Britney’s Son Taken To The ER
UPDATE: It seems that little Jayden had a reaction to something he ate:
“Jayden James Federline was admitted to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center on Sunday, November 9th. Doctors concluded he had a reaction to something he ingested. He is expected to be discharged tomorrow (Tuesday),” said the statement from the Spears family posted on the official www.britneyspears.com Web site.
People magazine, quoting a source close to the family, said that Jayden had suffered “a terrible allergic reaction. He had hives, was itchy and irritable.”
The source told the celebrity magazine that Jayden “is doing fine” and Spears, 26, and her mother, Lynne, spent Sunday night at the hospital with him.
Over the weekend, pop mama Britney Spears was allowed to take her boys to her hometown of Kentwood for a visit with her family, but unfortunately her son Jayden had to be taken to the emergency room after an apparent seizure:
Jayden James was raced to the emergency ward after lapsing into a ‘vague and unresponsive’ state.
The toddler fell ill yesterday afternoon at the family home in Kentwood, Louisiana.
The entire Spears clan made the 25-mile dash to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Centre, Mississippi.
Doctors were unable to pinpoint the problem straight away and kept the toddler in for overnight observation.
Distraught Britney, 26, refused to leave his side and asked for a bed next to him in the ward.
Her ex-husband, rapper Kevin Federline, is now believed to be making plans to jet out of Los Angeles to be at Jayden’s bedside.
Britney recently appeared onstage with Madonna and ex Justin Timberlake (albeit at different times) in what is widely rumored to be preparation for her upcoming album Circus (aptly named) and possible world tour.
I have to wonder, however, at the timing of such an event, especially coming on the heels of a medical emergency with one of her sons. Certainly, this could be something minor or a one-time deal, but it could just as easily be a sign of something more serious. I also hope that this doesn’t get Britney down or cause her to have a setback, as stress can sometimes trigger symptoms in those dealing with the mental issues Brit has had to face lately. Here’s hoping Brit takes some time off to be with her little boys and that Jayden is up and himself again soon.

Then again, if it was, say, a food allergy, and Britney gave him something he was allergic to, that could definitely be used against her in court when she requests more time with her children. Hopefully it was an unknown allergy or something that couldn’t be avoided, like Louisiana plants or environmental factors… I don’t know. I was hoping they could get through the holidays without anything making the headlines.
