But one has to wonder about a political candidate who supports abstinence-only education when their own teen becomes pregnant out of wedlock. It's clear that Palin's daughter received the abstinence-only education that she (Gov. Palin) so spearheads and she is in for a SERIOUS up-hill battle defending the programs effectiveness when it so clearly failed her own flesh and blood. Kids will make their own decisions, it’s true. Lots of moms, even in this day and age, will get flak over having careers while being mothers. What does it say when a mother who supports abstinence-only programs, who is a politician, has recently revealed to the world that her teen, unmarried daughter is pregnant? What kind of message does that send? Does she expect the American people to ignore the obvious contradiction in this situation? How can she expect to be taken seriously in this regard? Is she expecting her daughter to be an 'exception to the rule' that is a part of her world? Do as I say, not as I do. That seems to be the only rule in effect here.
