Britney Does The Right Thing
I know it isn’t a big news item when a celebrity goes shopping and is mobbed…in places like Hollywood and NYC, it’s more par for the course than anything else. However, when you’re Britney Spears, and you have a history the past few years of roaming aimlessly around stores and malls and Starbucks while fans and paps swarm you as you act more and more erratic, then getting out and trying to go shopping is a big news item, and here is why:
You could see the fear in her frightened doe eyes — the exact moment Britney Spears decided a trip to a NY jewelry store was too insane for her to handle.
The crazy scene went down in Soho just moments ago, as Britney took all of 5 steps outside her SUV, when an army of paparazzi and overzealous fans overpowered her five-man security squad. She turned, she froze, she ran back into the car, and finally — she got the hell out of there.
And I applaud yet another baby step in the comeback of Britney Spears. This time a year ago, she would have continued through the throng, regardless of who was there and who might get hurt in the process, mindless of her own and of other people’s safety and concentrating only on getting what she wanted. Today, she saw that there was a riot waiting to happen and promptly got her behind outta there.
The latest and best example yet of Britney on her way back. Yesssss!

She looks good, and definitely a smart move on her part to leave.
Good for her, it’s nice to see someone coming back after going thru so much.

This is the nicest article I have seen here about Britney.
I wish to correct one thing though. You suggest that Britney didn’t care in the past if someone might get hurt etc. “…concentrating only on getting what she wanted.”
I don’t think that is a fair way to describe Britney’s past behavior. I wish you would know the villain that Sam Lutfi was and what he did to her life, i.e., drugging her, parading her, sticking his tongue into her ear while Britney didn’t see…He probably did stick his tongue in her ear though at other times, if not that night. http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2008/01_04/BritBAR2201_468×306.jpg
I believe Chad Hardcastle took the photo from the backseat. Pictures exist of him with a camera that night.
p.s. In happier girly type news, Britney wore her favorite shoes to NY but has been sporting a number of new ones: cute ones!
Oh and there is NO sex tape. http://www.starmagazine.com/britney_spears_sex_tape/news/14672

Same night as the tongue. It was taken between the two 5150s. Adnan had gone, purportedly that weekend, to a funeral in California.
Also, on this weekend, I believe, is when Sam produced false restraining orders from Britney against Adnan. He showed them to the paps.
I hope you understand why I am sensitive to what you write about Britney, especially with your connection to Ian Halperin, and you help in promoting his book and website.

I apologize. I was in error. I believe it was shortly before the first 5150, when, if you read Lynne’s book, was a set up by Sam. Sam told Britney that K-Fed had told her she could keep the kids another hour.

Amazing, please allow me to clarify my phrase in that article.
When I said that in the past she didn’t care what happened and etc, I didn’t mean that she was a horrible person. I don’t believe Britney was Britney back then, if that makes sense. The combination of the inappropriate meds, the controlling of her emotions and life by Lufti (and others), the undiagnosed mental illness she was struggling with, the stress of what her life had become, the manipulation pulled on her by those in her life up to no good…I believe all those things (and probably others that we don’t know about) contributed to make Britney not herself any longer. It was in this altered mental state that she committed such acts as shopping at Rite-Aid at 3AM and barging into stores half-dressed and stirring up a ruckus wherever she went.
I personally don’t necessarily hold Brit responsible for a lot of what went on, simply because she wasn’t in her right mind at that time. She couldn’t make decisions about her own safety and that of others because she wasn’t thinking properly. Now that she is in her right mind and is thinking properly, she is capable of looking at the situation and thinking, “Okay, not safe for anyone, let’s get outta here.” I do think that’s a big, big deal.
I hope that kind of clarifies things.
And as far as Ian Halperin goes…personally, I’ve never met him, never talked to him, never gotten an email from him, nothing. Dawn is the Ian contact, not me.

k,
I’ve got it. Thank you.
You just earned my respect by bothering to clarify your stance. You know more than I thought you did.
I will be a kind poster from now on.
