Happy Birthday, Paul Simon!
Name: Paul Fredric Simon
Birthdate: October 13, 1941
What do you say about Paul Simon? Two-time Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame member (and rightfully so), multiple Grammy Award winner, guitar player and songwriter extraordinaire, long-time off and on partner of Art Garfunkel…the man truly eludes description.
My favorite Paul Simon song/album? You gotta be kidding. There’s no way I can narrow it down. I’ve loved Paul and his music since I was a teenager and he continues to be a favorite to this day.
It is amazing to me that he continues to have a successful career long after so many of his contemporaries have hung up their guitars and microphones. Plus, he has the good sense to be able to laugh at himself…a rare quality in a star of his caliber.
His music has touched and influenced my life possibly more than any other musician/songwriter today. You can have your overhyped, overglossied, overplasticed so-called “artists” of today…give me Paul Simon, a guitar, and a microphone.

Very nice post and pictures about Paul Simon. he is my all time favorite singer/songwriter too. For me it’s also impossible to narrow it down. Every song has his own kind of feeling in it. You can play his music when your happy or when you’re feeling sad, it will always comfort you. Happy Birthday Paul. I wish you all the best.

Great post about a great man. I was brought up on Paul Simon and his music. I mean, who didn’t have a copy of Bridge or The Greatest Hits albums of S&G?! I have fond memories of myself and my sister listening to the later in the front room of our two bedroomed flat. Carefuly lifting the needle and, equaly carefuly, placing it on the next track we wanted to listen too.
Happy Birthday Paul! Still Brilliant After All These years!

Beautiful voice and great writer. I think he looks sad in that picture though.
I actualy met Art Garfunkle and waited on him YEARS ago, he was with his Dad. It was the Young Millionair’s club at the Dania Jai Alai in Florida. Very pleasant and quiet man.
The two of them together had a beautiful sound. Bookends being my favorite album.
