent until proven guilty. However, that doesn’t stop me from analyzing the facts of the case and drawing my own conclusions…as others are also free to do.

  27. This horrific and heart breaking case is also making news here in South Africa where I live. I have so many questions.
    - Who is Caylee’s father? Surely with all the media coverage on this case, why have no men come forward to say that they had a relationship with Casey around the time Caylee would have been conceived?
    - The gas cans? In my opinion, Casey could have stolen them to either cremate little Caylee’s body, or use them as weights to drop Caylee’s body in some river or dam.

I know it is “inocent until proven guilty” For any person everything that has happened is NOT normal, and this evil woman has something to do with it. Me as a mother, just can’t get how a mother can harm her own child, a child that came out of her body. I can’t understand that even if she “didn’t do anything” how she didn’t call 911 righ away instead of waiting a month to do it. Or to party all that time. That IS NOT OK! The lab tests have been released on sunday, so COME ON! who is there to defend here… This crazy lady and her mother (for covering up) both of them have to pay!

I do know that the man she claims to have been the father was killed, and I thought I heard they were going to perform some DNA tests on the remains to make a determination. Whatever came of that? Does anyone know? Also, has there been anyone else who stepped forward to be a potential dad?

This was not her daughter alone. There is another family out there who should know.
    Thanks!

  37. I think you have done a superlative job in reporting the facts objectively. It is percisely because these facts are so horrific that one might think you are being subjective in some way. Of course everyone has feelings-who wouldn’t!
This is a case where too many disordered people were directly involved at the beginning. It was a circus.
Cindy Anthony didn’t do any favors for Casey or her family when she went around to all the networks and told her story; embarassed interviewers (Greta vonSusteran) and basically perpetuated one lie after another.
Casey is a troubled person and Cindy, who had access to all the mental health providers in Orange County, never thought it was important to get her daughter the treatment she so richly deserved. To think that it was Cindy who wanted to keep the child-Casey apparently had to listen to this and had apparently no say in the matter. Adoption was the smartest thing and the most honest thing Casey had to offer relative to this child.
We don’t know why Casey turned out the way she did. We don’t know what motivated her to leave home for a month. We know very little about where she went, what she did or who she was with. We do know that she was promiscuous, drank, stole money, abandoned her child and parents’ car,and took advantage of everyone who ever called her a friend. They were the ones who knew Casey the best; they were the ones who were tortured by her for years;they were the ones who covered up all her misdeeds; they were the ones who enabled her to do as she wished because, quite frankly, they saw no other way out. Cindy called the cops because she knew that the gig was up and her covering up would fail this time. She was going to save herself and George.
Looking back now with all that we do know makes it pretty clear to me that the Anthony’s would do anything to cover up for their daughter. They couldn’t believe in their twisted hearts that Casey could do the unthinkable but they knew something terrible had happened. That didn’t stop Cindy Anthony, knowing that she and George opened the trunk of the car and let the flies out, say at the Bond hearing that “Casey is a wonderful mother”. She told a group of supporters and some reporters to “get off your asses and look for my dranddaughter’. It didn’t go unnoticed by me that I hadn’t seen her walking anywhere, demanding an Amber Alert. Because she is such a damaged person, she thinks the rest of the world can’t reason. We try to work our insight-she hasn’t any.
In the end though, you have to look at Cindy and George as two of Casey’s victims. They might do the right thing and get help for themselves and Lee. Taking responsibility doesn’t always mean taking the blame when bad things happen. There is always redemption and I hope forgiveness.

  39. If Caylee died as a result of an “accident,” the mother Casey would still grieve. She has not grieved, but done everything BUT grieve. It’s that lack of feeling and the art of lies that makes me believe this mother killed her child in cold blood. Perhaps to anger or get back at her parents for their affection toward their grandchild – it means Casey is no longer the little darling and the star. It means more is expected of her as a mother herself, and she couldn’t measure up and resented being made to. Cindy is 50% of Casey’s problem – her caterin, covering up, making excuses for her etc…has probably been a lifelong habit, and as a result Casey never had to face any responsibility for anything.

i am a grandmother of two little ones. if my daughter did not know where one of her children were i would be on her every minute to tell me where she was. i would leave no stone unturned while looking for them. never mind holding “he said she said news interviews” with anyone. my daughter would have no peace until i had knowledge of my grandchild. good or bad. this is all such a shame. to think of all the families that can be assisted by the time, money, and publicity we are all spending on a such an affair. we all should be ashamed in making her a star and feeding in to her narcissistic personality.

  43. the mother and father and brother have NOTHING to do with this kid’s death or cover up in the beginning. i mean, the mother is the one who called the police and had her daughter arrested and was very tough on her in those first jail phone calls. the brother as well was doing everything he could to figure out how to get casey’s phone records that could lead them to “zenaida” with her sims card. surely they have both figured out that the child is long dead. so why they’re now covering for this idiot douche of a daughter/sister is beyond me. she is a mother douche. they are compliant now in the cover up i guess so she won’t spend her life in prison or at least 20 years of it. anyone with a brain functioning knows the kid is long dead. it was either drowning, ingesting some drug or alcohol that was left lying around, asphyxiation/suffocation/heat exhaustion from being left in the car…..i’m thinking drowning might have been it. even the father was angry at casey for stealing gas bins. but they should not be covering for her now. she deserves punishment. and it’s just going to get worse and worse if she does not just confess already. this is getting tiresome now.

  45. Below are the symptoms and characteristics of Antisocial Personality Disorder. Three or more
characteristics are needed to diagnose. Also a list of symptoms. You will take particular note of first:
“superficial charm” many people said that Casey was a good mother or nice girlfriend – this is the charm that is exhibited by sociopaths – they need it to charm their victims for whatever they want from them – money, place to stay, drugs, drink, etc. Casey definitely had this – however, is it only superficial because she uses her friends and family fast for her needs and after they discover what she is they drop her. Second, note “lack of remorse and indifference and rationalization” This is why
you dont see her grief and she is almost zombie like when she has appeared in court or at hearings. Only a few times we have seen her cry – but probably more for herself than anyone else. There are varying theories as to why children develop this disorder some believe its genetic others environmental or possibly a combination of the two. Casey seems to be a classic case. However, important to note, that
its not an insanity defense – people with this disorder do know right from wrong.

    DIAGNOSIS OF ANTISOCIAL PERSONALITY DISORDER
Three or more of the following are required:

    Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest;
    Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure;
    Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead;
    Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults;
    Reckless disregard for safety of self or others;
    Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;
Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.
The antisocial behavior must not occur exclusively during an episode of schizophrenia or a manic episode.[4]

Characteristics of people with antisocial personality disorder may include:

    Persistent lying or stealing
    Recurring difficulties with the law
Tendency to violate the rights and boundaries of others
    Substance abuse
Aggressive, often violent behavior; prone to getting involved in fights
A persistent agitated or depressed feeling (dysphoria)
    Inability to tolerate boredom
Disregard for the safety of self or others
A childhood diagnosis of conduct disorders – this is not a symptom but “a history of”
Lack of remorse, related to hurting others
    Superficial charm
    Impulsiveness
    A sense of extreme entitlement
Inability to make or keep friends

  49. NOT TO PLAY THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE….I DO BELIEVE CASEY AND HER FAMILY BOTH KNOW SOMETHING RE: CAYLEE’S DISAPPEARANCE. HOWEVER, WHY HAVE THE POLICE NOT ARRESTED CASEY FOR MURDER IF THIS FORESIC EVIDENCE IS SO DAMNING??? STANDS OF HAIR ARE MADE OF PROTEIN AND WILL DECOMPOSE REGARDLESS IF THE STANDS OF HAIR ARE FROM A DEAD PERSON OR A LIVE PERSON. AND, EXACTLY WHAT IS THE BODY FLUID EVIDENCE??? I DO BELIEVE JUSTICE WILL BE SERVICED. BUT, ALL OF THIS NEGATIVE ATTENTION GIVEN TO CASEY AND THE ANTHONY FAMILY IS POISONING THE COMMUNITY FROM SEARCHING FOR LITTLE CAYLEE. THE HELL WITH CASEY AND HER LIES. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE BEING SAID ABOUT THE ACTUAL FORENSIC EVIDENCE AND MORE BEING DONE TO SEARCH FOR LITTLE CAYLEE HOME REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME. ALL OF THIS LAVES ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE POLICE DO NOT HAVE ANY FORENSIC EVIDENCE THAT WILL ACTUALLY CONVICT CASEY IN A COURT OF LAW AND THE ONLY WAY TO CONVICT WILL BE IF SHE CONFESSES (WHICH SHE WON’T…SHE BELIEVES HER OWN LIES) OR IF THEY FIND CAYLEE. SO, THE SEARCH FOR CAYLEE MUST CONTINUE AND MUST BE EVERYONES MAIN FOCUS. FORGET CASEY AND THE ANTHONY’S…THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANYONES TIME AND ENERGY…HOWEVER, CAYLEE DOES AND SHE IS BEING LOST IN THIS MEDIA CIRCUS SURROUNDING CASEY AND HER FAMILY.

  51. #25: The police aren’t going to tell everything they have on Casey to the press or public. I’m sure they have more of both forensic and physical evidence that they just aren’t releasing. You’ve seen how Cindy reacts to the news that there has allegedly been a dead body in the trunk of Casey’s car (all but certain, slim chance of a false positive); she’s in denial and the more evidence released, the more Cindy goes off the rails, which poisons the public against them more and lessens the chances of help finding Caylee.

Personally, if I were near Florida, I would help try to find the body, if for no other reason than it would show conclusively that Caylee is deceased now and it probably wasn’t by natural causes. Find the body and you just might be able to prove Casey’s involvement. I’d think that would be incentive enough for searchers to come out en masse.

People think they are punishing the family by not helping search, but what they are really doing is continuing to hurt Caylee. This madness needs to end.

  53. It another 15 days or so it will be three months since Caylee Anthony was last seen alive. I think that has to be taken into account. The chances of a small body being found now are very very slim. She could have been wrapped and thrown into a dumpster and picked up by a garbage truck and thrown into the dump, or thrown in the water.
Im not saying that they shouldnt look, but they arent going to find anything in all probability. Therefore
the one hope the police have is to put pressure on the last person that had her -and that is Casey.
The police are NOT going to reveal all the evidence they have against her until she is charged and it comes out in discovery. However, it is frequently a ploy by the police to leak certain information to put pressure on the suspect. Thats what they are doing.
Forget what Cindy Anthony says – let her rant – I cant understand why she isnt using her “spokesperson”.
I think its because she cannot keep her mouth shut.
She has to put her spin on everything that comes out.
In any case, the person that holds the key is Casey and the police will continue to leak information and continue to pressure her through the media – as she is lawyered up and will not speak to them. They will bring charges against her soon – they are waiting to see if she accepts the limited immunity -I believe she will not – and then they will go just a little longer on this search. Id say just about when the three months Caylee has been missing lapses -and then they will charge her with some form of homicide.
They have more forensic evidence on Casey than they ever had on Scott Peterson – and he is on death row
and he never told what happened to Lacey Peterson.

They have enough evidence to convict Casey of the murder of her daughter even without a body..but I do want the family to have a body to bury..in the back of their mind they won’t have closure..it will always be a “hope” that maybe the little girl didn’t actually die and will come home soon. Casey Anthony doesn’t really understand that there are now people all over the world that love this child even if perhaps she did not ! I would just love to see Casey Cry for her precious baby and not because she can’t get out of jail..just once Casey..be HUMAN…cry for your baby !!!!

  57. cindy was outraged that her daughter had stolen her car and money -she wanted the police to arrest her immediatly, she showed the same anger and concern over Cayley’s disappearance- had she continued to show anger and concern then she would have had everyones sympathy. Maybe she blames herself for being so controling? Casey hates her mother, that much was clear from the tapes. Casey is a sociopath, she has no emotion & says what she needs to say to get her way. I think that if cindy had remained angry and outraged at casey then casey eventually would have lost control and in a fit of anger-confessed all- just to hurt her mother, I think this abrupt change of heart from cindy was done on advice from the attorney .

  59. Her parents are as selfish as she is . They are more concerned with how they look to others rather than take responsibilty for their roll with this entire circus. The only positive outlook here at this point is when this goes before a jury , Casey will be seen for what she is and what she is not . A murderer and a disgusting liar who cares only about herself and a not a mother who loved her child more than herself.I think she buried her and poured gas all around so no one would be able to smell not even dogs. This was planned

  61. It’s innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I’ve seen the “innocent until proven guilty” being thrown around in so many comments in stories regarding this case, and it drives me nuts. Individual opinions are NOT a court of law. Just because she hasn’t been tried for it yet doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to believe she is guilty and to express those opinions.

As far as not charging her, she’s already being held on other counts, which will most likely lead to additional jail time once that goes to trial. I think the reason they aren’t charging her (for murder/ manslaughter) based on the evidence so far is because they are able to buy time to search and dig up more evidence. The whole “right to a speedy trial” thing gives them a certain time frame to collect additional evidence, etc. I think if this is the case, it’s a smart move, since she’s being held on other charges, they don’t need to rush into additional charges just yet, therefore giving them more time to build up a more solid case. Especially since there is still no body. Yes, it is possible to convict without a body, however, without that key piece of evidence, they are going to need as much evidence as possible. With Casey being held on other charges, investigators, etc, have more time to gather more evidence against her to have a solid case. Just be patient, and remember that law enforcement IS working on this- just because charges haven’t been filed yet, doesn’t mean it’s not around the corner. They are using time in their favor right now, Casey isn’t going anywhere any time soon, so there is no need to rush.
Hopefully that makes sense, I’m exhausted today and my insomnia is making it difficult to get my thoughts out properly.

  63. Has anyone else noticed that the entire family seems intolerant of “smells, looks, etc.” This brings me to comment to something else that I do believe, I believe that if Casey did something to her child, she would not get Caylee’s body dirty. I believe that she bathed the child, dressed her in probably the cutest dress with her white tights and little maryjanes, made a raft out of the bamboo she cut down and put her child in a reed stream much like what happened to Moses. I truly pray that I am VERY VERY wrong, but I do know people like Casey and this scenerio is something that I know they could do.

Another area of interest is the only 2 videos I’ve seen on the internet of Caylee actually speaking and both times she said either Dada/ Daddy. I have been unable to refind the myspace page where Caylee is on an airplane and says Daddy while sitting on what appears to be Lee, but I really don’t know if it was him. Does anyone know where that video link is? I think it was on myspace and titled something like Caylee Inflight or Onflight.

  65. You know, I watched Cindy Anthony’s interview this morning on the Today show and just sat and shook my head. I really am ALMOST feeling sorry for this woman who seems to be so out of touch with the reality of this whole situation.

I am now wondering why the police just don’t have Casey take a lie detector test? It seems so simple and would be so telling. I have never heard this option being discussed which is strange considering all the advancements in investigating techniques and all the people interested in this case. Just something I wanted to throw out there.

  67. #32: If I remember my Law & Order, lie detector tests aren’t admissible in court. But I could be wrong.

Also, if Casey really, really believes what she is saying, it is possible the test could return a false reading. It is possible to beat them.

  69. I also want to say that I completely agree with #31 Delilah. I too beleive that the police have a lot more evidence than what they are revealing. I also beleive that this case will be solved in its own time. They do not want to rush and make any mistakes. They are building there case against Casey and will not charge her until it is solid. Good investigations take time, especially when there is no one cooperating.

I was also thinking that if Cindy Anthony really beleived that Caylee was alive, then why would she ask the Texas EquuSearch team to continue searching knowing that the only places they are searching are woods, feilds, swamps, ect? Does Cindy or george really think that Caylee is living, walking, breathing and caring for herself alone in a swamp?
I don’t mean to sound cynical or mean….but that does not make any sense. They know in their hearts what is going on. I beleive there “support” of Casey is all an act.

  73. Polygraphs are admissible in court only if the defense, prosecution and judge agree to allow it in.
If not, then they are not admissable. Also no one
can force you to take a polygraph test – it has to
be voluntary. Many criminal attorneys give private polygraphs to certain clients if they will agree to it just for their own edification. In Casey’s case
I doubt very seriously she would even take one.
Her best defense is to keep her mouth shut and if tried for homicide, Baez would bring expert witnesses
to refute the forensic evidence the police have – just like they did in the O.J. trial. You can always pay an “expert” witness to testify opposite what another expert witness has said. A bigger problem will be to find an impartial jury. Today less than
40 people turned up to search – and I understand that Texas Equusearch is going back to Texas – mostly due to rain and bad weather. It is true that Cindy asked them to come to search which is a mystery to everyone as today she stated that the police had “railroaded”
Casey and Caylee was still alive. I think there is something at play here we dont understand between Casey and Cindy but what that is, is just another mystery.

  75. I stand corrected. Tonight Cindy appeared on another show Nancy Grance and said that the Equusearch was a waste of time because they are looking in the woods and a “live” Caylee would not possibly be located in the woods. Cindy claimed that the only reason she contacted Equusearch was because Equusearch said that they could look for a live living person. Tim Miller from equusearch said tonight on Nancy Grace that they are considering calling off the search because casey is refusing to give up any useful information in the search for her daughter and until she begins to cooperate they could be spending their time looking for other missing children. I felt sorry for the guy. He looked tired and frustrated and at one point almost started crying when speaking of his own child that went missing and eventually was found murdered in 1984. The guy is there and working his ass off because he cares and truly wants to help. Good old Cindy didn’t even say thank you….only, they are wasting their time. How sad is that?

I don’t know what to think.

  77. I too was watching Nancy and I missed the last segment that had Leonard Padilla on – he said something about a dumpster near Tony Lazzaro’s apartment – he was the last boyfriend that Casey
was recently involved with and where she stayed a lot of the time – I dont know if Padilla was intimating
whether Tony was involved – but something is up with that dumpster near Lazzaro’s apartment. I always thought that was the simplist way to get rid of a small body just to wrap it and leave it in a dumpster
and it would disappear in the dump. She could not take a chance on burying a body or even putting her in the water – too risky. These days no one even touches garbage cans – the trucks pick up trash with a mechanized arm – no one really sees what goes in the truck anymore. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

  81. Sure the family knows more than they are saying…but what they know came from Casey…and so what they know is probably nothing more than more lies.
I would rejoice if we were all wrong…and little Caylee is alive. But the longer this has gone, and given the evidence…how can that be?
Of course the Anthony’s are in denial, most of us would be in this case…soon enough, they will have to admit to themselves the truth. As annoying as I have felt Cindy is, I do not know her deep pain…and it is hard for anyone to really know how they would handle a situation of this kind.

It has been in my mind, that Casey left her pocketbook in the car intentionally. I think she had planned to disappear…she had stolen money, run up credit cards etc. If Casey did disappear and the car was found…with evidence of a decomposed body in the trunk, her pocketbook there…we could believe that both Mother and Child had fallen into a situation of foul play. Then when Casey ran out of money, and wanted to come home…she could reappear and tell some more lies that both had been abducted, but she escaped. Just something that I have been mulling around.

  83. Did anyone else notice Cindy looked like she was on drugs. She looked and sounded flat (very little real emotion) as going through the motions. I think she is completly out of her mind. I also was looking at family photos on the myspace and facebook pages for caylee and I realized that Cindys husband Casey father is no where in any photos . Its very apparent that while Cindy is looking like she has not slept or showered in weeks her husband always looks so immaculate. Yes they show him flip out however mostly he says nothing. I also was listening to headline news and the guy Shepard ask Geraldo why haven’t these grandparents gone and helped with the actual search themselves. He said Leonard Padella said that was when the lightblub went off for him , he and his nephew realized they had not attended one search yet constantly complained no one was looking. I honestly hope they charge her soon letting this go on and on is hurting everyone

  85. theory: what if while with her mother who left her alone in the car momentarily, she got into some of her mothers drugs? (extasy) and died. Her mother freaked out, knowing that any toxicology tests would reveal the drugs, then decided to dispose of any /all evidence, and after several failed attempts to do this effectivly, remember she had almost a month to think of something, she decided to feed her child to the alligators ? there would be no shallow grave to find, and who would imagine that a mother could do such a thing? in her gut/shes close to home.

  87. Padilla has said a lot of things, so his comment about the dumpster is nothing to take too seriously… although it would not hurt to check it out. Maybe he has some inside information that we are unaware of.

As far as Casey’s car….she not only left her pocketbook in full view but also the keys. My thoughts on that are that she expected that the car would be stolen. If the car was stolen then she could blame the evidence that would be eventually found on someone else. Which if you listen to Cindy own words……”someone else could have put a dead body in the car after it had been found and taken to the tow yard.”

There are just too many theories out there to even attempt to guess which one is true. I have faith in the police. I believe they know so much more than we could ever guess or theorize. When they do charge Casey…..it will stick.

  89. Maybe the Equusearch team should scan the Anthony’s back yard just one more time for good measure before they leave….since Cindy wants them to stop looking. I think that it is so sad that she wasted this teams time and resources. Just another group of caring people that the Anthony’s have taken advantage of at no cost to them of course. I personally think that she does not want her granddaughter found deceased. In Cindy’s mind, is easier to believe that Caylee is still alive out there….even if Caylee has been missing for MONTHS and the evidence tells us something horrible happened to Caylee. It is all a very sad situation. :(

  93. I believe this baby is dead and the mother and her attorney know it also. The atty is working on his case to show innocence. too bad Casey was never innocent but only a lying, schemeing, stealing, thankless ,self loving person that was probably spoiled and doted on as a child and never disciplined but only blamed what she did on something and someone else. She was never told that lying was wrong but instead as Cindy herself said well she always lied but than I got the truth out of her. Only now Casey grew over the years better and better at her lies and covering up and no longer needs to tell momma the truth. she did not want to be a mom and the carefree life she longed for did no include a child so she got rid of her. Casey was always a mental case but never got help because her parents ,just like today, believe she is ok.what a mess! what a dysfunctional family!!!! the little baby paid the price for not facing reality and facts a long time ago…..

  95. OMG!!. I have tried to call Nancy Grace and also the tip line. My daughter also has tried. The both of us have tried for over a month now and the line is constantly “BUSY”… I have known that Caylee had been in a dark gray box for a long, long time. These are caylee’s words. Please do not laugh at me nor show disrespect. I am a Medium. A psychic/medium. When the F.B.I lab techs found human DNA in Casey’s car trunk, I knew I had communicated with caylee’s spirit. She tells me she sees “rows of rocks”, that was a question I asked caylee. ‘What do you see?. Then I asked her can you hear anything?, like cars going by or lots of birds? caylee tells me she thinks maybe a train sometimes. And she says ‘Mommy gave me something that made me sick and sleepy, I threw up’…
Then Chloriform was detected also in casey’s trunk.

Now people. I have never been to Florida. Yet I get a pulling towards a graveyard not far from North Orlando. “rows of rocks” I do not know how far this is from the Anthony’s home. Now as for my opinion, George, Cindy, and Casey especially George is far to smart to put Caylee in the most obvious place. Which happens to be where searchers are looking and have already looked. However, who would ever think to search a graveyard! possibly where her daddy is. I pray my vision communication is wrong. Also, remember, Caylee told me she thinks she hears a train sometimes. Is there a train tressel near the Anthony’s home? and built of concret? which I would concider as ‘rocks’. Please, anyone in that area check it out. Tell the Orlando police.
    Blessings.

I realize she had a child but it appears she is also a lesbian because of those party pictures. Has anyone checked out a lesbian lover. We know that the lady drowned both of her kids by driving the car into the river to get rid of them so that she could be with a man who didn’t want kids. How about her doing the same thing to be with her lesbian lover. THIS IS NOT ABOUT LESBIANS AT ALL, it’s just a thought. I think she is buried very near her father.

i think he first said he didnt no the nanny now he say,s he,s known her a year and ahalf. i feel she needs to go back to jail and maybe if she stays there a while she,ll tell the truth. i bet caylee would like to feel the freedom she has now. i beleive that caylee,s mom should be feeling a little more greefe and pain than what she show,s for someone who love,s there daughter as much as she is saying.if she did she would confess and not let her baby lay in the ground or were ever she is and be eaten up with bugs and other animals.while she sits back and live free with no worry,s but a couple of years in jail then released later on.. i also beleave the attorney should get some kind of charge as well for knowing that caylees laying out some were dead or alive how can he sleep at night knowing that he,s protecting a murderer.
